All of you are right. Anupama does not owe anything to her children and should be free to prioritize her dreams. Vanraj has the full freedom to disregard his kids' feelings and have another child with his new wife. I agree with all this. But these kids should move out.
I am a working adult and if my parents choose to have a kid now, sure, it is their choice, but I would honestly move out ASAP. But these parents, who cry about not being allowed to live their lives on their own terms, villainize their own children if they want to maintain a distance (physical and emotional) from them. In a way, they are forcing their children to accept all their decisions.
I feel this show pushes this narrative of parents being human beings and having the freedom to pursue their own wishes and desires. But they do not do the same for children. If any of the 3 children wants to be independent and move out, these stupid Shahs and Anupama would create a ruckus.
Who is watching this show? I have refrained from watching it and only read WUs, but I am still so triggered.
