Even Anupama supports this idea of parents worship. This suppresses children's freedom to share their ideas, ask questions and even correct adults because even adults may be wrong. No wonder all of three are still immature and dependent.

Like you said they should move out and take their responsibilities . SH is anyways very crowded.

There are so many brides in india who were killed by toxic "bade" MIL and FIL because society kept pressuring the bride to go back to them. And this show is spreading this regressive message again

I agree we shouldn't shout on elders and disrespect them but that doesn't mean should take all the crap in the name of sanskaar... Baa has rights to scold her grand children but not Kavya Kinjal. The way she behaves with them as if they are maids. Why Anupama never said woh ghar ki bahu hai tameez se baat karni hai. That was the main concern. When Kinjal replied back to Baa though everyone know she is very sweet but still Anupama said you shouldn't talk like that to her. None tried to understand her Pov.

Baa abuses adopted kids, abuses an orphan child, abuses a rape victim. She is evil to the core

Anupama - Don't disrespect bade

What lessons are we teaching our next generation? Let rape victims and adopted kids be abused by evil toxic people because they are bade?

I am a working adult and if my parents choose to have a kid now, sure, it is their choice, but I would honestly move out ASAP. But these parents, who cry about not being allowed to live their lives on their own terms, villainize their own children if they want to maintain a distance (physical and emotional) from them. In a way, they are forcing their children to accept all their decisions.

I feel this show pushes this narrative of parents being human beings and having the freedom to pursue their own wishes and desires. But they do not do the same for children. If any of the 3 children wants to be independent and move out, these stupid Shahs and Anupama would create a ruckus.

Who is watching this show? I have refrained from watching it and only read WUs, but I am still so triggered.

The issue with helicopter parents like Anupama (those who hover around their grown children, make them Mama's boys and never let them grow or stand up for themselves) is that the kids are never taught to stand up for themselves and live and face challenges by themselves

They know if any challenge comes, dear Mumma will come running and do everything for them

Such kind of toxic relationship make children forever dependent on their mother, so they cannot even think of moving out and facing the world, their parents never made them ready to face the world by constantly treating them like babies all their lives. They will feel lost in the real world without their mumma

Essentially, women like Leela or men like Vanraj behave as if an Anupama is their chattel, for life. Someone like Anupama who is conditioned to be this way, believes that there is nothing wrong with this mindset and never speaks up against it however much she has to bear herself, lest she upset the divine order of society along with the ill-mannered, regressive woman she has exalted to a godly status just because she is her mother in law. Everything else is a spillover of this core issue, which cannot be corrected because it's too late for Anupama to unlearn and learn in life.

Anupama invokes Lord Krishna so much. But even Krishna said respected bade like Bheesma and Dronacharya should be killed for fighting on the side of evil. And baa is more like putna or Sisupal than Bheesma

Anupama invokes Krishna but ignores every lesson of Krishna, like Krishna himself was adopted but his foster mother loved him more than anyone but Anupama never loved or cared for her adopted kid, Krishna always preached about fighting evil, Anupama always bows to evil, Krishna always said rituals are not important, good deeds amd hard work are, Anupama is obsessed with rituals and festival and ignores her dance academy and business.

I am not understanding. What’s wrong with having a kid?

I am not sure if you would agree, but I would be quite uncomfortable with the thought of a sibling much younger than I am. I do not presume I have any say in the matter, because it is entirely my parents' choice, but I would choose to disengage myself from the situation a bit.

There are more practical implications as well. For example, education in my country is extremely expensive. If my parents want to have a child in their mature years, I will enquire if they have sufficient savings to cover the cost of raising a child. Do they plan on postponing their retirement? Do they expect me to contribute? That would have an impact on my planning, for example, when and how many children I may choose to have. How do they plan on raising the child if their health deteriorates?

Now that I type it out, I realize I may sound selfish, but it is what it is, considering the cold reality of our high costs of living. Personally, I do think having children beyond a certain age is really quite irresponsible. I think this is an extreme example, but it is very selfish for Al Pacino, the American actor, to have a child when he is 83 years old. How much time can you realistically spend with your child? What would be the trauma on the child if they loose their father at such a young age?

I love that you invoked the examples or Bheeshma and Dronacharya. It is so true; we can respect elders but still take action to oppose them if they are in the wrong. Honestly, Anupama has brainwashed Kinjal. I feel so bad for her. :(

Its so sad to see someone as educated and formally independent like Kinjal is living in and serving the family of her cheater husband

Today's episode Kinjal and Dimpy’s dialogue mirrored Anupama and Kavya's which used to happen before in Shah house, with Anupama serving her cheater husband's family and new bahu being insecure by her behavior
