In aam zindagi(reality), I won't let my daughter alone to any man's house where he lives alone. Even if he is a relative or close friend, I would find it creepy if any man asks that.

But this is Anupama zindagi where a Maa is proved to be real by the mamta meter of world's besht Maa and the depth of mamta is decided by having a Maa in one's name... So yea, it's not odd to hear such dialogues in this zindagi

I too find it odd that’s Maaya is okay to let her child be with Anuj. But, it is very weird that Anuj let Maaya take away the child without proper evidence. Who does that really?!

This whole story weaved around CA is so poor that I cannot fathom anything sane or figure out who is right. Deep down I feel so sorry and disgusted that such stories around little children are shown on national television. Pathetic!😔

Yes. All important social topics have been mocked in this serial. I sometimes wish there was a way to ban such shows from airing. Such shows ruin the already regressive attitude of folks around.

I didn’t find it creepy because it’s a father asking a daughter to come and meet him and he had to specifically mention that to Maya to send CA alone and not tag along because he can sense Maya’s advances, and he doesn’t like that kind of attention from Maya because

a) he is a Patnivrata Anupama Bhakt and

b) He is well aware of Maya’s feelings for him

Maya probably would’ve agreed because no mother would fear sending her daughter with her father, especially when that father is Anuj Kapadia, yes if same dialogue would’ve been said by a stranger or a distant relative then it would’ve sounded creepy

Yes, I am surprised and disappointed by some of the comments here. Anuj was her foster father for a while. He loves her as a daughter. Maya also knows this as she had secretly observed them for a while with CA.

How on earth is this creepy? Just because he is a guy? Anupama doing it would be ok as she was a woman?

Sexism is sexism in any form even if its against guys and sexism should always be called out in any form. Finding a father being alone with his daughter creepy is sexism

I so agree, no one can ever love a daughter like her father and just because Anuj and CA are not blood related doesn’t make their bond any less !
What actually creeps me out is Anupama doing Maari Bebli all the time and CA jumping in her lap and they both behaving like the best mother daughter ever

While reality is quite evident, her crying for CA and expecting her to come back along with Anuj is creepy because her actions speak louder

I understand where you are coming from, here I'm not doubting the character of Anuj in any sense (and I think the original poster specified she isn't too). He seems to have a very pure, intense and heart-warming bond with Choti.

But when connecting it to reality- had the world been an ideal place, I would love to be able to see the purity that exists in all the bonds. Infact, I try to still do that in this non-ideal world.

I was trying to think from the perspective of the mother of a small daughter, especially a mother with a traumatic past with men - something about that dialogue put me off.

I am not able to perceive people finding this concerning as a form of sexism though.

It was wrong because law too doesn't allows a man to adopt a girl child for same reason.

Technically anuj has no right on anu so asking Maya to leave her child on his friend's flat was wrong. He should have let her come if she wants to remain in contact with her daughter. Anuj should have ideally asked her bring in public place park, mall etc.

This is show so we can see anuj has fatherly love and is good man. Though it was wrong to ask mother to not come with child.

But he was literally his foster father for a while. And he was alone with her lots of time. Just some documents or legality doesnt change that

If it was not creepy before why would it be creepy now?

1) Either it was creepy all the time - a guy can never be alone with a girl even if its his daughter.

Or

2) just because of legality, it suddenly became creepy for him to be alone with the girl he was the father of before and who he considers his daughter

Both seems nonsense to me.
