They just bluntly chose sides, without trying to be politically correct. Hence Rohit never felt childless and did not feel a need to adopt or start a "seperate" family with Sreemoyee.

They even helped Dithi (Pakhi) and Aitihyo (Adhik) a lot and got them married formally instead of them eloping first and then coming back, which validated Rohit's position in their lives even more.

Yep he moved out as soon as Sreemoyee married but in a seperate flat, while visiting Sreemoyee and Rohit frequently but hardly visiting the Sengupta house. Very dignified!!!
