Yes, I absolutely agree. And none of us have ever stopped another person from having their opinion, we have only debated on certain things, whether it is right or wrong. And some things seem so glaringly wrong to us, so we argue more passionately. Rudhita and I, for example, were able to have such a civil and fruitful discussion even though we had our disagreements. Even on this thread, myviewprem and ga1986 didn't start fighting with or threatening each other. Some topics are sensitive to people, so we need to understand and accommodate that. As far as I know, most of us here have been so peaceful and civil barring a few who decide to fight and be hostile for every disagreement.

So it's based on the type of people having discussions as well and their behaviour. In fact, I don't think any of us have sent abusive messages or threatened someone because they have a certain opinion or support someone with a certain opinion so I'm actually finding this whole thing so ironic.

Nostalgia does that to us, we miss what is long gone. The dynamics of the forum keeps changing and rightly so. However, we should appreciate the present times as well. This forum has witnessed several fine posters who can hold amicable discussion. https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/anupamaa/5311184/rape-in-a-patriarchal-society

The above thread is a just one recent example of normal, civil discussion, but we have all noticed the same pattern across different topics by these posters in various threads as well.

Kudos to all these members –Rudhita, lalaland, motherhood, gauri, itsmeazra, prernashiv, bhodianveshika and many more (my memory fails to quote them here). 👏 These members & their posts are thought provoking and great examples of civil discussion.

This forum continues to be a place to vent out frustration, bicker and banter, the ties that bind us together.

Always a pleasure to be part of a good discussion. So may different perspectives 👍🏻.

And people also say there used to be peaceful discussions on the forum but threaten and actually ABUSE people for supporting other opinions. Even if someone stopped you from having an opinion (which literally no one did), that does not entitle anyone to abuse somebody. Irony at it's finest, talking about peaceful discussions.

Yes it is OK to moral police other and mock other pov but one should not react to moral polcimg but aise hi chup chaap moral policing mocking sahe ?

Jo behaviour apne liye chahte woh doosre ke saath bhi waise hi behavior hona chahiye

Taali ek haath se nahi bajti

I'm going to tag you directly. I can provide the link to every post where we've had a discussion and conversation and also write down your messages here for everyone to see. Messages that I did not respond to because they were beneath me. Let's see whether anyone finds your "abusive" messages valid compared to the thread you are so offended by.
