That day, Nikhil had come to pay them a visit, that was the first time Aditi left the room and came out. But her actions were mechanical, she barely talked or smiled. When Aditi went back into the room, Vikrant confronted with Nikhil,
"Nikhil mere kuchh samajh me nahi aa raha mei kya karu. Aditi kuchh bhi nahi bol rahi, wo itni shant baithi hoti hai ke mujhe pata hi nahi chalta ke wo kamre me hai."
"Vikrant hum kuchh nahi kar sakte, Aditi ko waqt ki jaroorat hai, wo apne aap pehle jaise normal ho jaegi. Tumhe sirf uska sath dena hoga." Nikhil adviced vikrant, and the house fell into silence again. Just a week back this house was filled with laughter and banter, but now it just felt empty. After a while Nikhil left.
Next day Aditi told vikrant that she wanted to join the work again. Vikrant was hesitant at first,
"Lekin Aditi abhi tumhe rest ki jaroorat hai. Itne jaldi kaise join Kar sakti ho."
"Vikrant, mei thik hu aur din bhar kamre me baith kar mere dimag me wohi sab ghumta rehta hai. Agar duty join karli to mera dil behla rahega." Aditi said in a very heartbroken voice.
Vikrant couldn't deny her anymore. If she wanted it he will make sure she has it. He made a few calls and got it sorted out and both of them joined back. Nothing had changed there or may be everything had.
Aditi would spend her entire day in the evidence room and barely talked with anyone. Vikrant on the other hand, tried searching for reason behind their accident. As far as he knew there was nothing wrong with the car. Even the reports were inconclusive and this together with Aditi's silence drove him up the walls. He had started taking antidepressants, it had been almost 3 months. Aditi was so engrossed in her own world that she didn't even realize he was taking them.
Vikrant and Aditi were drifting apart from each other day by day, until they got a new case. It was about a missing child. A new born girl was kidnapped from the hospital. When they took the case vikrants initial thoughts were that of child trafficking, but aditi realized that the girl was kidnapped by a woman's spirit in the hospital, Shanti, who had died during child birth. While checking one of the hospital floors. The lights flickered and Aditi saw a lady sitting on a bench with a newborn. She tried to go near but was stopped in her tracks by the spirit. At the same time vikrant reached there with Shanti 's now 10 YO daughter. They tried to convince the spirit to let go of the newborn. Vikrant although could not see Shanti tried to communicate with her,
"Dekho Shanti, tumhari beti aayi hai, wo bilkul thik hai. Please us bacchi so chhod do."
"Haan Shanti, use mere paas de do. Mei vadaa karti hu tumhari beti ko kabhi kuchh nahi hone dungi." Aditi added as she walked towards Shanti. The spirit seemed convinced and handed the new born to Aditi and disappeared forever.
The child was handed to it's parents. Vikrant and Aditi looked at the happy family and something clicked inside the two of them. They could be this. They still had a chance. Aditi turned to face vikrant and gave him a big smile. It had been ages since vikrant had seen that smile and he smiled back too. His Aditi was back.
That night when they returned home and aditi was closing the door after them, vikrant held her hand and turned her around,
"I love you." Vikrant said dropping his voice by an octave.
"Accha? Aur mere pati ko pata chal gaya to?" Aditi teased him, snaking her hands around his neck.
"Mujhe nahi lagta wo mana karega." Vikrant replied pushing Aditi against the door and nibbling at her left ear lobe.
"Aur agar meine mana Kiya to?" Aditi asked suppressing her moan, but her eyes said different.
"To utha ke le jaunga." Vikrant said raising his head and looking deep into her eyes, which had darkened with want.
Aditi licked her lips and her eyes were fixed on vikrant's and that's all the encouragement he needed, vikrant moved forward crashing his lips into hers. There was nothing gentle about this kiss, vikrant and Aditi both had missed the contact. Aditi's hands had tangled themselves up in his hair and his grip on her became tighter, his hands almost clawing into her skin through her blouse. Aditi moaned into his mouth when he drew her even closer, their teeth almost clashing. Neither seeming to care until the need for oxygen surpassed the desire.
"I love you." Aditi panted.
She could hardly breathe against his mouth, her body heating up as vikrant nipped and stole more kisses from her. His one arm was still holding her tightly while the other wandered, drifting to the front plucking at the buttons of her blouse, Aditi bit gently down on his lower lip and he moaned against her, his hips jerking against hers before his hand slid underneath her blouse. Her hands were busy unbuttoning his shirt while pulling it out of his trousers at the same time. She managed to push his shirt off his shoulders and vikrant moved just enough to let her remove it completely. Their position was really uncomfortable for the act, so she wrapped her legs around vikrant's waist as he held her tight, sandwiched between his body and the door. He continued leaving a trail of kisses and bites down her body and Aditi stuggled to keep her moans quiet. She pushed at his shoulders and muttered,
"Bedroom", vikrant obliged and carried her to their bed and shut the door behind them.
Next morning, vikrant woke up before Aditi, her head was resting in the crook of his neck. Their bodies partially covered in the sheets. He moved the hair on her face aside, she looked calm, beautiful. Vikrant dropped a kiss on her forehead and Aditi snuggled even closer to him. Vikrant sighed and went back to sleep.
Life had resumed it's pace again. Aditi was her bubbly self and Vikrant didn't need those antidepressants anymore. Everything was back to normal again,
