"Aditi.. Aditi.."

Aditi was brought out of her thoughts when she heard vikrant's voice, she turned around and hurried to the bed. Vikrant was still unconscious but he was faintly muttering her name. Aditi held his hand in hers,

"Vikrant mei hu yahan, apni aankhein kholo vikrant." Vikrant's heart rate monitor started beeping rapidly instead. Aditi called out to the nurses and doctors and soon the control was in their hands. The doctor checked vikrants vitals and gave him an injection. This seemed to have worked for now as vikrant had calmed down. The doctor spoke to Aditi next who was standing in the corner of the room with tears in her eyes,

"Mrs. Singhal, dekhiye ghabrane ki koi baat nahi hai. Mr. Singhal ke reports se to hume lagta hai this is a case of hypertensive encephalopathy. Unke vitals to normal hai lekin aisa lagta hai kisi stress ki vajah se wo coma me chale gaye hai."

Tears rolled down Aditi's chicks as the doctor doctor continued,

"Abhi to hum kuchh nahi keh sakte, unhe hosh me aane me kucch din ya fir kuchh hafte bhi lag sakte hai." And the doctor left the room.

Aditi went and sat next to vikrant's bed staring at his face. She could see his eyes moving behind his eyelids, it was as if he was dreaming of something,

Vikrant woke up with a jerk, the last thing he remembers was they had met with an accident and Aditi was hurt. He checked his surroundings, it looked like a hospital room, a saline was hooked into his right arm. Vikrant pulled the needle out and stumbled out of the bed. He was about to leave the room in search of Aditi when he was caught by Suresh sir,

"Vikrant! Kahan ja rahe ho? Tumhe aram ki jaroorat hai." His boss tried pushing him back into the room.

"Aditi kahan hai? Wo thik to hai na? Mujhe abhi milna hai usse". Vikrant replied while getting out of Suresh's clutches.

"Accident ki vajah se uske sir pe chhoti si chot ayi thi, wo abhi OT me hai." Suresh informed vikrant.

"Mujhe abhi vahan jana hai sir. Mei yahan aaram nahi kar sakta. Muje Aditi ke pass jana Hai." Vikrant started walking in random direction, dashing into random people on his way. Suresh Dutt caught him by arm and took him to the OT. They had to wait outside as the operation was still in progress. A car was found crashed in the woods by the locals early this morning. When they searched around, they had found vikrant and Aditi bleeding and unconscious on the ground. The locals had immediately contacted the police and transported these two to the hospital. That's how Suresh Dutt came to know about the accident and immediately reached the hospital.

The OT light stops glowing and the nurse comes out,

"Sister, Aditi?" Vikrant asks her desperately.

"Dekhiye unka operation ho chuka Hai aur hum unhe abhi room me shift karnewale hai. Aap unhe wahi dekh lo." The nurse replied and left vikrant standing helpless there.

Aditi was shifted to the room and vikrant and Suresh rushed towards the room. Vikrant entered the room and saw Aditi lying unconscious on the bed. He rushed towards the bed and caressed Aditi's face.

"Aditi.."

The doctor in the room spoke while going through Aditi's reports,

"Mr. Singhal, accident ke waqt Aditi apne pet ke bal gir gayi thi and we're really sorry, hum apke bacche ko nahi bacha paye."

This hit vikrant like a hard blow, he got so furious that he got up and caught the doctor by his collar and pushed him at the wall. Suresh sir, tried stopping him,

"Vikrant apne hosh me aao, isme doctor ki koi galti nahi hai, unhone apni puri koshish ki hai. Tumhe apne aap ko sambhalna hoga, vikrant is waqt Aditi ko tumhari jaroorat hai."

Hearing Aditi's name vikrant calmed down but he could not stop the tears. Aditi was still unconscious, and he had to be the bearer or bad news when she woke up. Vikrant took a seat next to Aditi's bed, Suresh Dutt patted his hand on vikrants shoulder and vikrant couldn't hold it anymore. His boss left after a while and vikrant was left alone with Aditi in the room.

Aditi woke up in a few minutes, the only thing she remembered was their accident and her and vikrant being thrown out of the car. She immediately got up and felt the pain shoot up in her entire body and she groaned in pain. Vikrant heard her and sat next to her on the bed. Aditi saw vikrant and she leapt into his arms.

"Vikrant tum thik ho! Mei dar gayi thi ki mei, mujhe laga mei tumhe kho dungi."

Vikrant didn't say anything and Aditi looked up at him now. His eyes were swollen, looked like he had been crying for a while now. Vikrant simply looked at her with a blank face and just shook his head in a "no". Aditi understood what he meant, she didn't need words. She hugged vikrant tightly and they cried, and cried. Their world had been torn apart and it was too much to handle. They spent the entire night crying in each other's arms. The baby had been a part of their lives for just 10 weeks now, but it was theirs and they had lost it. There was no one that could heal that.

Everything had changed now, Aditi was advised bed rest for a few weeks and vikrant had taken leave of absence. He had to be strong for her now. For the first week Aditi did not even leave the bed. Every time vikrant went in to check on her, he found her curled up on the bed and crying. She had completely stopped talking and there was nothing he could do help her right now.
