Hello friends

Am supposed to stand-in to do the updates for 4th march in place of the regular updater, so here it goes...seriously, nothing is special, dont' get excited 😕

1. Kanakku is polambufying to his wife about how he is house arrested and kept here by Othakkai-subbu (there are 4 guys for kaaval outside) he says that he is caught between this OS who asks him to tell the truth along with him and surrender to the police, whereas, this SKPD who is on jaameen will do anything to get back his gold blocks and kill him. meanwhile this OS comes and again says that this SKPD is a criminal, better to tell the truth so the punishment is less, but kanakku says that this police who are supposed to protect will come and give me a white cloth after my death ... 😆 😆 😆 (seriously i found this dialogue very funny, nothing serious)

shifts to next scene, our RK mama (he is irritating me now .. ) comes to Abhirami's house. on one side him and PP on another side consoles Abhirami saying that whatever she thinks (that of seeing mom and dad together) will happen one day. she says, 'i want to see them together for atleast a day', PP and RK console her again. (i really didnt' understand the relevance of this sequence for the story .... 😡 )

2. Jamuna and her former daddy (i just forgot his name) posing as reporters in Ooty area come to some place in search of this vedi-murugan (ayyo murugaa..) a guy appears in front of them and says that he knew they were coming, its a small place, news travels fast and then says some philosophy (not necessary for us now...puhlease.. 😕 ) and continues to say that people are taking about 'vedi' being in "Aanaipallam region" but he could be anywhere. He asks them not to report so prominently about him in news which will ensure many more criminals to arise. Both of them thanks him and go away.

next scene shifts to sarasu and nallan in the kitchen in abirami's house. they discuss about what is the relationship of PP, why she is not going with SKPD and why is SKPD angry, etc etc. they just get confused, but sarasu says that something is fishy here, we will find out one day.

PP searching around the house for abirami comes to the garden and consoles her saying why she is unhappy, SKPD my only son, who has done so much crime is happily on bail but we all are sitting alone and thinking, something like this. Ahirami asks who this Othakkai-subbu is, PP says he was a right-hand man for her son once upon a time now i donno and asks whether she has seen him. Abirami says that kanakku is in his custody only, so she has to find and bring him here so that he doesnt' say anything against SKPD in the court which could jeopardise her efforts for her father. she goes away.

next scene - Karthik asking for coffee to shanthi, meanwhile Anitha says she is going somewhere and goes away. Shanthi chides karthik as to why he did not ask her about where she is going, what she is doing, etc to which karthik says she is not a small child like Indu, etc. Shanthi says to a shocked karthik that she has seen with her own eyes about Rocky calling Anitha as mom and also the hospital record of her signature as caretaker, something like that. Karthik just shakes his head and doenst react.

3. Jamuna and her ex-dad report to JC and ACD. she says after investigating in ooty area and mettupalayam about vedi murugan as reporters, they conclude that the people donno anything much about him but people in those areas are aware of one "puli paandi" (who is this ...god... 😕 ) who is a close relative to vedi murugan. they just tell whatever we saw, thats it.

In the meantime, Jamuna gets a call and she announces its from SKPD, to which ACD gives his mobile in recording mode and asks her to record the convo. She picks up the call and SKPD says he is very sad to know of how her groom was killed, how he cried when he came to know about this in jail, he feels sad for her like a father, even though she only acted as his daughter, etc. She listens to him patiently, but explodes after a couple of minutes saying that he is only acting, he has taken revenge on someone unrelated to him, eventhough she was the one who wronged him (SKPD) acting like daughter. She shouts 'now onwards, she (Jamuna) is the number one enemy, i will come in person and meet you ...' ..freeze...

hope i have done justice without missing anything, if at all anything is missing, please feel free to fill in.

march 6th updates:

1. continuation of convo between kanakku and abirami. she asks him, where from is he calling, he tries to answer but the call gets cut, he tries to tell, but he doesnt have more money, he goes away dissppointed.

meanwhile, shanti's daughter comes with her progress report for a signature while shanti is working on her laptop, she chides her and asks her to go and get it from daddy. karthik is reading some book and he says, he will not sign it as he suspects Indu scoring low marks. but, he is surprised to find that indu is first ranker. she says that he promised to take her to the theme park if she gets first rank. karthik tries to dissuade her but she insists. shanti says she has lots of work and convinces both indu and karthik to go ahead to the park.

2. Othakkai subbu comes and marattufies kanakku's wife as to where he is is. she says that their child is sick and he has gone to buy medicines. kanakku comes back with meds and again subbu says he is taking care of his family like his brother, what will happen when he (kanakku ) goes out and SKPD finds him...?, he scolds and goes.

Abirami is driving in her car, there are a couple of vegetable vendors, iron man - all are mufty police placed stragically. all are reporting to somebody (i think its ACD) as she passes each one of them. she arrives in SKPD house with a luch carrier and places it. he is shocked and starts to tell something, but abirami stops him and says she knows she has no 'rosham' but she cares. she tells to a shocked SKPD that she has the gold blocks. he accuses her of taking aways his wealth, so asks her to return and also asks how she knows. she says, even if he doenst tell her anything, she comes to know of many things. also about how O-subbu has kidnapped kanakku and kanakku has run away coz, of this gold missing, etc. he asks her to tell where he is and whether she is together with o-subbu and kanakku in this. abirami says, she is trying to protect him because she wants him, thats why she wanted him to tell everything and she goes away with an angry SKPD looking.
Indu is doing HW and asking shanti to feed her, while arjun is eating with anitha serving him. everyone hears indu saying how she met 'rocky' at the theme park. anitha is visibly shocked and overhears. shanti sees of how anitha looks terrified. indu says by the time she introduced rocky to daddy, he was gone. shanti sees that indu had lost one of her ear-ring and scolds her.

3. next scene in orphanage. all kids are eating but rocky doesnt. he says he is not hungry, the boys says that his mom comes and feeds him nice goodies, thats why he is not hungry, etc. rocky goes to bed, he sees an ear-ring and wonders how it has come on his shirt.

O-subbu calls up abirami and makes general convo, but she just jumps at him saying as to from where he is calling and where has he hidden kanakku. now, subbu comes to know that kanakku had informed her. abirami continues saying that if he doenst give kanakku custody to her, she will go to the police and tell all about him, but, our O-subbu says thats not neccessary, he has decided to go along with kanakku and surrender in police and become approver, wants to tell all about SKPD and his dealings. scene freezes on a shocked abirami's face....!!!

ok...guys..enjoy...nothing much interesting, CR is just beating around the bush and stretching without much subject.... ayyO.... 😕 😕

Anandham – 7 March 08 (SKPD's End Nears??)

Scene 1: Continuation of conversation between Abhi and OKS. The latter announces his intention to become an approver, along with Kanakku; Abhi tries to dissuade him but to no avail.

Scene 2: Conoor. Marriage broker visits Jamuna's parents and tells them how difficult it has been to get another groom for Jamuna. No one wants to marry her, presuming her stars are bad since her groom was assassinated on the day of marriage. Broker says it would be difficult to get her a groom in the same town. He suggests that she either leave the police force or find a groom within the police force (see, ground being laid for you know whom to step in). Broker leaves and distressed parents discuss how it was unwise of them to have agreed to let Jamuna join the police force.

Scene 3: Jamuna's dad calls ACD and polambifies (the first time in my life that I am using this word!). ACD promises to seek vengeance by finding the man responsible for killing the groom but dad says no point. Her chances of marriage have been ruined; is this the reward for her duty and bravery, blah, blah, blah. (Veena music in background is tugging at the heartstrings.) Dad hangs up saying don't tell Jamu I called; I just needed to share my grief.

Scene 4: SKPD pondering in garden. Henchman reminds him it is time to go to police station to put down his signature. SKPD defiantly says before I put down my kaiezhuthu I need to change two people's thalaiezhuthu. Just then Vedi Murugan calls from a phone booth in Metupalayam. SKPD recognizes the Metupalayam code and refuses to take the call, leaving VM fulminating and threatening vengeance.

Scene 5: Priya visits Jamuna at home. Expresses surprise and delight to see Jamuna back at work. Some sentimental exchanges. Jamuna says "your Durai" was the one who instilled duty consciousness in me. Priya is taken aback: "my Durai??" Jamuna says why wait for marriage to refer to him as your Durai. More mushy dialogues. Priya remarks, "Durai Sir has trained you to speak well". Jamuna declares that she wants to sacrifice the rest of her life to duty and become an exemplary officer. Priya replies, "Surely Durai Sir didn't teach you that you must sacrifice marriage in favour of duty?" She ends by saying she hopes Jamuna will attain her professional ambition but will also become a good wife and mother. She pledges to create a way for Jamuna in this respect (yes, she will play marriage broker, for sure). Jamuna offers coffee/tea but Priya declines, saying she will wait for Jamuna's wedding banquet.

Scene 6: Court room. SKPD's hearing. Prosecution announces its first state witness … tang ta tang … OKS. (Triumphant look on ACD's face.) Taking his oath, OKS spills the beans about SKPD's misdeeds, beginning with Veerasamy's murder. Flashback showing the murder. OKS mentions how Mutthulakshmi found out about the murder and left SKPD. (Missed some dialogue here because of poor reception on uploaded video but I doubt it was significant.) OKS adds how SKPD later tried to kill him too.

Then, next state witness … A nervous Kanakku! After duly taking his oath, Kanakku tells on his former boss – how SKPD killed Mahesh, his failed attempt to kidnap and murder Priya out of spite for ACD, his meeting with Sivaraman and how he gave refuge to Joe.

Watch out for a continuation of the court case on Monday as scene froze on Judge's pensive face.

10.3. 08 Monday

Recap of Kanakku's testimony - goes on to talk about the gold biscuits - Murugesh murder, SR becoming friendly with SKPD , SKPD having the gold in his pooja room, Kanakku changing that to the car when there was a raid, arrival of original Joe, retrieval of the voice recorder ..... well, it is a dream but for a change not Abi's - SKPD's dream (grrrrrr well what do u expect from a director like CR??? Beating
around the bush... looks like he manages to loose weight just by that action!!!!) SKPD picks an elephant statue and thrashes it on the floor (exactly, my sentiments!! wish I could break a few heads like that!!!) Priya waits for ... lo and behold...ACD who arrives there late (so, what is new??) ACD utters a few "sorry Priya"s and the woman actually smiles.. laughs....(he looked actually happy thinking that all is well with his romance!!! one of those rare casual. easy and happy looks!!) ACD wants to know the reason for such an urgent invitation and a serious Priya is all set to break his heart (and a few others' as well in IF!!) Priya wants to know the wedding date for ACD's marriage and he is ready to tie the proverbial knot if Lady Immature gets some mature sense. Priya surprises us all " ippo enakku pakkuvam vanthaachu" -
ACD is ready to do it right then and there. But Priya needs to get the green from the bride. Well, now she spills out her excellent logic and shows us her supreme brain power - "Jammu is the bride. U got her in to all the trouble with SKPD and so u have a moral responsibility to her". ACD now gives his opinion on Priya " U were immature
alright but now what u say is madness"(could not agree with u more!!! In the first place how did u fall in love with such a girl???) Anyways, ACD wants to leave the place ( seriously, I can second that move!!) but Priya has decided to show all that her little brain can think of - " we loved each other for 3 years but we hardly met and even on the times of our meeting, we hardly exchanged sweet nothings or as much as a laughter!!! Jammu is the ideal candidate for u. If u respect me and my sentiments, u should marry her and give a life. Do not worry about me,
I can fend for myself ( if ACD decides to run away from this woman at this point, I will jump to drive the car and remove him from that place!!! silly woman, what does she think??? he is some candy that she can hand over to whomever she fancies???? grrrr) ACD further creases his brows - the already furrowed ones suffer under such stress!!!! Bon,
he wore a dark olive greenish shirt and some ill-matching trousers!!!) He looks at his lady love with utter dejection.

Kanakku sends his wife and child to Jolarpet. He and OS are getting ready to go and surrender. Indra is worried about her hubby's fate but OS confirms that since they have chosen to surrender by themselves, the police will give them the due respect. Kanakku's wife leaves saying bye bye and stops the auto midway to make a phone call. the auto driver is unhappy about her sudden itinerary change but accommodates her. She promptly makes a call to SKPD (traitor Indra!!!) - all muted
talk and SKPD already has conceived a plan. Kanakku and OS leave - some one watches them and makes a call..... tring tring.. ( police??? SKPD's henchmen??? so fast??? athu sari, CR ninaithaal enna venaa seyvaar!!! by jumping to conclusions, we do not have the luxury of loosing weight!!!!) Car moves.

Hero is lying on the parapet wall - looks pretty precarious!!! (he has changed to a bright red checked shirt) Recalls Jammu's father shedding tears " antha ponna?? avalai yaar kalyaanam pannippa nnu kekkaraanga" - and all of Priya's wisecracks " u made her act as SKPD's daughter, u must give her life, we never shared any happy moments in these 3 years.. blah blah...." ACD has a pained expression. And mommy comes to see sonny lying like this. Asks him whats the deal and he immediately says "nothing" - he was too quick to negate and mom perceives that some thing is not right. ACD confuses her - was adept at that!! - "I have a case which needs to be solved. Unfortunately I am the thief and I have to play police as well..." Mom expresses her confusion and ACD goes along with her inference. OS calls Abi and informs that he and kanakku are on the way to surrender(athu enna eppo parthaalum oru announcement to Abi???) - "gave u a few chances to reform your dad. U did not cash it and u failed to be a good daughter to your mom. So, I have no option now, bye bye" Abi hears a click before she could say some thing. She decides to go out and paatti wants to know the destination -" 12.15am now!! ippo enge pore??" Abi sings a lullaby to paatti and takes leave -" oru important work paatti, I will be back soon" - leaves hearing the voice of OS.

Recap - Abi - lullaby - leaves on some important work. (she only heard the voice of OS but she visualizes him talking!!!) Abi sees inspector Babu with a traffic constable. The car in which OS and Kanakku are coming has a flat tyre. Kanakku is unhappy about the choice of OS -
" enna car pidiche??? puncture nnu solraan??" The driver has no spares and so OS asks him to hail some car on the road - the trio just knead their hands and try to stop a car which does not oblige. Abi reverses to avoid the police - Babu stops all white ambassadors - well, now we know that the call must have come from the watch ward!! (If the police knew where OS and kanakku were, why did they not nab them??? wanted them to surrender??? CR kku enna idea nnu theriyalaiye... thalai suthal aa irukku??!!) well, a call taxi comes and OS gets in with kankku. Abi is driving (yaar enge poraangannu onnum
puriyalai??!!) Looks like Abi has decided to scan the streets of Madras in the night all by herself to catch OS and Kanakku!! She might succeed because CR has absolutely no respect for the police force!!!! This part has just cars on the dark roads... police check..... OS and
Kanakku on the road.... must have happened at different parts of the city!!! (athu sari 1 year stretch panna vera vazhi??!!!) Abi looks sheepish!!!

Next we just see a group of people standing in a circle around some thing?/ some body??? and putting their fingers on their lips... a police car comes and the inspector asks the constable to turn the body???!!!
yes, it is OS who is no more and the constable recognizes the face -"ivanai partha ella police station kkum info tharanum nnu order irukku sir. Ivan per othakai Subbu" (konnathu neethaanaa sol sol sol Abiraami??!!- kanakku enge?? SKPD thalli kittu poittaraa???) ACD gets a call from the control room with the info on OS - ACD asks if there is any visible marks to report and is told that he has been hit in the head with a heavy object. ACD runs to JC and reports (marupadi kOttai vittutOm sir... azhugai azhugai yaa varuthu. Intha CR panra kodumai thaangalai sir...) Just then ACD gets a call about Abi's midnight sojourn - the PC does not have any other info on her. JC infers -" must be SKPD's job.Our enemies are sharper and faster than us ( appa da ippo than puriyarathaa?? nanga oru 2 years aa ithai than solrom, ketta thaane??) - we are loosing our weapons one by one!!" Abi is serving food and SKPD is eating heartily ( when did they reconcile?? thought that SKPD drove her away!!! ithuvum dream????
ayyooo Roja is tearing her hair apart!!!!) After he washes his hands, Abi voices out her doubt " I do not know if I can serve food for u tomorrow!!" SKPD wonders if the world is coming to an end but Abi says that the police will be here soon to arrest him for the murder of OS!!! SKPD says that he was sure about Abi's betrayal but Abi says that she is going to accept the charge. Now goes on to say that she is doing it out of paasam and informs the truth - " u can smell your enemies from miles away but can not perceive your relatives, yes.. me... is... CP .." SKPD has visions of the baby.... Abi.... baby... Abi ... Pappa and daddy looking at each other and Abi can not help showing us that smirk.. (this woman has the same expression for every thing!!!
now we know how she managed to drive away any one who came near her!!! - well, if this was so easy why did it take so long for her to convince daddy dearest????? ) SKPD pushes her in to his car and leaves.

Papa and daddy arrive at pappa's house - daddy is pulling pappa with his hands - calls out to his mom... Camera goes around in a circle ( CR sir ungalukku aanaalum romba lollu thaan!! unga habit ai camera
vazhiyaa kaataringa??) Daddy is all emotional and says "Abi ennai mannichudu" Abi tries to show shock and ends up with her smirk!! -"sir" SKPD " innum ennamma sir, call me appa" Abi calls appaaaaa
, paatti has tears of joy... Nallan peeps from upstairs (ennamO avar oru princess mathiri, peeping down at the king's court!!) SKPD asks about the delay in informing the truth and Abi is crying...(antha expression
innoru kashta kaalam!! intha amma kku villi thanam onnuthan nalla varuthu , all the other expressions are punishments for the viewers!!) "Jammu came as your daughter and cheated u. I could not proove that I am your CP..." Paati for her part says that she wanted to tell him every thing but he never allowed her to talk.."nee ennai pesa vidalie Raja///" (apdi podu aruvaalai, rajaaa nnu chellam konjufying!!!) SKPD now says " that is why, I am not going to accept her as my daughter even now...." Paatti and pethi are shocked....

Well folks, that was not a dream!! Daddy and pappa have reconciled (CR at last must have realized that if he continued with the dream sequences, the viewers might start seeing the serial only in their dreams!!) Daddy takes out his chain and adorns pappa - " I hereby
solemnly announce that my daughter, CP is the sole heir of all my properties and crimes. I am glad that I sired such an ace criminal, in spite of an honest wife" - Daddy hugs pappa and paatti is overwhelmed ( Abi once again prooves that she is just not the type to show any emotion successfully - a pathetic attempt!!). Of course Nallan
watches the whole show. Charu on the phone with Madan-" I should be back next month. Lots of people must be happy that our company is slowing down. Well, let us change all that and put our company on the top of the share market, say what??" Madan agress, disconnects and smiles at the mobile -" ennai mathiri oru dullard kitte business ai kuduthuttu, ipdi oru dream aa ungalukku??? hmmm". Nallan arrives with the news and imparts. " SKPD knows the truth only today. Abi is his sontha magal ( well, he could not have borrowed such a pappa with traits so alike!!) Omni now has to ascertain her smartness -" I had my own doubts when she took PP home and cared for her." Madan has the most weird reaction -" awww , thank God I divorced her. Other wise
I would be the SIL of a rowdy!!" Mahathma RK deems it fit to break the whole mystery - " no Madan, u would have been the SIL of a gunavathi" - all are waiting for him to unveil the picture.. atlast, he says " Muthulakshmi aka Charu" - shock and disbelief written large on all faces.( or do we see greed in Madan's eyes??!!! awww what an amazing truth??? Abi is so rich??? how about a reconciliation???) The only person who is really shocked by the revelation is Nallan - he has no axe to grind!!!

ACD on the phone with Charu - she wants to hear the death of SKPD but ACD says that OS is murdered. Charu is upset - " he gave me life 30 years back !!!!" Charu is worried about loosing the only witness and ACD consoles " do not worry, if we frame him well for the new cases, he can be behind the bars for the rest of his life!!!" Charu voices our concern " Philosophy pesi kaariyathai kOttai vittudatheenga" - ACD must have winced but manages to emit a short laugh. Kanakku surrenders in the court saying that he murdered OS and shows a steel pipe as the murder weapon. Judge remands him to judicial custody.
ACD, JC and Babu arrive at the court, take charge and Kanakku
is led to the custody as some royalty!!!

Rocky is waiting for Indhu - outside her school. ( this kid is a different one) Sees Indhu and hands over the ear ring. Indhu is happy that she got the earring back. She wants to take him home with her. Narayanan convinces the lady from the orphanage using the name of Omni and RK and takes the boy home with Indhu. The children are in the car. Indhu takes her book and Rocky answers all Qs correctly. Narayan finds
out that Rocky always comes first in the class and laments about Indhu failing in spite of tuitions!!! ACD, JC and Babu - inquiry of kanakku -" how much money did u take for accepting this crime??" Kanakku is determined -" I murdered him and so I surrendered. No money, nothing" ACD says that he knows the truth and asks Babu to hand over the murder weapon -" now how did u hold this and how did u murder? demonstrate" Kanakku just holds the pipe in his hands and
has a good look at it!!! ( what if ACD had asked for the source of the weapon??? If kanakku had shown the jack used for changing tyres in the car, it would have been appropriate!! Rojaaaaa, this is the only loophole that CR gives the police, what is your problem???!!)

13/3/08 Tursday

Recap of ACD and JC with kanakku - starts with ACD asking kanakku to replay the murder. Kanakku holds the rod on one side and shows that he hit OS with the other end. ACD now asks for the reason for this murder. Kannaku gives out the well rehearsed , plausible story -" he attacked me and I had to hit him in self defense" - he goes on to say that when the police arrested SKPD, he got scared and ran away. ACD asks as to why should he be scared if SKPD was arrested. Now Kanakku sings SKPD puranam - " SKPD is a very pious man, sir. Has a trust which educates loads of students. Every day he extends help to more than 50/60 people. He is a gem of a man, sir". Both ACD and JC
show exhaustion in their faces. Kanakku goes on : "OS met me and told me that he will get me a job. But later, he tortured me asking about where SKPD kept his black money. He offered to give me a share
also. But SKPD ayya is a straight man and so I told him that I do not know any thing. That is when he tried to kill me and I had to hit back. I never thought that he will die and killing him was not my intention either" ( he is too qucik and coherent - raised doubt even for a novice like Roja!!!) Now JC confirms with kanakku that SKPD is not guilty of any crimes and they get up. ACD says" Sir, this guy has prepared well and so he is not going to give us any other version. No problems Sir, for this murder, he will get a life sentence. We have a few more cases on SKPD - we can frame all that on this guy and make sure that he hangs as well" - both leave and kanakku looks scared/pensive.

SKPD gets in to his car and the parking lot guy comes for the parking
fee. Looks like he was one of those cronies of baldie who recognizes the boss. As SKPD pays the money, the guy informs that vedi Murugan is very angry with SKPD for not paying the money as promised and he intends dealing with SKPD. Baldie says tha the has crores and crores of wealth and the 5 lacs he promised to Vedi is jujubi for him. He says that the police are watching his every move and so he finds it difficult to reach the money to Vedi. Also says that Vedi has to wait until the coast is clear -" otherwise avanaale enna seyya mudiyumO seyyattum" - car leaves.

Abi enters mahathma's house. - Madan is outside and gives her one
of those distasteful looks - calls some one and says that he will sign the contract next day -" innikki sagunam sari illai. oru vidiyaa moonjiyai parthutten,a than" - breezes past a stunned Abi ( hello, he called u a dog last time... every one in that house have told u in no uncertain terms that u are not welcome - apram yen marupadi angiye pore???)
Abi looks sad (??!! pray why??) and goes in. Omni comes and ignores
ex SIL. Baggage comes and Abi says that she is here to see maama.
Karthik calls out to RK who welcomes ex DIL with open arms. Abi informs that SKPD has accepted her as his daughter and she needs Mahathma's help to unite with mommy. RK promises to do all he can. Indhu and Rocky arrive, Rocky gets introduced, Indhu exhanges
pleasantries with periamma..... Omni seats the children in the dining table... Abi leaves. Anitha comes down the stairs. She is shocked to see Rocky there , goes to him and takes him with her. The rest all look
as if they are on the verge of unraveling a mystery ( intha track onnum puriyalai!!!! )

Pappa and daddy - daddy is sitting and supervising some building. Abi comes to have a chat with dad. Daddy looks sad and Abi apologizes for sending him to the jail " aww, that Rajadurai double crossed me dad, I engaged him to protect u but..." SKPD is back to his original self -"enna ippo?? avan namakku panna vendiyathai pannittan, ippo namba avanukku panna vendiyathai seythutta pochu!!" Abi is on advice mode now " no more crimes daddy. A frustrated ACD calls up Conoor policeman who is in charge of investigating murder of Jamuna's husband-to be and blasts him for lack of progress in investigation. (All the police extras look like the same one or two policemen who have been in SKPD's pocketbook; maybe CR couldn't get too many walk-on characters and the same one or two characters double up. Or they all look equally corrupt.) ACD warns that HQ knows about the utter incompetence of Conoor police so they'd better repair the damage to their reputation quickly. Policeman hangs up and says he'd better buck up so that he can get his promotion.

Comic relief. Srini and Vishnu head towards an Amman temple, whose praises Vishnu keeps singing about. He says it's a very powerful temple and disingenuously claims that it was his prayer on behalf of Srini that landed the latter a recent contract. A sceptical Srini asks why Vishnu had prayed for him, Srini, rather than for himself. Vishnu claims prayers will work only when you pray for someone else. An irritated Srini says that it was the heavy bribe he had paid that helped him clinch the contract. Srini then says if the Amman is so powerful why is it that Vishnu's own business is shaky. Vishnu sidesteps the question and continues his chatter, much to Srini's annoyance. Finally, Srini says he knows about the powers of this Amman temple and he's been visiting it for the past 20 years, so Vishnu isn't telling him anything new. As Vishnu continues his blabber, Srini threatens to turn atheist if Vishnu doesn't shut up.

Shanthi visits orphanage hoping to fish out some information about Rocky. Matron thanks Shanthi for bringing back Rocky and laments about the indifference of society at large towards orphanages and other charitable causes. Some high-minded exchanges take place then about the virtues of charity. Shanthi then says the purpose of her visit is to offer financial support for children of the orphanage who need medical attention. Matron says there are about 8 children with medical problems but the one who needs regular treatment is Rocky, who is often getting the flu and feeling weak (oh, ho, is he an AIDs patient? Maybe CR is going to use Anandham to launch an AIDs awareness campaign?) Matron says, however, that Anitha is taking care of Rocky personally. Shanthi asks why Anitha is taking special interest in Rocky. Matron is taken aback and hesitates to respond. Shanthi quickly says no, she was just being curious. Matron says they don't ask about the backgrounds of the children who come to the orphanage; they just take in destitute kids without question and look after them. Mission having failed, Shanthi flashes smiles, waxes lyrical about the orphanage and charitable work, thanks the Matron and leaves.

Temple scene. SKPD and Daughter arrive to sonorous Carnatic music. Priest asks whose name should archana be done in. Abhi says it's up to SKPD whether it should be done in the name of Abhirami or Chinna Pecchi. SKPD says Abhirami is better since the name CP evokes memories of a policewoman. SKPD instructs priest to do the archana in the name Abhirami and then provides the natchathiram and rasi, leaving Abhi pleasantly surprised that he remembers. As father and daughter are united in blissful prayer, none other than Srini and Vishnu arrive. (At the end of the temple scene, one inconsistency is revealed. Srini ends by calling for Ishwara's help, suggesting the chief deity of the temple is Ishwara. But, earlier, he and Srini were shown heading for an Amman temple. Looks like CR got lost along the way!) Srini is shocked to see father and daughter together again. He nervously tells Srini that if Abhi starts telling SKPD about his (Srini's) misdeeds, SKPD will surely give him a nasty archanai. Father and daughter finish prayers and confront Srini and Vishnu. Abhi has a smirk on her face as SKPD announces to Srini that Abhi is his long-lost daughter. (Srini is shown being shocked at this point. Perhaps he thought earlier the two were reconciled after a bout of SKPD's suspicion towards Abhi and didn't realise that the two had actually reunited as father and daughter.) Abhi asks Srini whether the reunion is a problem for him and Srini quickly denies that it is so. Father and daughter take leave and a shaken Srini invokes Ishwara's help.

Courtroom. JC and ACD arrive. It's Kanakku's hearing and police lead him into the courtroom. A lawyer arrives and tells Kanakku he has come to make a bail application (presumably sent by SKPD). Judge hears prosecution's submission, rejects bail since it's a murder case and remands Kanakku to 15 days' judicial custody. As Kanakku is being led away by police, his wife approaches him and tries to reason with him. ACD is shown waiting in his police vehicle. Looks like he might have egged her on. Wife is allowed to talk to Kanakku in private for a few minutes. She pleads with hubby to come clean about the case. She says he has been loyal to SKPD all these years but taking a murder rap on his behalf would be the height of loyalty (and an utter ludicrity). She points out that a murderer tag would hang on him for a long time, well up to the time his daughter reaches marriageable age. Police then take Kanakku away and Insp Babu is shown behind the wall. He had obviously overheard the conversation and will report to ACD. Camera then pans to ACD's face. Freeze.
