Chapter 1
Akash got a taxi as soon as he got outside of the hotel. He checked his mobile for the first time since last night, and remembered that he had completely forgotten to call Ananya back.
"Well I don't owe her any explanation, she's only a co-pilot! Not even my friend!" he muttered to himself. Still he was feeling a bit exasperated with the turns of events. After Natasha's scene, he didn't want to face another one from Ananya, and he felt he was going to hear another one from her also. Afterall women will always be women, he thought...
He looked outside and his anger slowly faded he caught the light rays of the rising sun. He soon reached the hotel and went to their room. He hoped that Ananya was already awake, he was feeling very bad if he was going to wake her up. He stood outside the door and knocked lightly. He waited for a few seconds, and then knocked again a bit louder. But still nothing! Thinking Ananya to be soundly asleep, he decided to go and check with the hotel receptionist.
"Good morning," Akash said with a smile to the receptionist.
"Yes Sir, what can we do for you?" she replied back with a smile.
Akash explained his problems, and was going to ask for a spare key when the receptionist stopped him and said, "Miss Rawat has already left the hotel Sir, here's the key to your room."
Akash was surprised at this, he had expected a lot a things, a scene or even a cold Ananya, but that Ananya had already left was something he couldn't digest.
"Well at least I'm spared of any explanations!" he said to himself while going to the room. He entered inside, and could still smell the fragrance of Ananya's perfume in the room. He took a deep breath, and controlling his thoughts pushed Ananya away from his mind. He quickly had a shower, got all his things together and left the room without looking at it for a last time. He knew that he had passed a lovely time with her, but some things were just not meant to be, and Ananya definitely was off his limits. So why waste time on impossible things, he was a realist man afterall. But little did he know that destiny would always go its own way, and it already had something planned for him.
Given it was his off day. he took another taxi and returned back to see Natasha. He had a few things to clear with her, she was one of his best friends but nothing more, never more.
However by the time he reached there, it seemed that even Natasha had left the hotel. Upon enquiring he learnt that he had missed her by a few minutes.
He swore because he knew that Ananya and Natasha was going to be on the same flight going to Delhi from Jaipur. He tried calling Natasha, but she didn't pick up his call. He decided to call Ananya, but even she didn't answer at all. He swore again, and then decided that he'd just enjoy his day off, and to hell with women. He thus switched off his mobile and went to get lost in Jaipur. Besides he had a few things and some people to meet up with.
A few hours earlier
"Everything is ready?" a man asked on the phone. He got out of his car and looked at the airport infront of him.
"All is ok," someone uttered on the other side of the phone.
He gave a smirk and took out his luggage and went to check-in.
This will be a day which will always be remembered, at least for a few people. It was funny how easily people could be bribed lately, just throw a bundle of money, and anything can be done.
She walked away angrily. She didn't believe what Natasha had just told her, but then she didn't have any reason why not to believe either. She was right, she should always listen to her head where Akash was concerned. Natasha's words rang in her mind, Natasha had just insulted her, and said such obnoxious words to her. All because she had felt sympathy for Akash and let him sleep on the couch. It wasn't as if she had slept with him, yet Natasha had just accused her of something like this. She had been so spellbound that no words had come out of her mouth. She tried to speak after a few seconds, but it seems her ability to speak had left her, and she could see venom in the eyes of Natasha.
Finally she decided against any excuses or explanations, she had done nothing wrong, and she didn't deserve such words. She raised her chin, looked at Natasha with defiance and went away. Thankfully Natasha hadn't created any scene, had only dragged her in a corner to say her venomous words. Still she didn't trust Natasha an iota, she knew it wouldn't take much time before the news will be circulating. Had she done a mistake by taking pity on Akash? Maybe she should just have left him on the couch... Her mobile started to ring, and Captain Akash's name was flashing on the screen. She waited till Akash hung up, and then called her sister, she had to speak with someone or else she'd go crazy.
"Hi Di," her sister's voice said happily. "So how was the impromptu night? Fun? Met any good looking guys Di?" her sister continued to tease her.
Ananya was completely lost, and like always she knew she could confide in her sister, even if her sister was younger than her, she still reacted more maturely than Ananya at times. She took a few seconds, and her sister knew instinctively that something was wrong.
"Di, kya hua? Sab theek to hein?" her sister asked.
Ananya started to confide to her sister about what happened last night, and once she started everything poured out even her eyes became damp. After having recounted everything, she waited for her sister's views. And like always, her sister knew exactly how and which words to use to comfort Ananya. Within a few minutes, she was almost laughing at her sister's words, and she could now deal with the outside world with a clean conscience.
She went to the main lounge, where all captains and hostesses were waiting for their flight. She needed a calm mind, afterall she was flying with Captain Rathore. She could see Natasha standing in a corner and staring murderously at her. She ignored Natasha and sat down reading a randomly picked magazine.
After about half an hour, they had to leave for their plane, and she walked silently behind Captain Rathore. She bore with the flight and Captain Rathore's arrogant words with silence, and thankfully soon the flight was over and the plane had landed at Delhi.
She called her sister to inform about her arrival, when suddenly she heard gunshots and people shouting and running in all directions. She was trying to grasp what was happening, when someone knocked into her and she fell down and her mobile broke. She tried to get up, but her ankle hurt a lot. She looked around herself, but everyone seemed to be in panic. She tried crawling towards a corner, or someplace where she could hide, but before she had even taken a few steps, she felt the presence of someone behind her. She turned just in turn to see something coming fast at her, and something hit her head and she faded into darkness.
