That was the essence of what I took away from the episode to be sure but there is lots more I want to talk about so here goes.
It looks like the whole Singh family is in self-destruct mode with TTS ready to press the button at any time. He has maneuvered things so beautifully that Pintu has even forgotten that hours before he was rushing home to get his dad to confess, an act that could still free Ganga from jail much faster than the bail or a protest could. TTS is enjoying the results of this conflict in having his son back on his side and being in complete control of the family with his dramebaazi and his scheming. This is the perfect situation for TTS, his ideal equation and once he is in that position, it is indeed very hard to shake him out of it.
My heart went out to both Pintu and Krishna today. Pintu's every instinct was willing him to listen to what Krishna had to say, to see hope in her eyes and to feel that peace he felt with her once again. But he is too vulnerable and angry and TTS is far to active and vigilant at this point to let Pintu follow his instincts. I also loved how Krishna came to speak to Pintu and refused to listen or speak to anybody else. There was a singularity about her mission and her purpose. She concerned herself with Pintu and Pintu alone and her unwavering gaze and that constancy of her presence almost had Pintu willing to listen, but TTS was there again to stop it.
I think it is a testament to the depth of Pintu's connection to Krishna that TTS has to keep pulling the cheapest and most drastic stunts to detract his attention from the BDO madame and the flame of truth shining bright in her eyes. Pintu is naturally drawn to the truth and we see that here too, but he is also a very emotional person and while Krishna respects him enough to give him a choice and only request 2 minutes of his time, TTS leaves him no choice in his course of action through his emotional atyachaar.
I was so relieved to see VP! Krishna is never totally alone until she has him. If the Singhs can show their family solidarity, so can at least one branch of the Raj family. He catches Krishna when she is about to emotionally combust and understands exactly what she needs to hear. I don't know why but I never find his speeches tacky and it is a constant thing of wonder to me when they are so cheesy by any standards. I loved the poem and how it has been repeated at various points through the story. Plus, it is a beautiful poem.
Ganga Devi further differentiated herself from VP today when she was facing the investigation. Because VP cooperated, Krishna was able to trace the cable guy, Pintu was able to do his little autograph stunt and they were able to prove his innocence. Ganga is making herself more and more guilty by the minute of multiple crimes. Krishna was the picture of patience today, especially when the one time Ganga opened her mouth was to personally attack and emotionally blackmail her. TTS is allowing his family to spiral into more and more complex problems, so that he can quietly escape with none of the blame.
I like how they are sort of outlining different thresholds for justice in the characters. At this point, all of them have snapped, asking the law to be bent when it doesn't suit them, save Krishna and VP.
Finally, I just loved Krishna's expression when she looked up at the grovelling Babloo. There was an element of disgust and disappointment, I felt along with that of helplessness. It must be awful to have the one who taught you to be this way, asking you to change. Part of me wishes Babloo would say, just kidding, this is just another test for my honhaar student but alas! This is the real world and Babloo just asked for Krishna to break the law, without acknowledging it would be wrong. 😭 Asking nicely doesn't count when you are asking an officer to abuse their post!
I want all of them to GROVEL in the end, especially that wannabe abla nari, Ganga. 😡
