@Shri: This is one of your best write-ups that I have ever read! I enjoyed every bit of it. I know that poem was recited by the narrator during the re-evaluation promo but I think there were other laces too. It is indeed a beautiful poem and I thing falls into line with the title song of the show that I am absolutely gaga about. I listen to it once a day and it never fails to give me goosebumps and a burning desire to make my dreams come true! 😆

But I have to ask, how did Ganga's quesitoning remind you of that particular quote of Marie Antoinette? I would have thought more of her reported demeanour just before she was executed, where her last words were "excuse me" because she stepped on the executioner's foot or something. So when you said Marie Antoinette, I thought of that. How did you connect it to the infamous cake quote?

I think I can justify Babloo (though not forgive him) for his emotional plea by saying that he wasn't asking her to break the law absolutely but just to prepone the results that would come out tomorrow in any case with the bail. I was also surprised to see him not have the courage to face and speak to his brother and father about the bail situation. I don't know if it was because he didn't need more emotion on his hands, but he immediately turned and spoke to Krishna. God the poor thing must have been miserable turning that plea down when he has indeed done so much for her. As Krishna Raj, student of Babloo, friend/confidant/premi of Pintu and daughter-of-PA of TTS and Ganga, she would love to help. But BDO Krishna Raj is in charge, and she is none of the above before being a BDO.

I also liked your point about them having helped Krishna for their own reasons as much as for her good. She had just started actually asking Pintu for help and that was purely because she thought she could count on him not to hold her accountable. So much for that. 🤔

I absolutely loved the connection with the question-answer verses. At each one of them I was nodding along thinking of yesterday's drama. I found the one about a traveller's friend being a companion especially touching with regards to Krishna's journey and the role that I would envision Pintu playing in it.

Sam,

😃 Glad that you liked the yaksha-prashna & Yudhishtir-uttar.

>>>But I have to ask, how did Ganga's quesitoning remind you of that particular quote of Marie Antoinette? 😆Because...Marie Antoinette category to me is inexplicable. She is nature's product and only Mother Nature or God know why they created that category. From the very beginning I found Ganga character being irksome to me. She starts making me a wanting to go away from her. She and Marie characters are grand in stature, have a dignified aura and a presence that makes people revere them. But all that is good as long as they are quiet and mute. Because if they open their mouth to present an independent opinion, one will just feel ashamed at oneself for having put them on a pedestal that asks for our reverence. Even today most Indian husbands especially from conservative provinces want women like Ganga to be their wives. She would look like a Lakshmi-Parvathi for the Grihalakshmi roop, but having no voice at all helps the patriarchal set-up. She would be called a susheel, vinamr person and all...but no one would know that she is not capable of any thought. I know all are ranting here she is an inspiration to her sons, but frankly I have not seen that through my eyes. All that just seems forced.

Cutting short my meandering ..why I remembered cake quote. Marie was genuinely concerned at that time that her people did not have bread to eat and in her concern she suggests the alternative cake ...which is truly baffling to anyone who knows about the situation and the difference between bread and cake.
Today Ganga, had she sat there all silent and mute, because 1) she genuinely did not know what to say and 2) she did not want to end up giving statements without any advice from her well-wishers..basically feeling she is not counselled enough ; I would have respected her for her thoughts. But no. She was ready to snub krishna at any chance she had, ignoring all other officers before Krishna, and being completely silent and unresponsive in an arrogant feudal lady style. And when she spoke, she was speaking the totally irrelevant thing. She was hardly concerned that she was getting herself netted. And that energy gave me a hint that she did want to speak more, just that she didn't know how to. So Ganga trying to have a mind at all, made me remember Marie. Cannot say insensitive for having a thought, a concern for her loved ones, reacting that way because she thinks she is cheated...but how far was she from reality. 🤢 She couldn't read the frustrations of the other male officers, their exacerbation at her attitude...what kind of existence is that, I wonder.

True. Pinto was being developed nicely along that path, only to be met with an accident causing him go off-track and having to cut-short his journey 😔
