Rumors squashed: Akshay Kumar to continue as the lead in Rowdy Rathore 2?

The internet was recently filled with reports suggesting that Sidharth Malhotra has replaced Akshay Kumar in the sequel to the 2012 action-comedy film 'Rowdy Rathore.' However, the latest report has clarified that while director Anees Bazmee is in talks with producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali to helm 'Rowdy Rathore 2,' there has been no discussion about replacing Akshay Kumar with Sidharth Malhotra. Kiara Advani is indeed being considered to star opposite Sidharth in the film, but nothing concrete has happened on that front.

The report also states that Anees Bazmee is currently prepping for his upcoming film with Shahid Kapoor, aiming to take it on floors in July or August. 

So, he would only be able to consider directing 'Rowdy Rathore 2' after he wraps up this comedy with Shahid. This means that the 'Rowdy Rathore' sequel is not happening anytime soon, especially since Bazmee also has the sequel to 'No Entry' to concentrate upon.

This news relieves Akshay Kumar fans, who were worried about him being replaced in the sequel. Instead, the actor will soon begin shooting for 'Hera Pheri 3' with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra is busy with his upcoming projects, including Rohit Shetty's 'Indian Police Force' and 'Yodha' with Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. Both these films will see him getting into some hardcore action.
