Ranveer Singh and A.R. Rahman to perform at the IPL 2022 finale closing ceremony

As per the latest reports, Ranveer Singh and music artist A.R. Rahman will perform at the closing ceremony of IPL 2022 which is going to be held tomorrow at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Indian Premier League 2022 final will be held on May 29th, 2022, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India. In the final, Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans (GT) will face Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals (RR). Before the last game of the 15th edition, a concluding ceremony will be held, and it has recently been revealed that Ranveer Singh and music artist AR Rahman will perform in it.

Sourav Ganguly, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), confirmed the news to Sport star on Tuesday, adding that the Board will also put on a show to commemorate India's 75th anniversary of independence, which will depict the history of Indian cricket over the last seven decades.

"With Ahmedabad hosting the final, we will celebrate the 75th independence of the country, marking the journey of Indian cricket with a special show," Ganguly commented. 

The ceremony in Ahmedabad is expected to draw Jay Shah, the honourary BCCI secretary, Sourav Ganguly, and past Indian captains. According to reports, the entire IPL 2022 closing ceremony will most likely last 45 minutes.

This is the first time the Indian Premier League 2022 has been held in India since the IPL 2019 season, when Mumbai Indians won the title. The cricket league was relocated to the United Arab Emirates because to COVID-19.

For the unversed, Aamir Khan will also attend the ceremony to premiere the highly-anticipated teaser of Laal Singh Chadha on the day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 finale, in addition to Ranveer Singh and AR Rahman's performances. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya stars in the film which will be released in theatres on August 11, 2022.
