Kochi, Aug 22 (IANS) Though some peppy songs from 'Heartbeats' have entered this list, it is 'Adimegha' from Mohanlal starrer 'Alibhai' that tops the charts.

The top five Malayalam songs are:

1. 'Adimegha' - Film: 'Alibhai'; Music: Alex Paul: Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry: Singer: M.G. Sreekumar. Director Shaji Kailas always finds a situation to fit a Kavadi song in his films with Mohanlal, irrespective of the backdrop. This is yet another successful example.

2. 'Vakkozhi' - Film: 'Heartbeats'; Music: George Peter; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry; Singers: Jassie Gift, Pradeep Palluruthy, George Peter, Sarina, Shruthi and Kalayani. This is a typical campus song with a group of singers led by Jassie Gift, with almost everyone in the cast getting an opportunity to dance.

3. 'Kadukittu' - Film: 'Hello'; Music: Alex Paul: Lyrics: Sarath Varma: Singers: M.G. Sreekumar and Sangeetha Prabhu. In this song, Mohanlal dances to please his fans.

4. 'Thirike' - Film: 'Arabikatha'; Music: Bijibal; Lyrics: Anil Panachooran; Singer: Yesudas. Lyricist Anil Panachooran has got a lot of mileage from the film.

5. 'Chella thamara' - Film: 'Hello'; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: K.S. Chitra and Sangeetha Prabhu. This is a token song giving importance to singer Chitra.
