Sikandar vs L2 Empuraan Box Office Collection: Mohanlal Outshines Salman Khan with Rs 219 Crore in Just 6 Days

Eid 2025 brought two massive releases to the big screen—Salman Khan’s action-packed Sikandar and Mohanlal’s much-awaited L2 Empuraan. While L2 Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, hit theatres on March 27, Sikandar, helmed by AR Murugadoss, arrived three days later on March 30. Both films were expected to storm the box office, but after six days, Mohanlal has taken a strong lead over Salman Khan.

On its opening day, L2 Empuraan created history by earning Rs 67 crore worldwide. On Day 2, it dipped slightly with Rs 34.5 crore, followed by Rs 35 crore on Day 3. However, Day 4 saw a bounce-back with Rs 39 crore. With a strong weekend showing, Empuraan clocked Rs 175.5 crore in just four days.

Meanwhile, Sikandar had a solid opening with Rs 50.25 crore. Thanks to the Eid holiday on Day 2, it managed an impressive Rs 44.50 crore, even surpassing Empuraan’s second-day collection. However, the momentum slowed down afterward. Day 3 saw Rs 28.50 crore, followed by a steep drop to Rs 13 crore on Day 4.

On Day 5, which coincided with Eid, Empuraan collected Rs 26.25 crore, and another Rs 17.55 crore on Day 6 (Basi Eid). This brought its total 6-day worldwide collection to Rs 219.30 crore. In contrast, Sikandar struggled on weekdays. It only managed Rs 8 crore on Day 5 and Rs 6.50 crore on Day 6, pushing its total to Rs 150.75 crore globally after six days.

This means Empuraan is leading Sikandar by a massive margin of Rs 69 crore at the worldwide box office. The Mohanlal-starrer is now eyeing the lifetime numbers of Manjummel Boys (Rs 242 crore) and is expected to cross Rs 250 crore. On the other hand, Sikandar might settle near the Rs 200 crore mark globally.

With this box office war in full swing, Mohanlal clearly holds the upper hand, giving the Malayalam industry another major blockbuster.
