Continuing with her preference to cast fresh faces as leads in her new shows, Ekta Kapoor has cast a relatively fresh Karan Sharma as the male lead of her new show on Sony's Bayttaab Dil Kee Tamanna Hai. Few days back, she had made the official announcement that newcomer Sumana Das is the female lead for the show.

Adds the source, "Karan will enter as the three girls' knight in shining armor. When Kanchan (Priyamvada Kant), Shamoli (Sumana Das) and Kakon (Pragati Chourasiya) enter Mumbai, they face a lot of hardships. It is this guy who helps them get a job as domestic helps at his Boss's place." The source further tells us, "The role of the Boss is played by Shiv Subramaniam. His character is that of a high profile lawyer."
Apparently, Karan has the role of a sort of right hand man. Says the source, "Karan works as a driver. But he and his employer share a father – son relationship. Karan used to sell books at a traffic signal, when his Boss gets concerned about his condition and offers help. He brings the boy home, trains him and makes him his driver. But Karan is truly more than just a driver for him. As the boss who is still unmarried, treats him like his own."
Karan will have an interesting romantic angle in the show. Says the source, "When Karan helps the three girls, he notices that Shamoli has a lot of attitude in her. Karan who himself is not low on ego, finds her immensely irritating. With this tussle begins an unconventional love-affair."
Apparently, Urvashi Dholakia aka Karishma Mehra in the show, who is the self-procliamed torturer of the three girls, plays the sister-in-law of the lawyer.
When Telly Buzz contacted Karan Sharma, he refused to comment.
Karan Sharma has been finalized to play the lead in the show, but has not started shoot yet.. The actor was recently seen in Star Plus' Baa Bahu aur Baby as the blind guy opposite Baby. He was also seen in Imagine's Jyoti.
Balaji Telefilms' Bayttaab Dil Kee Tamanna Hai launches on October 6th, at the 10 PM slot from Monday to Thursday on Sony Entertainment Television..
