Fans are eagerly waiting for Don 3, as Ranveer Singh takes over the iconic role after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The film was first announced in 2023, but reports suggested that production had been delayed. However, director Farhan Akhtar has now confirmed that Don 3 will begin shooting this year.
In a recent interview with India Today, Farhan Akhtar addressed the speculations surrounding the film. His statement has put an end to the rumors of postponement.
I’m not avoiding any questions. Don 3 will begin filming this year, and 120 Bahadur is set to release by year-end.

Last November, Excel Entertainment also responded to reports of delays. In an official statement, the production house said, “The makers and Ranveer Singh are on the same page that the timelines of Don 3 remain unchanged. Any such news of postponement is not true. With the timelines firmly in place, the mandates for Don 3 remain ambitious—delivering a cinematic spectacle that lives up to the franchise’s legacy while setting new benchmarks.”
In 2023, the makers shared a special announcement video introducing Ranveer Singh as the new Don. The actor also posted a childhood picture of himself reenacting the legendary character. Expressing his gratitude, Ranveer wrote, “I understand what a great responsibility it is to be a part of the Don dynasty. I hope the audience gives me a chance and showers me with love, the way they have for numerous characters over the past so many years.” The film will also feature Kiara Advani as the female lead.
Ranveer Singh was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which released during Diwali last year. Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is preparing for the release of his upcoming production Superboys of Malegaon, set to hit theatres on February 28. He is also working on his film 120 Bahadur, based on the life of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a Param Vir Chakra awardee.
