Deepika Padukone's ex Muzammil reveals surprising details of their relationship: "I was the first guy she...."

In a recent candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, model-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim revealed some heartwarming and unexpected details about his past relationship with Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone. The two, according to Muzammil, dated for two years in the early 2000s when Deepika had just moved to Mumbai and was starting out as a model.

Muzammil shared that their relationship was rooted in simplicity and innocence. “We were kids back then,” he said, recalling how they would often go on dates in rickshaws, especially during Mumbai’s rainy season. “It was so cute. We didn’t have much money, but we were really happy,” he added. At the time, Muzammil was already earning from modelling and music videos, and even managed to buy a car, something that made Deepika genuinely happy.

He fondly remembered one particular birthday celebration of Deepika’s, when he managed to get a DJ to play her favourite song on loop for over an hour. “We had no money, but the DJ was a friend and did it for us. She loved it,” he said with a smile.

Muzammil revealed that it was Deepika who had initially asked him out, but eventually, he was the one who ended the relationship. “I was the first guy she met when she moved to Mumbai. I was a star at the time, she wasn’t. Now she’s a superstar, and everyone knows her, while nobody knows me,” he said humbly. Despite the breakup, the two remained cordial and would occasionally exchange messages of congratulations until Deepika got married.

Speaking about her personality during those days, Muzammil described her as confident and grounded, acknowledging her upbringing as the daughter of badminton legend Prakash Padukone. Though they haven’t spoken since her wedding to Ranveer Singh in 2019, he expressed nothing but admiration for her journey.

Today, Deepika Padukone stands tall as one of India’s most celebrated actresses and is currently embracing a new chapter of life: motherhood. She and Ranveer recently welcomed their baby girl, Dua, and are basking in the joy of parenthood.
