Genelia claims working 10 hours a day amid Deepika Padukone’s Spirit exit row: 'It’s also an understanding..'

Following the birth of her daughter Dua, actress Deepika Padukone's request for an 8-hour work shift has sparked a significant debate within the industry regarding the working conditions of actresses after they become mothers. Amidst the ongoing discussion sparked by Deepika Padukone's departure from Spirit, Genelia Deshmukh has shared her experiences balancing career and motherhood. In a recent interview with Zoom, Genelia acknowledged the challenges of long work hours as a mother but emphasized that it's manageable.

“It is tough but it is not impossible," she shared. “I do work for 10 hours a day and there are days when the director asks to extend it to 11 or 12 hours. I think it’s fair but we just need time to make those adjustments. When you have a day or two where you have to overdo, it’s also an understanding and a process that needs to be done."

Genelia D’Souza will soon be seen in the upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. She will play Aamir Khan’s wife in the film. In a recent chat, she revealed how she received positive reactions from the film industry after the news of her casting broke out. However, she slammed Bollywood for not giving her opportunities after marriage.
