Aishwarya in hospital for delivery

Mumbai, Nov 15  Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has checked into the Seven Hills Hospital here for delivery of her first child, her spokesperson said.

'Yes, she checked into the hospital late last night (Monday),' Ash's spokesperson confirmed to IANS.

The Bachchan family has been eagerly waiting for the baby's arrival and has been busy for past few days with the preparations to welcome the new member.

'A day of expectation...but another day! The Lord has his ways and they are most special...we wait' father-in-law Amitabh posted on micro-blogging site Twitter Monday night.

Earlier, the 69-year-old wrote: 'The family gathers together from all over as we wait for the 'arrival' ... Greatest joy for me - a full house and the 'chahel - pahel' (hustle bustle).'

Aishwarya, 38, and Abhishek, 35, tied the knot in April 2007.
