I did some reading on the devadasi, young females servants of a temple, and it was quite reading. In the past it seemed that these girls/women, were highly respected and very leaned in the areas of dance and music. At the same time they often became concubines to wealthy men of the community, but they had a standard of independence that wives did not. Nowadays the system is looked on as a form of prostitution, and I am exploring this from that aspect. All the players will of ZKM will be there but in roles that suit this lifestyle. Ultimately this will be a love story with my favorite paring, and I hope you enjoy it.😊

Aw thank you sweety! It's nice to know that my stories make an impression.

The show...I can honestly say that I only followed it for the time that I did, for the female lead, but all of the supernatural elements did my head in...so you can rest assured that this will be a naagin free story.😆. Plus the male lead did not do it for me at all so I did not stick around for long.

I was intrigued however by the concept itself, and loved the thought of overcoming a curse that would keep two lovers apart, and have come up with this. And why MehRya...well cause I love them, and their characters actually are great stand ins for the story, especially with the difference in their status. Since you probably can relate to it better, as you are familiar with the show, you see how the curse was fulfilled after Meera of this story found true love with our Mehek is the result of this union...more backstory will be given as story is revealed, and Mehek learns more about her heritage.

I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Aarti, thank you so much. I had prepared the bones of an introduction, and loved it so much, that when I came across it recently, a full blown story came to mind. I hope you enjoy it.

Kelly, this is totally a different angle of Mehrya, you indeed have touched a very sensitive topic

of Devadasi pratha and I do belong to the state which followed it can say that even though it was

practiced with lot of pious and devotion in the early days, took a very unpleasant/ugly turn later on

and young girls were victimised by the men who had their own vested interests. Now, it's all

behind us and this system has been abolished in the state.

Meera Sharma gave her life giving birth to the apple of her eye Mehek leaving the child under

the protection of her dad Susheel and he must have had a tough time bringing up his child borne

by a Devadasi. Shaurya is already in her life and seems to have been involved in some crisis

and Mehek is in the hospital fighting for her life. Interesting prologue Kelly and congratulations

on your new story.⭐️
