I am speechless tibs! Whatever I have to say seems paltry and ineffectual. It is not just your words, I am amazed at how you think! I saw fire, wind and rain and didn't see earth and sky coming! (Duh!!!)...just absolutely beautiful!
This is so rich, so full of possibilities that it almost feels like you are doing an injustice to the piece by rooting them in characters of ZKM. I hope at some point, you let them loose and give them another shape and mold into a story of your own. I would still like to read that too! 😊
How apt and heart touching is that description of mother and son as Earth and Sky! Earth who has always known the potential of her son has let him grow to fulfill all those and much more. She has nurtured his determination, his absolute resolve to grow beyond what people think he is capable of and prove his mettle. She has also protected and shielded him from those forces that could break his will or spirit and become an obstacle in this course he has set for himself. And what sacrifices she must have made, how much brunt of people she must have taken and how absolutely alone she must have been!
And now that he has reached a height that was unimaginable for all but her, his passion is even more powerful, his strength of will even stronger and he is now beyond her reach! She cannot offer him the comfort he needs. She realizes that and also that it is only rain that can give him the much needed solace. She is not begrudging rain for this, but is just a grateful mother! What a tribute to Mother-son relation!
And what you write about Sky is so beautiful! Vast, above all and unreachable. How lonely is that! You have said well, the inability of mere mortals to understand the vastness and depth of sky, to only want to reach out and touch and claw at it. And how that one thing the sky needs, companionship is unattainable for it! Sky looks at the struggles of Earth with fire and wind and offers comfort the only way it can - send its sole companion rain, to her. And now it has to wait...wait for earth, fire and wind to each take what it needs from rain and send her back to sky!
I can't help but see Fire, Wind and Sky as different faces of Showrya!
- Fire as the all passion, determination, rage that Showrya is. And both Earth and rain working in their own ways to help rising or reigning in this force!
- The willful, playful, wind that lets one forget everything and soar to great heights with it. It could be gentle, sensual or give into its restlessness and just take flight. We have seen all this in Showrya, the charming Showrya who has both Karuna and Mehak wrapped around his little finger, the irresistible sensual Showrya. He needs Karuna to be his nurturer and Mehak to be his love. I like him as wind the most. He takes from them as much as the fire does. But, he also makes it so much more fulfilling and rewarding for them.
- The distant, all-encompassing sky. Sky is a passive element, it allows all other elements to play and is an enabler for these elements. It's true self - its selflessness, its understanding, its compassion, its intelligence, its depth of character is all hidden behind fire and wind. The sky knows that if it gives into finding that contentment it yearns, it will extinguish the passion the fire burns with and will clip the wings of wind. How selfless is it that it stays away hidden to allow these two to flourish! To me, this is the true Showrya. The one who took the rage and willfulness of fire and wind, turned it into perseverance and resolve needed to accomplish everything he has. While the world sees the other two faces of him, it is Karuna and Mehak who have been able to peel the layers to his core and see him as he truly is!
Karuna is the very foundation that supports Showrya, without which his survival itself is questionable. And Mehek, with the fluidity of water flows through seamlessly, taking various forms and shapes as needed by Showrya , thus giving him the much needed balance.
Drawing from the Pancha boothas, what a marvelous piece you have created! Kudos! 👏👏
I do hope you connect the dots for us and give us your interpretation!
