First of all, I really like your UN. I was hoping it would not be a defense. I was just trying to analyse his character. :)

Like I just said in reply to another post, I think in his head, he sees Mehek as a prototype middle class person and thus the embodiment of everything he hates. But I do agree with it, it needs to be more spread out and not concentrated on just one person. I would like to see similar dislike even if it is in lower intensity towards others too for it be more logical.

His ultra-nice online persona is in line with the person he is with his grandmother. I think it's his most honest self, one very very well protected and hidden and one MS is somehow privy to. Of course the Nani angle was just introduced today so there's more shades to this man.

The thing is there have been a lot of other male leads in shows that have done far worst things. I have been trying to figure out why we are all so upset about how Shaurya behaves, when comparatively it doesn't seem as bad as his predecessors. But perhaps that's a discussion for another day!

Would love to read your take on him too!

Hey...Kash...! First of all...sorry for not replying earlier...it just slipped my mind...! 😕

What a bright and thoughtful analysis...! On a personal note...I think not the character Shaurya that should be toned down...but the dialogues, to make it a little bit less offensive and regressing for those who're disturbed by such languages...!

Me...I'm not taking it negatively...because, I'm hear to watch an intense love/hate story...and not, some boring lovey dovey one...! For me...Shaurya and Mehek are fictive characters...so, I'll just brush off all the negative vibes...and enjoy the show...!

I completely agree with you...it's too early a stage to tone down Shaurya character...! By doing so...not only the character will be ruined...but, the show also will lost it's real essence...!

As long as we don't get a flashback of Shaurya past...we can't say that his actions and behaviors are out of character...! There's is a story behind every person...! There's a reason why Shaurya is the way he is...! Everyone deals with unimaginable pain in their own way...and everyone is entitled to that without judgement...!

You're so right...Kash...! One becomes very chary and suspicious about anyone and of everything...when one goes through life feeling constantly used and cheated...and it does nothing, but make you bitter...! May be..Shaurya went through such situations in the past...which are hurting him from inside and which are still very much present...!

But...I'm ready to give these behaviors of Shaurya towards Mehek a miss and not condemn him...only if there's a genuine reason behind it...! I don't want him to turn out be a snobbish swine who has an offensive air of superiority...and tends to ignore, humiliate and disdain anyone regarded as inferior...!

Though...I didn't like the fact that Shaurya put Pammi and Mehek in the same basket...! After...that Delhi cooking fiasco...he keeps on calling Mehek a cheater...! From which angle is Mehek a cheater...? Wasn't it Shaurya himself who encouraged Mehek to take part in that competition...assuring her that she's doing nothing wrong, as she's only giving a helping hand...? If in the eyes of Shaurya...Mehek is a cheater...then, sorry Mr Shaurya Khanna...in my eyes, you're even a bigger cheater...as you've encouraged a cheater to cheat...!

Secondly...whatever, problems Shaurya has with middle-class people and their alike...it's un-acceptable and unjustifiable to make fun of a woman extra body weight...and that too coming from a man...! It's so insulting and humiliating for a woman...😕

The first response when he figures MS is Mehak would be deception. To win the competition she has friended him. but slowly he will realize that she is selfless and doesnt know his identity.

@wadia-👏 with you.

@TM- after watching y'day's episode I think behind the mask, there is a charmer. Will take some time for him to drop it infront of the FL.Not before he deals with Daddy issues.

Thanks for the compliment.

As you had predicted - his layers started to open with yesterday's episode. I still think his hate/dislike towards Mehak is OTT. Let us see how he behaves with other contestants.

I thought he hated middle class people because he himself had risen from that status. However, his interaction with his father indicated otherwise. Now I am really curious about his reason to hate middle-class people.

His Father probably cheated on his Mother with a middle class woman, and he probably left the family to be with her. Maybe that's it
Regardless of all the very well thought out analyses for his rudeness, he is insecure and rude and for a public figure that is just not done...keep your feelings to yourself and be diplomatic, and gracious, like Rajiv
