^^ Comment whatever you like. Like I said, I don't understand the point- you didn't like the non-Pakistani shows, you stopped watching, right? Well plenty of us didn't. Many started watching because of the introduction of Turkish dramas.
You said somewhere that you only connected with Pakistani shows because of racial similarites.. now that's a minority opinion. Turkish and Korean shows do well all over the world because they are well-made enough to connect with the audiences, regardless of race. Anyway even if you think it's rubbish, why are you happy that the other people who love and wanted more global content are left without an option now?? That's a very self-centered way of thinking.

I'm just glad that Zindagi atleast started airing Turkish shows else earlier I was stuck with nothing to watch on TV. May be they'll come back and again start airing new shows. Or we could request other channels to do so.

Pls don't fight guys. The entire fault is of Zindagi channel. First, dependency on Pak shows only. Then dependency on Turkish shows mainly. They should have maintained a balance while airing the shows.

^^ You are right, but it's not Zindagi's fault entirely. The current political climate is heavily anti-Pak and the channel was under pressure to not air those shows. When Zee boycotted this week's India-Pak match, there were so many people claiming that they should down their "anti-national" channel first. There is very little it takes to be termed as anti-national these days and people to boycott it - for a channel with such a niche following, it would have been self-destructive. Well it's still ending but at least we got a few good months I guess

Well channel shuts down when? When non Pak shows telecast. So who is in minority?
And there was no pressure on Zee. Goel started drama to curry flavor with the government and you guys fell for it. Anyway this forum is as flop as Zindagi shows so enjoy the last few days of the forum.

I am just glad that Zindagi aired some good shows of other countries as well. Thanks to Zindagi I got a chance to enjoy so many good dramas. Be it Korean drama or Turkish or Ukrainian I enjoyed it a lot. May be some other channel will start airing dramas of different countries in future.

Well I don't think that the channel is shutting down due to one factor whether it is not airing pak shows and airing dubbed shows of other country. I think buying content from any country is costly yah maybe pak is selling their serial at low price compared to turkey or Korea. The fact remains is that the channel would have shut even if pak shows were not banned becoz-
There is limited viewership of zindagi compared to Hindi serials
Hindi TV industry sees airing foreign content as a threat though its a baseless fear and majority of people shifting to zindagi seemed like a dream even in long run.
Zee limited is a patriotic business house. This means that in any way if anybody question them regarding their airing content going against national interest, they eradicate that. This happened with stopping of pak serial which was kind of justified and is again happening now. If zindagi channel was held by star GRP then they would have fought tooth and nail against it.
But yeah really thankful that zindagi at least gave an insight to vast supreme content of nations other than US and UK

One of the major reasons why a channel like Zindagi broke into the urban audience and earned subsequent popularity was because the channel started with Fawad Khan as the face of their programming, then most of the good pakistani shows had been liked and the actors became popular too.
Due to the cultural similarity and composed writing urdu shows were liked by the audience, and sadly the content had to be pulled off.

I will be grateful to the channel, because i made new friends in the forum due to Fawad's shows, and most of us had great time discussing the shows.

Zee is not such a patriotic business house. In Middle East they work with Pakistani actors. Their news channels invite Pakistani panelists. Basically convenient patriotism which fools fall for.

I still think the patriotism reason is a convenient excuse. It's true that when Pak dramas were stopped, there was a lot of pressure on Zee. But then how come Zee Studios have co-produced Hindi Medium which has Pakistani actress Saba Qamar in the lead? And apparently there is another Bollywood movie coming up which has 2 Pak actors in lead roles.
Only Fawad was singled out for attack. And no prizes for guessing why. Maybe the Ranbirs and Ranveers weren't threatened by him but he was certainly competition for the likes of Varun, Siddharth and Arjun.

Anyway, coming back to Zindagi, maybe they didn't feel it profitable to buy and translate foreign shows when it's obvious from this forum that so many people (including me) have online access to these shows already. But they are being short-sighted if they think I-F represents their entire audience.

The web content craze is still in its growing stage. Let's see if it can sustain. In a country where high-speed internet is still a dream for most, I don't see it extending beyond the urban audience.

Whatever finally happens, I will remain eternally grateful to Zindagi for giving me two of my favourite shows--ZGH and Fatmagul. 😳
