Maano ya na maano Zindagi channel couldn't sustain without Pakistani shows. These Turkish and other shows could never match up to the popularity of Pakistani shows and actors due to racial and cultural differences.

No matter how digital or tech savvy we get, the average Indian (including me) prefers watching dramas on TV rather than online. Watching one episode of Sarabhai in a week is fine but watching a week's worth of TV shows online is gonna be a pain and I'm quite certain I wont be able to do it.

Apart from my usual Eng Entertainment channels, this is the only channel I watch, what am I supposed to watch when it shuts down? 😭

Zindagi's was always supposed to be a niche channel with global content so I don't understand how it comes as a surprise to them when they get low TRPs. Even so, they have an honest fan base who appreciates and loves their content. Instead of packing it all and moving online, they could've tried to bring better shows. Why are they shutting down the entire channel??

I personally was looking forward to watching Ask Yeniden, and Ask Laftan Anlamaz and W Two Worlds on TV, but if I have to watch everything online, I think I'd rather prefer downloading these shows in HD quality and watching them all at once instead waiting everyday for OZEE to upload an episode.

Oh God! Now this is pure annoying.
You have a million other channels to show those idiotic TV shows, but we cant have one channel that shows us content that we enjoy watching. That one channel has caused job cuts, so maybe you should try creating jobs on other channels 😡

If they weren't getting TRPs, It was still okay to accept the Channel's shut down, but this is just insane. Now I'm officially pissed!!😡

Also Just because you stop showing these shows, in no way means that we'll stop watching them. This seems like a way to make us watch those crap shows all over again that we've been trying so hard to avoid. Please stop shoving them down our throats. Its a sincere request.

What local talent are they talking about 😕. Sorry, am Indian & I love my country , but the shows that are currently available on Indian channels mostly offer nothing new & are more TRP oriented, meaning one show is very much like the other & to top it these shows go on for years with nonsensical & illogical twists .
They just want to thrust these mindless shows on people like us also who prefer shows with content which run for a finite time! And of course, they must already have plans to remake some of the more popular international shows adding their own desi masala for eg. Fatmagul aka Amla ke whatever 😕. Seems the Indian makers cant tolerate some genuine international competition 😕. Instead of bettering the Indian shows' content, they choose to shut down the alternate content totally !!

This is so not done. So trp is not the issue. They can launch another channel to promote local talents. I dont understand why they need to shut down Zindagi for other Indian shows? There are many crappy serials which are getting good trp so whats the problem.

What!!!!!!!!!! Zindagi is being shut down becoz star, Sony, colors wants this!!!!!!!! First of all how dubbing international content is taking away Indian jobs??????? But more dubbing artists are being recruited plus its not like everyone is watching zindagi. The trp toppers are still those saas bahu shows!!!!!
So this means no new shows from now onwards they will just upload remaining episodes.

What a lame excuse!
If this is even true, then I would say that Indian channels are just plain JEALOUS!
But if they are so jealous, then why are THEY AIRING FOREIGN CONTENT OR REMAKING IT?😡
Yes, when ZIndagi used to telecast Pak shows, I even watched another Pak show " Aasmano Pe Likha" on Colors' Rishtey channel. That was in 2016. Similarly, I read on the Internet that Ask-i-memnu has already aired on the same Rishtey channel in foreign countries.
Coming to Star Plus, if they hate International content so much then why even remaking Fatmagul?
They also aired "Mera Naam Yousuf Hai", another Pak drama in foreign countries.

And if this is all related to giving employment in Indian TV Industry, then getting shows dubbed in Hindi by Indian artists, doesn't that mean employment for our own people?

How does Zindagi affect these major Hindi GECs when majority of the people still love watching Nagins, Makkhis, and never-ending sagas like YRKKH, Saathiya, YHM, etc. etc. ?
Why have they targeted us who wanted something of better quality? Why do we suffer as a part of their Business decision? Why bring a channel in first place that you would simply shut down one day because your patriotism suddenly wakes up? How do watching foreign shows make us any less patriotic? Where does this patriotism go when you copy foreign music, movies or shows? This is ridiculous.

No offense to anyone. This is just my opinion about the whole situation.

An iota of truth lies in the fact that cult hits like Fatmagul, AIM are being made/ aired by other channels here.
They could be under scrutiny & threat if original are being aired simultaneously on Zindagi.

The issue of low TRPs, lack of sponsorship have to be hard sell too considering the business plan was meant for niche audience.

So its combination of many factors for this pull out.

With our country's GDP at 127th position, VoD market seems far fetched.!!
