Hence suddenly this crops up. Otherwise what were they doing when Fawad was shooting the film and promoting it since May 2013?

From the article it looks like Fawad or any other Pakistani artist havent violated any rule or law but they plan to make rules tougher so that it becomes tougher for these people to comply. The Cintaa guys are essentially bullies and have caused many problems during shootings trying to extort money from producers. TV producers are their victims on a daily basis.
But if Fawad works with UTV or the Kapoors again these people are powerful themselves and will take care of any potential problems created by bullies. Lets not worry too much. Instead lets celebrate the jealousies have started. 😆

Irrespective of working with them again or not, i feel they are of great help to FK. They are the only people he knows so closely over here. And influence is a big deal with respect to such issues. So hopefully these things get sorted out. Sometimes i feel its a good thing that he debuted with the kapoors. they seem to be really really affectionate towards him😆 Am not sure whether any other PH could have made him feel at ease the way kapoors did IMO.

Khoobsurat Has Low First Week But Decent Trend

Khoobsurat grossed 16 crore nett in week one. The film trended well on weekdays with the daily collections on Monday to Thursday staying around the 1.50 crore nett region for all four days. The problem is a very low weekend total which has held the film back. This sort of trending on a better opening weekend and the film would have done well.

Khoobsurat dropped 30% on Monday from Friday but the sort of Friday it had to get the same or better figure as Friday. The film like Daawat E Ishq has done best in Delhi/UP with collections around 4.25 crore nett and Mumbai is the under performer with figures of around 4.75 crore nett.

The film has trended well on weekdays and there is no major release this week so the main competition will be Daawat E Ishq which Khoobsurat should score over unlike in the first week. it should be the top film of the week.

Khoobsurat: 1st Week Box Office Collections

The way Khoobsurat had seen good momentum building over the weekend with some good word of mouth coming in as well, it was mentioned in this very column that if the film manages to reach at the least the 18 crore mark in its first week, it had a chance to score well till Bang Bang arrives.

Well, now is the moment of reckoning for theSonam Kapoor starrer, what with a good 19 crorecoming in week one. Youth has liked the film for what it has to offer and though low start has meant a loss of 5-6 crore in the final run, the fact remains that it has managed to gain some good credibility amongst audience, trade and industry.

Sonam Kapoor in a still from movie Khoobsurat'

For Sonam Kapoor in particular, it has been a good sign indeed, especially after Raanjhanaa. Now she has yet another female centric film coming up next in the form of Dolly Ki Doli and her enhanced fan base coupled with some good acting abilities being demonstrated allow her to cheer aloud.

While 25 crore is a given for the film, it carries an outside chance of stepping into the 27-28 crore range. Though the film deserved better, for all involved - especially Fawad Khan, who has found a good entry point in Bollywood, and director Shashanka Ghosh, who now has found some good recognition - it is still time to celebrate.

CINTAA to take action against foreign " especially Pakistani " artistes who have not enrolled with the body
TURNS out that foreign artistes looking to work in Bollywood have a new rule to follow. Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) has decided that it will not allow foreign artistes to take up Hindi films and television projects if they have not enrolled with them.
Gajendra Chauhan, general secretary, CINTAA, says, " Only those who have come to India on an E- visa - and not B visa - can enroll with us. It may be pointed out that most Pakistani actors who have been working of late in our industry have come to India on a B visa.''
Taking on Pak artistes?
He adds that CINTAA plans to take stern action against foreign artistes who will not follow this rule. " We have written to the External Affairs ministry asking for guidelines to be followed by Pakistani artistes who come to seek work here. Pakistan has not been kind to Indian artistes and their artistes come and take away our people's work here; this is not acceptable to us at all," says Chauhan.
He points out that Pakistani actress Veena Malik was asked to enroll with CINTAA when she was working in India. " Veena had told me that Pakistan does not issue E- visa to its artistes who come to India to work in the film industry," he says.
Enroll first
Chauhan also says that from now on, CINTAA will take a stand against foreigners - regardless of the country - who haven't enrolled with them. " Indian money is being spent abroad but we aren't getting much in return. It's time to change that by being firm against erring artistes," he says.
Khoobsurat actor Fawad Khan, Humaima Malik and an actor from Kapil Sharma's Comedy Nights with Kapil are among the Pakistani talent that has been working in India without an E visa.
