Amey Pandya on penalty bench in Zara...

This week in Zara Nachke Dikha, it is little Amey Pandya who goes to the penalty bench. Its more than often the boys who have experienced the penalty bench. Now, when the youngest and cutest member of the boy's team came on stage for the face off round, even he couldn't secure himself from this punishment.

Amey competed with Mouni Roy in a 'Bollywood item' number. Both of them got immense appreciation from the judges for their remarkable performance. Choosing one of them for the penalty bench was a tough decision for the judges.

Contrary to most of the boys from the Tez Talwar team , Amey has no complains from the judges for sending him to the penalty bench. He says, "I will be studying for a week as I don't have to practice dance for the next episode. I have immense respect for the judges, so I won't doubt their decision. Malaika aunty and Chunky uncle must have taken the right decision. I was touched to see every one's compassion towards me when my name was announced for the penalty. After the shoot got over, Malaika aunty came to cheer me up. She even spoke to my mummy about it."

This episode will air on Tuesday (26 July).

They've been called a couple for sometime now but the duo never rushed into things. Like a mature couple they waited till they got a green signal from their parents. The buzz is that Narayani Shastri has now found a place for herself in the Chopra house.
"Gaurav's parents are very fond of me and I respect them too," cooes Narayani. The lady has been spending time with beau Gaurav's folks in his home town. "Yes, I stayed at their place in Delhi when I was there for an event. The love and support they gave me was beyond my expectation."

The rumors floating around are that the wedding is schedule to happen soon. But Gaurav is in no mood to say 'I do.' "Marriage is an eventuality and it shall happen but what's the hurry?" Gaurav's stand is justified as the two are busy with their work and reality shows.

"Narayani is a wonderful person. We first met as friends and dated for a long time. I admire her strength," he asserts. "You know my parents have a new name for her. They call her Rani or Rani beti," he smiles. While all's well on the personal front, the couple has been battling it out on a reality show. "We've been pitted against each other in Star One's Zara Nach Ke Dekha and its great fun. The thought to out do each other is very challenging," says Narayani.

Despite the professional pressure, they feel that their personal life is safe and intact.

Zara Nachke Dikha gets tougher…

by Tellywatch News Desk

Aug 25, 2008, Mumbai

As the competition stiffens on Zara Nachke Dikha, Tez Talwar's and Meethi Churi's strive for their best. This week's 'Performance episode' has it all with a 'Flashback theme'.

Taking the mantle forward in the 'Tashan round' Meethi Churi vivacious Ashita Dhawan doles out a performance on the medley of foot tapping Hawa Hawai and Rock 'n' Roll. To go up against Meethi Churi's was Tez Talwar team's captain Ali Asgar, who created a laugh riot with his side splitting antics on 'Cheel Cheel Chilla ke' recreating the Kishore Kumar's era alive.

In the 'Zara Hatke round' where Delnaaz posing as Shammi Kapoor and Jennifer Winget as dancing diva Helen, perform on some peppy moves on 'O Haseena Zulfon Waali'. About their performance, Malaika gushes, "This song is very close to my heart and you have done entire justice to the song, you did not let me down". There was also this performance by invisible Mr. India Vikas Sethi and Sreedevi a la Amit Tandon on 'Kaate Nahin Katte'.

In the 'Hum Tum' round Bakhtayaar and Rupali with their compatibility groove to the tunes of foot tapping 'Tumse Mili Nazar'.

There is a group performance seen by both the teams in the 'Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom' round.

Also in the forthcoming episode, the boys' team - Chaitanya Choudhry, Bakhtiyaar Irani and Amit Tandon, as a part of their act, perform an extremely risky stunt. They delivered a hip-hop performance on Move Your Body (Johnny Gaddar), during the performance they had to hang on rubber bands from the top on a Diagonal board placed on the stage. It was pretty dangerous by virtue of the elastic nature of the rubber band. One wrong move and you could get thrown back and badly hurt also. Bakhtiyaar shared his near to death experience when he was nearly strangulated by the rubber band during the rehearsals. The other boys have to rush to free him since he was entangled badly and gasping / spluttering heavily. Amit and Chaitanya have got bruises and marks on their necks through the practice sessions as the noose of the rubber band went around their necks as well as backs. Chunky even commented (on a lighter vein) that this performance was a pain in the neck for them.

It's make or break time for the boy's team as the girl's team are way ahead of the boys ... Zara Nachke Dikha on Star One - Every Monday and Tuesday @ 9.30 p.m.

karan girlfriend sharddha Nigam Interview
From theatre to Television, Shraddha Nigam has come a long way. the actress speaks her mind on TV, movies, serials and of course the special someone in her life Karan Grover Singh

Chaitan Papnai

She was hardly 18 when she gave her first shot for the serial Parvarish. 'I was not at all nervous; I was calm, composed and well-rehearsed. The theatre background had given me enough practice,' says TV-actress Shraddha Nigam. Today at 28, Shraddha maintains the same energy, and is known for her roles in serials like Choodiyan, Maano Ya Na Maano, Kahaani, Darna Mana Hai, Krishna Arjun, Tu Kahe Agar, Saathiya, Dekho Magar Pyar Se and many more.
A science student, Shraddha got into acting at a very young age. 'I had developed this passion for theatre right in my college days. I used to participate in many plays and during one of my plays, an assistant-director spotted me, and from then onwards my acting career kickstarted on television. People spotted me on a Zee TV show called Parvarish and there has been no looking back since then,' says the stunner. 'I don't want to achieve anything now, but I just want to do better work and try to give my best to the audience.'
Shraddha has great hopes with the TV industry. 'As far as TV is concerned, I think it's great and developing fast. Nowadays, serials depict reality more than the movies do. TV industry is much bigger, as far as the work-culture and employment are concerned.'
Says Shraddha, 'I am an actor by profession. So I love to play different roles and what ever comes my way, I will always give my best to please the audience.' The actor has no plans to step into the field of direction right now, but yes 'one day I will definitely step into the field. But I'll never stop acting; both the things will go simultaneously,' she says.
Shraddha's next stop is Bollywood, with two lucrative assignments in hand. 'I can't disclose much about that except that one is a comedy in which you will also see many other TV stars,' she says.
Currently she is busy shooting for Pyar Ishq Mohabbat, a serial on Zee next. What kind of serial is it? 'I am playing the character of Kiya, who is intelligent, cute and a bit confused at the same time. My life revolves around my sister, Sanaa Bollywood actress. I play the secretary of another Bollywood star Angad, played by Sachin Sharma. There is a twist in the story when Kiya falls in love with her boss, who is also her sister's boyfriend. So it's basically a love triangle kind,' reveals Shradha.
Shraddha is not seen on Saas Bahu soaps. 'I prefer reality shows over these,' she says. She is also doing a chat show, a programme on the contestants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. 'It is amazing talking to the all contestants. They all are simple and down-to-earth people. It is nice to know about the struggle they all went through to reach here. We have a script and everything is done impromptu.'
Shraddha's boyfriend Karan Grover Singh has given her another reason to be happy. 'I've met Karan before, but once we met in a party, and spoke to each other for the first time and it has continued since then. One day we started chatting on the phone at night and the conversation ended up in the morning around eight.' Is Karan a better lover than an actor? 'As an actor he is quite talented and hard-working and as a lover he is also nice but I think he is much better as an actor. I am really excited to have Karan in my life.' She signs off smiling
PS:i really apologize if its already posted..

She's hot, she's happening and she's coming to judge you!

Yup, the hot and sexy Malaika Arora Khan is one of the judges of a reality dance show, Zara Nachke Dikha on Star One.

This is not the first time as judge for the item girl who stunned us with Chaiyya Chaiyya and Kaal. She was earlier seen in Nach Baliye (as judge) and Dhoom Machale (as host).

Malaika tells Rajul Hegde all about the show and her film EMI where she plays the lead. Excerpts:

What made you take up this show?

I liked the concept -- the battle of sexes. Moreover it is about teamwork.

How is it judging a gender based dance show?

It's beautiful and a nice show. There is full energy and I am having great fun as a judge.

How is Chunkey Pandey as a co-judge?

He is great and very understanding too. We have a lot fun. He has great energy and we gelled really well.

'I am like a school teacher'
Do you have disagreements with your co-judge?

Yes, a lot we but still enjoy fighting and arguing with each other. That is the part and parcel of the show. We normally solve it amicably and if we don't I always win the fight (Laughs).

The participants sometimes do not take the verdict sportingly and they question the judges. Comments.

It is bound to happen. Everyone has the right to speak. It also gives scope for discussion. When I feel something is right I put my foot down no matter what happens. I am like a schoolteacher -- I don't compromise. I am very strict in that way. Finally the participants have to respect the judges and their verdict.

What do you think is the USP of this show?

The show is youthful and energetic. Most of the reality shows tend to be the same. This show has a different concept and so it stands out.

'Wardrobe malfunctions are not nice things to happen'

Don't you think reality shows are done to death?

Reality shows are very interesting to watch. Most of the big shows all over the world are reality shows. It is the trend now and I love watching dance shows. I don't get time to watch other dance shows but I watch my show. Bigg Boss is again an interesting show which I watch whenever I am free.

My friend Farah Khan (director and choreographer) is a big fan of reality shows. Even if I don't watch them she will promptly update me. So there is no way that I can get away from it.

Recently, there was a minor wardrobe malfunction in your dance show. Comments.

Wardrobe malfunctions are not nice things to happen. It is very sad that when it happens, we make a big issue instead of sympathising with the individual.

What do you like the most hosting, judging or dancing?

I am more qualified as a dancer. So I enjoy judging.

'It feels good to be a style icon'
Who do you think is the best dancer amongst the boys and girls?

I don't have favourites -- all of them are good in their own way. They are entertaining, different and come out with some uniqueness in every performance.

Any favourite performance?

The favourite ones are many but I like the contemporary dance in the beginning. I liked the performance of Narayani Shashtri and Rupali Ganguly, and Ali Asgar and Bhaktiyar. The recent one is Vikas Sethi and Amit Tandon's performance on Mr India. It was really entertaining.

You are considered as a style icon. Comments.

It feels very good. Not complaining about it.

Who designs your clothes?

Ricky Roy and my sister-in-law, Seema Khan.

cheers
resh

"I'm very glad that my performance is being appreciated by the judges and audiences. With each performance now I have become confident about my dancing which is surely making me proud and competitive. Now it's time for us to say to the boys that girls are the best in every department. And with the competition getting bigger, boys have to work hard. I am sure there must be something happening in the boys camp with the whole Manish controversy but I don't want to comment on this," says Karishma.

Further Karishma said, "I'm rehearsing hard for each performance. It might be the Marathi Gondhal or Mithun style of dancing which require lots of practice and energy. I'm sure in the coming weeks there will be real and hard competition from the meethi churi ladki."

Watch out for Karishma's great performance on September 1.

KARAN-SHRADDHA LOVE STORY!
[27 May 2008]
"WE'RE HAPPY EVERY MINUTE AND THAT'S ALL THAT IS NEEDED"

They say one small wave pulls in other big ones, the same way one stroke of luck ebbs along with it bigger tides of fortune. Last year, around this time, Karan Singh Grover met the delightful Shraddha Nigam. A few months later, he trusted his instincts and signed up the now hugely popular teen show, Dill Mill Gayye. Since then, life has begun looking up and how!

Karan has made hundreds of youngsters fall in love with him through his portrayal of Dr. Armaan Malik and the fan base seems to multiply by the minute. We met him precisely six months ago and he filled us in on his budding equation with Shraddha. The simple clich 'we just clicked' perfectly describes the couple's chemistry.

We decided to meet both of them, the haute Krishna of Krishna Arjun fame and the adored Dr. Armaan, for a sneak peek into their relationship. Here is the duo, talking about themselves and each other. For all you fans feeling jealousy spasms running down your spine, brace yourself for the cute and very much in love couple!

They have recently retuned from a rejuvenating trip to the sunny land of Goa and are still visibly in vacation mode. I ask Shraddha to trace us back to how they met. She begins, "It started, due to a common photographer friend, although indirectly, and I am very upset about that. I wish it was directly and I wish he would have got us together and said, 'Hey Shraddha meet this really cool guy and Karan, meet this awesome girl.'

But that never happened. We saw each other's pictures at his studio at different times. The first time I saw his pictures I thought he was really hot; I didn't fall in love or something but I thought he was a nice guy as I had heard nice things about him. Every time I saw him somewhere, I was dying to tell him, 'Dude, your pictures rock and I really like them a lot.' This was his story too; he liked my pictures too."

To this Karan adds, "Yup," in typical boyish manner. Shraddha laughs and tells me that now we all know who the chatty one in their relationship is. She continues, "We met at some random event and finally complimented each other over the pictures and that's how the conversation began. We then met at another friend's party, Sanjit Bedi, indirectly again and I'm upset with him too. We had come to the party and we landed up together after that." Karan points out that their friend wouldn't be too happy about the mention but Shraddha doesn't really mind. "He doesn't like playing matchmaker but he didn't do that anyway. I think he should be happy about it," she says smugly.

How long exactly has it been since they are together now? Shraddha replies, "It has been a year; one year one month to be precise." She suddenly turns to Karan and admonishes him for distractedly talking to his friend. She playfully hits him on his shoulder and Karan yelps out in pain. "Oh, I'm so sorry; that's the bad shoulder! Can I kiss it?" she tries to make up.

"It still hurts when you press against it," he sarcastically says and then as if realizing they're not alone, he adds, "I got hurt on my shoulder; it has got nothing to do with the interview. But I've hurt my shoulder and my girlfriend keeps hitting it; because she wants me to suffer," he dramatizes the scenario.

Karan and Shraddha show all the simple signs expected of two people dating each other for sometime now. They know each other's small pesky habits, simple day-to-day preferences and dislikes and also share an unconsciously secret coded language of their own, developed from stories and incidents that only the two of them know well. It's all very cute and heartwarming, minus the mush.

Well, the famous cup of coffee followed after that eventful night at the party and they chatted on well into the morning. Shraddha giggles as she recalls, "What was funny was that I lived hardly 30 seconds away from there and had got my car along. Mr. Karan Grover here, suggests that he drops me, in my car, to a place that is two blocks away!"

Karan interjects, "That's because I did not have a car at that time so I had to drop her in her car." Shraddha chimes in, "That's because you wanted to be with me, liar! He asks me, 'Can I drop you home?' and I was like, 'Uh, I have my own car.' The point is that even if you have a car and if I have my car then I don't need to be dropped. I thought in my mind, this guy is weird," she chuckles.

She paints the picture for us, "So, in that U-turn of dropping me home, which was less than 20 seconds I promise you, he asked for my address and which floor I lived on. When I asked him why was he inquiring about all this, he tells me that in case I change my mind about day after tomorrow's lunch, he would know where to find me.

And I'm thinking, 'Oh my God, he is a stalker!' The beauty is, I'm driving my car, the control is in my hand and even though I enjoy the talk and flirting with him, I'm dead sure that I want to call it a night. It is three o'clock and I want to go home and sleep. And I'm approaching my house and he goes, 'Hey, I'm not really sleepy, you want to do coffee?'

I'm driving and I look out the window thinking, 'No Shraddha, say no. It's three in the morning and there's this random guy and you want to go for coffee with him?' The next minute I turn to him and say, 'Yah, sure I'd love it," she says with a huge smile and bangs her head with her fists, feigning regret.

Keeping in mind, this was a tte--tte with them as a couple, I ask the pair to let us in on something we don't know about them - a quirk, an oddity. Shraddha immediately answers for them and Karan agrees, "Both of us don't comb our hair or iron our clothes. Ever. I don't own a brush or a comb, nor does he. And we love food; shit we eat so much. We went to Goa and between the two of us, we would order a table full of food and we have been asked if we are expecting more people to join us."

Coming back, Dill Mill Gayye has boosted Karan's popularity with the viewers to an unimaginable degree and Karan takes it well in his stride. There was a frantic fan who called screaming into the phone, 'Karan I love you' and I asked Karan how he handles all the attention on a normal day.

In all modesty he replies, "It just shows me that people are watching my work; that's about it; it comes with it. It has skyrocketed only after Dill…I have had people asking me how it feels to have my first show become a success. Then I tell them that my first show wasn't a hit and that's why they don't know about it. But it's nice; it's good. That sudden burst of fame after DMG…it is still bursting," he says gratified.

Shraddha adds her personal encounters with Karan's growing popularity. "I visited this one Internet site where there is a seven page discussion on his nostrils!" Karan acknowledges his craze and says, "Some of the fans that come to the shoots, all very sweet; each have about at least 700-800 pictures of me."

To which Shraddha says, "Some of them have those huge cards too; it is extremely overwhelming. I really want to stock all of this. It would be nice to look back on when you are 80 years old," she says wistfully. Karan only laughs, rolling his eyes and calls her 'My overoptimistic girlfriend."

Shraddha hesitantly confesses, "You know, I have this strange problem. Earlier I've had people who liked me and generally thought I was a decent actor; Shraddha Nigam rung a happy bell in people's minds. For a long time, all the women were so upset that he's dating someone that fans in general, started disliking me. And I was like 'What the hell! You're stealing all my fans; they don't like me anymore.'"

On a serious note, she adds, "It's all settled down now. People call for him on my phone and leave voice mail massages for me saying, 'We love you both together' and I thank God for that. Or else, I was so sure that I was going to be the most hated chick or something; I'm glad that didn't happen."

Karan is known to be a favourite among the women and is a self-confessed flirt. How does Shraddha deal with this? She smiles, "Yeah, yeah, everyone falls in love with him; it's a good thing." Karan blushes and adds mischievously, "No, there is a lot of lust also. There are no problems created as such; it is something that you expect will happen; and it happens," he says as if accepting it as part of the whole deal.

I tell Karan that we met with Sonia Singh and he laughs and nonchalantly asks, "You met Sonia; that's nice. And how was it? I meet her ever day. She is a sweet girl yaar; what can I say?" I ask him how he handles such predicaments. "I don't handle it; she is someone I work with and that's about it."

I move on to asking Shraddha about her hiatus from the television scene, since a while now. After Krishna Arjun, she seems to have slipped into exile. Shraddha protests, "You made me an obsolete person who hasn't faced the camera since 20 years!" Karan chips in for her and tells me that she was just on vacation. Is Shraddha's vacation coming to an end soon?

"It isn't anything like that. I haven't committed myself to a very continuous body of work but yes, I do pick up stuff that I like that comes along. I am happier that way till I don't come across something that I really love in a longtime, continuous sort of a way. It is not like I am not working. Probably, I haven't come in a way that people saw me in Chudiyaan and Krishna Arjun, the big one that went on for four years, has not happened.

But I am still working and I love my life; I am the kind who takes it easy."
Karan, on the other hand, has been widening his horizons. He was part of Bhram-An Illusion and is also working in Saurabh Shukla's I M 24. Karan says, "In I M 24 again, I have a small comedy role; it is a funny film. It should be out in another couple of months. I am open to anything that comes my way; anything that works out for the best."

Refreshingly, Karan has never been one of actors who complain about the workload of this industry or the tight schedules that come with being the lead actor in a daily. "I don't know but I have seen and noticed that I always have time for everything. I don't even have to make time; I just have it. I have time for my friends, I have time for my girlfriend, I have the time to go to the gym and shoot and watch movies and shop; I don't know how."

Shraddha reminds me that he does all this despite the fact that he shoots everyday for long hours. "He makes time to meet me and my parents; he makes it for everything. Well, it's simple; he's superman," she concludes. And Karan adds in a mock tone, "But don't tell anyone." Half to herself, she grumbles, "I sound like one of those fifth standard girls in love," and suddenly hits Karan (on the same shoulder).

I ask the duo what plans they have for the future and whether marriage and settling down is on the cards soon? In a coy manner, Karan replies, "I'll let you know." It was heard that the two of them had gone ahead and gotten secretly married. Shraddha acknowledges the rumours but passes them off as hearsay.

"Arrey, strangely enough, I've had people coming up to me on my shoots and checking my hand for a wedding ring in all excitement, 'You got married secretly and didn't tell us!' And I'm like, ' Really? We did?' There has been a lot of buzz in the air."

In a sudden surge of emotion, she adds, "On our part we're just happy. I'm happy hanging with him." Karan echoes the sentiment, "We are people who don't plan anything; we are happy every minute and that's all that is needed." This is their happy formula for love and like every couple in love, they too are looking far over the horizon into the realms of 'forever.' Let's hope no storm or rough weather hits their love boat!
