In recent years the concept of angry, brooding male lead has become very popular on ITV. The characteristics are very typical. The character is always super-rich, handsome, doesn't believe in love and most importantly he seems to think it is to manhandle the FL. ( which sadly audience finds "romantic" 🤢) I just think that Abir's character is different and better than other typical male leads in this regard.
I have not watched the show that you have mentioned but I have seen some scenes online. That show looks good. I have tried to watch many ITV shows over the years but always leave it after a few episodes because stories are mostly the same. Even with this show, I don't find the main leads story interesting because it's very run of the mill.
Ughhh! The over possessive MLs🤢.
I agree! It's very run of the mill. They probably can't risk a new concept for main leads because they are the TRP garners. The audience watching at home might not tune in if the story was very hat ke so the basic underlying story has to follow the tried and tested path.
I mean, the KuKu story is very different. If that was the main plot of the show, I don't think this show would be this popular. We can see the difference in the number of fans as well.
Since it's not the main plot, the writers have the liberty of writing a romance they actual want to portray but we're not sure if the main TRP audience would accept it. Maybe that's why we got the amount of ups and downs and layers in the characters.
Ye last paragraph likh kar to maine khud hi ko hope de di. Kuhu will get her epic love story and we will get to see Kunal change. He will learn. The character arcs for both these characters are bigger than we can see right now. My faith just got renewed in the writers. Wow!! I never knew mai khud ka mood achha kar sakti hu🤯
