@Ruhi: I have watched all the scenes you mentioned and a fair bit of the parent show as well. I am well-aware of how the makers want us to see the story (which is your interpretation), but the nice thing about this AT is that there are people who are willing to consider questoning further WHY Kuhu and Mishti should feel so competitive in the first place, and hearing alternate theories.
Kuhu's reaction to Ketu's situation is much more in line with what I would have done. If a girl has taken the drastic step of running away from home, there must be a strong reason and making her go back is a hasty solution. Take her to a safe place and then let her decide what she wants to do? That sounds very supportive and reasonable to me.
While we are on the subject, I loved Kuku right from episode 1, but at that point, more as a part of the ensemble. I saw so much potential for parallels between the two couples, with free spirits Abir and Kuhu both feeling something immediately while Mishti and Kunal carried the weight of the world on their shoulders and didn't really pay attention to their feelings. In the aftermath of Kunal and Mishti's GD breaking, I lost connection with the leads but was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully Kunal and Kuhu unfolded, especially after marriage.
@Snow: That post-visarjan hug is my absolute favourite Kuku scene! I love how brutally honest this couple was with each other -- and that honesty really could be brutal sometimes -- because it gave their relationship such a solid foundation. I think a close second would have to be the bachelor's/hen's party night because again, I just love that the moment his inhibitions were lowered, the first thing Kunal wanted to do was run over and tell Kuhu the truth.
Both of these scenes captured Kunal's conflict so well. The problem was never his lack of feelings for Kuhu but his conviction that he was responsible for holding the family together first and foremost. That line, "humari kahaani kuch aur ho sakti thi" gets me every time. 😭
I just love thinking about all the things they've shared with each other that nobody else knows -- Kunal telling Kuhu how devastated he was after Shweta left him, that he wasn't patter-dil like everyone assumed, she was the only one he opened up to about his difficulty accepting Parul, Kuhu telling him about faking her relationship with Mishti before anyone else knew, and now, how she cried herself to sleep trying to accept that Varsha was her only mother. These two may not have many of the usual markers of romance but I see something so much deeper, which is what keeps drawing me in.
@bold: Aah that line...broke my heart.
Another scene I liked was after after Kunal hands kuhu the divorce papers and she goes home. She's outside somewhere and kunal comes to her for help to get back at mishti for the viral slap video.
I love the way kuhu gives it back to kunal - "mujhe tumhare help mangne ka tareeka bahut bakwaas laga"
