Abhinav Sharma's journey has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, complexities, and personal struggles. When he was first introduced, he seemed like a sweet and simple man, content with leading a simple life. He embraced the role of a father to Abhir and loved him as his own, unaware of the truth about Abhir's biological father. It is important to note that Abhinav had no knowledge of Abhir's biology father before meeting Abhimanyu, and any judgment of his actions and calling him a bacha chor or anything in these lines from the beginning is unfair.
Initially, Abhinav held some resentment towards the man he believed had rejected Abhir and Akshara. However, when he met Abhimanyu and got to know him personally, he realized that he was not a bad person. Abhinav's desire for Akshara to tell Abhimanyu the truth about Abhir's parentage was understandable, but ultimately it was not his place to do so, and Akshara chose not to disclose it.
Their journey took them to Udaipur, where Abhinav's insecurity began to surface. Witnessing the fear in Akshara's eyes when Abhimanyu met with an accident, Abhinav felt compelled to step back, showing a fair reaction in a challenging situation.
However, as their journey progressed, Abhinav's insecurities grew, and his reactions became more erratic. His response to the expensive shoes and his misplaced anger when Abhimanyu said he is not a good person were puzzling.
To me once Abhimanyu learnt the truth and how he acted out. Post that it is unclear to me what Abhinav hoped to achieve by wanting to be friends with Abhimanyu and how he envisioned navigating their complex dynamics. It seemed unrealistic to expect a genuine friendship while also harboring feelings of insecurity and competing desires.
During the surgery and custody battles, Abhinav's behavior became unhelpful. It is in these moments that his role as a supportive partner came into question. The previous six years may have been relatively smooth, with the normal financial struggles of a family, but the current situation required a united front and resilience, which Abhinav seemed to lack. He appeared more as a liability than an asset.
Furthermore, it is disheartening to witness how easily Abhinav falls into self-pity rather than embracing personal growth. He appears to have a fixed mindset, as he is unwilling to explore other opportunities beyond his driving job. Whenever he is in need of money, his immediate reaction is to rely on taking debt from someone. It took Akshara a considerable amount of effort to make him believe in the life and family they built together. Even when promising Abhir that he will be with him forever, Abhinav seemed unsure, which was disappointing.
I find him to be hypocritical because, on one hand, he has no issues with his sister staying with Goenkas and letting them spend a significant amount of money on Abhir's birthday party. However, when offered a job by them, especially when it was clear that his finances can be questioned in court again, he suddenly remembers his self-respect. His constant insistence on being a simple man in every other episode gets on my nerves. Just before Abhir's surgery, his behaviour with Abhimanyu was requesting, grateful and accepting but then he felt offended/Sad when Abhir called for Docman instead of him when he got consciousness.
Moreover, Abhinav stated that he wanted Abhir to know the full truth, yet he initially cried over the fact that Abhir knew half of it. He somewhat twisted his words while discussing the custody situation with Abhir.
Despite planning to fight a custody case against Abhimanyu, he went ahead and hugged him, which seemed absurd to me as a while ago, he told Abhimanyu's mother that Abhimanyu should forget Abhir and move on. So why the need to portray himself as Abhimanyu's friend? It was clear that Abhimanyu was reluctant before hugging him back, which is fair. They are going to fight in a legal battle so why do they need to be each other's friends? Abhinav's actions and words often appear contradictory to me.
Abhinav also unfairly judged Kairav without considering the circumstances. It was not even Kairav's fault, yet he passed quick judgments. In Udaipur, when Kairav stayed true to his feelings and rejected Muskan, it seemed reasonable. However, when Kairav realized that he loved Muskan and proposed to her, I failed to understand what exactly the issue was. And then, when Muskan's video was leaked, simply because Kairav walked out, Abhinav expressed distrust in him and made negative remarks. Why not be honest from the beginning that yes I agree to this alliance but I don’t like this?
I am not saying that Abhinav is a manipulator or a bad person, but his actions often seem inconsistent and misleading. He portrays one image in front of others while acting differently behind their backs. This behavior leaves one questioning his true intentions and integrity as personally i don’t like the types of self proclaimed goody good shoes. It is clear that Abhinav has a long way to go in terms of understanding his own emotions and developing a more mature and supportive approach.
