Akshara, my girl!

So, let's talk about Akshara today.

I loved her today.

The best thing about this leap is this woman in her late 20s or early 30s, has grown out of her immature self. How she identifies Abhimanyu with such clarity. How she points her words at Abhimanyu and calls him possessive and immature, and how she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. But is also mature enough to agree to let Abhimanyu spend time with Abhir and let him take part in Abhir's birthday celebrations.

I love this growth of Akshara. She is not that immature girl where she is blinded by Abhimanyu's possessive and controlling nature. She realised her relationship with him was a prison and now that she has tasted the freedom of life in Kasauli without the drama and emotional baggage that comes with both families and Abhimanyu, she knows what she wants from life. It is basic as sukoon and a happy life with Abhir and Abhinav.

Also, is this yrkkh slyly showing us the importance of nuclear family for stability. Lol. I feel her life is easier because Abhinav is an orphan. Imagine if he has a family, they would probably constantly be taunting Akshara for forcing someone else's kid on Abhinav and Abhinav for raising someone else's kid as his.

I liked how Abhinav went ahead and took Abhir with him. And even though Abhir was reluctant at first, he just went with Abhinav because Abhir loves his mama papa than anyone. ❤️

I do not even wanna say anything really about Abhimanyu but I liked that he atleast had the humanity to look guilty when Abhinav narrated the past. But the moment he saw Akshara he was showing attitude again.

But this episode is kudos to Akshu for realising how she was in an abusive relationship and now she is free. I feel like telling Akshu "told you so" 😆

Anyway, Akshu grew up and if there is going to be an Abhira Milan, I hope atleast they will make this 40 something year old man child also grow up!

I don't know where he blamed Akshara. Akshara openly talked to Abhimanyu how she never wanted Abhimanyu to know. It is her decision. I think it is the perspective. You want to find faults in Abhinav. The way I saw it, he gave Abhimanyu a lesson that he will never go against his wife for someone else. Just by the dialogue "Akshara ke khilaf jaake mein yeh Sach nahi bataa sakta tha" I loved him for that. He knows it is Akshara's prerogative to tell the truth or not.

But I hate that he is still trying to have a friendship with Abhimanyu. But Abhinav knows it is a must that they at least need to be cordial if they have to co parent Abhir.

Also, loved how Abhinav went ahead and took Abhir because he knows his haq he has on Abhir.

It's not that simple. The entire monologue was just to prove that he is indeed an AA. He never had to tell Abhi that it was Ak who didn't want him to be told or how he tried to convince her. That is between the husband and wife. And more importantly, if he really never wanted to go against Ak, then why did he blurt out the truth while drunk? Just because he was drunk, it doesn't matter? Anyways forgetting all of that, the issue with AA has always been self-glorification. From his introduction, he kept saying I am AA, then even when he met Abhi, it was I am AA, every time, it is I am AA. Today, his reaction seemed to be more about Abhi being mad at him than about Abhi taking Abhir.

See, the problem is his character craves approval from everyone. He wants to be liked by everyone. It's not a bad thing, just a weird thing for some people. Personally, I would prefer a character like Abhi to Abhinav. Ak was also like that in the beginning, and that's why people didn't like her, but it's more or less accepted that female leads are oversweet. I do like Ak a lot more now that she has grown beyond all of that.

I was about to make a post on her today and saw yours. You perfectly summed it up. I never liked the old Akshara, who used to get manipulated and would always prioritized others happiness over her mental peace. She loved her simple yet beautiful life in Kasauli and wants to go back. She doesn’t find peace and happiness here regardless of staying here all her life.

I don’t know why they always give her crying scenes. The actress does an amazing job portraying her strong self. Can’t wait to see a strong Akshu in the upcoming episodes. I just hope makers don’t ruin it.

And Akshara looked so pretty today, I think her stylist/makeup artist was different but whoever it was needs to be with her permanently.

Thx for the insight..I don't plan to watch these epis as I can't stand abhimanyu anymore but i am really happy that akshu is showing progress..we had so much against her in the pre marriage days , but she has really matured and has the right perspective of things after that phase of life..growth is rare in fls on itv..

I don't think thy r anywhere close to co parenting. Abhimanyu is not the type of person who would agree to it. If he sets his eyes on something he wants 100% of it ..infact 200% ..if he is truly apologetic for the past and discusses with akshu how he wants to be a part of abhirs life , calmly coolly maturely , we all wud appreciate it ...but he is bk to his old self who just bulldozes his way through peoples lives...his pain his trauma his loss his mummy his son his akshu ..its always about what he wants.

About abhinav..well ..I also don't like him crushing his self respect again and again but it's a character trait so I'll pass...he can win people over with this attitude and I appreciate it...other than that , therez little he can do in this crisis bec it's between akshu and abhimanyu ..they will be calling the shots , his role should be minimum

Nav was already losing his self respect and if he didn’t speak up for himself today, he’d never be able to do so. Abhimanyu questioned his character so he gave an answer, period. If he loves Abhir, he gets called out, he loves Akshara, he gets called out, he loves Abhimanyu, he gets called out, he loves anyone else he gets called out, everyone loves him, he gets called out and if he loves himself, he will still get called out for it. Akshara has lived her whole life under some form of abuse, be it with Aarohi and Goenkas or Abhimanyu and Birlas. She mistook that for love and constantly put her self respect at stake to keep these relationships with her. It is with Abhinav and her life in Kasauli that she learned how relationships actually are and what freedom and respect truly means. A stable respectful life with Abhinav helped her grow and mature in to the woman she is today. She now understands how wrong her earlier life was and what she thought as love was just an abusive prison.

I never liked Akshara preleap, but loving the post leap Akshara. Added some substance to her character:

The cast is great but like many said they didn’t flesh out the characters that nicely. They can still change the tide post leap, let’s see what they can do, without taking the cliched route.

It’s hard for people who watch it for a ship instead of the characters. For me it’s easier cos I never found abhira that appealing. Plus I was never invested in yrkkh. The drama was boring. But there were shows where I liked the chemistry between leads but the characterisation was so bad that it got hard to watch or even wish them together cos as usual ML is god and never wrong. and ultimately love was just equated to physical relationship.

That’s why post leap in yrkkh the writing is so much better than many shows in SP. ( barring few itv cliches ) Showing abhi where he went wrong. And if they show him acting sensibly. even if it was for one episode I liked abhi confiding in Shefali about where he went wrong.
And if they continye to show their growth, their reunion will be much more palatable. DKP won’t ditch OG pair.
