Mannish and gang are ancient. They should know how to raise children by now yet they’ve let these girls run wild with their trauma and delusions. More than mannish, I expected Swarna to handle the situation because she raised Kartik and Keerti from a young age as their stepmom. Just wanna point out that swarna didn't raise kartik..kartik didn't have a normal relationship with manish Nd swarna as be believed his father remarried (and if my memory serves right , he believed that his father killed his mom, but the truth was, she had some mental illness due to which manish remarried ) ..so kartik was sent away to boarding at a young age..he was never with his family, just like naira. After marriage swarna expected naira to bring kartik close to goenkas n naira did...

Kartik and naira did just fine without their parents ..naira had a more rough life as she was there in some orphanage while kartik was in boarding..when he completed his studies he didn't use goenka surname also.

There's no end to such deep-rooted psychological issues that come from childhood. The only solution in such instances is to move away from the person or relationship. Only then can either party be at peace. They can never be cordial half-sisters, let alone a normal sister relationship.

All of Arohi's childhood trauma and the insults she faced do not give her the right to treat Akshara like her personal slave throughout their lives, and there's no justification for the harassment and abuse she's been meting out to Akshara from childhood.

Just because someone suffered in life in the past, that doesn't give them the right to treat others like trash and repeatedly gaslight and bully them away from their own family. And Arohi just uses Akshara by manipulating her every single time into hiding her lies and lying for her. Their relationship is a blot on sisterhood, with or without Abhimanyu in the picture.

So, coming to this late and there might be many posts already answering this.

My thought is it all comes down to nurture v nature. This is applicable to both real life and fictional.

Of course here it is all about storytelling and the formation of characters as the writers see them, so many use ennagram types to develop characters (look them if anyone is interested). To ensure each characters merge, clash and provide the necessary conflict to sustain the structure of a story. Abhie, Akshu and Arohi are well balanced in that respect.

Everyone falls into categories that are set in childhood - caretaker, people pleaser, humorist, the black sheep, leader and etc. Akshara turned out to a be a people pleaser with aspect of caretaker, IMHO. Unfortunately that was then turned to parentification and then you add a layer of guilt - over her 'killing Sirat'. All that created layer upon layer on her personalities until they solidified to make her the Akshara you see on screen.

Nurture - what little I saw of the S2 end she was made to look out for Arohi, forgive her because she was the little sister. Family showed immense pride in Arohi's academic achievement but I think Akshara's arts/dramatic achievement not so much due to the temper of Arohi so that everyone rushed to console her till Akshara suppressed herself (going back to her people pleaser personality) felt they didn't matter as much. Arohi was also indulgent by the family when really they should have reprimanded her. I mean in real life these two sisters should be in therapy now.🤓😃 Then you have the Goenka's. Reality is they would be in their 60's....bad mix for raising children and etc not only in terms of parenting style but in keeping up with how the world is. Of course on screen we see them ageless. As the children grew up, Goenka's got older and sat back thinking 'our parenting is done'. Not really.

Where Akshara's deep love came from?

Akshara never knew her own mother well. I know Karthik was around when she was baby but not much when she grew up? (by that point I had stopped watching). Sirat was all she had known and from what little I saw Sirat loved her as well. So she would take Sirat's words to heart, remember them throughout her life. We all do btw, in real life, when parents tell us something. Then as a child she was made to believe she had killed her 'Mum'. I don't think anyone made her believe otherwise in ways that matter - taking her to therapy, having a heart to heart talk, making sure to watch her, show her that accidents happen and it's part and parcel of life. So little Akshara has this layer of guilt of being responsible for killing her mum. She would do anything to ensure this does not happen again, that no one dies because of her. The scene in the Mandir is a mirror moment to Sirat's death. I had mentioned elsewhere that good writers would utilise that - visual story telling to show how that one moment in her childhood defined Akshara to this day. Arohi had accused her repeatedly in front of all that she had killed her mum/snatched her away. Without words everyone was made to see that Akshara would give her own life to ensure history never repeats itself. (As aside, I think someone in the Birla family would use that information against Akshara at some point). In the famous word of Dr Abhimanyu Birla Akshu had been conditioned (to give her life for Arohi so finally her guilt over Sirat's death can be eased). She had inadvertently snatched something priceless and ever since that day, her love for Arohi is really a way of seeking ways to give it back, to make it up. The writers of this season briefly mentioned it in one scene - Abhi is the only priceless gift in her life and recognising that, and Arohi's want, Akshara made sure to give it to her. But she forgot that this priceless gift is a living breathing person with his own wants, desires and needs. And he oh so needed his Akshu because she complemented him and fit his soul like no other.

(Not sure if anyone realised it yet but there is a difference between Akshara and Akshu and Abhi had seen it hence why he calls her Akshu and not just as an endearment).

Really remains to be seen whether the three's conflicts, trauma and fatal flaws will be utilised properly. I know in YRHPK RS did the first act of Mishti and Abir's romance arc brilliantly, a first I had seen on indian TV serial tbh. Then it sort of went downhill all in the name of pleasing the masses.

Mental health is really important and Arohi is why Akshara's mental health is so fragile. the Goenka's have also shattered Akshu's mental health through their shit parenting. if this wasn't itv, Akshara would've reached her breaking point a long time ago.

Arohi triggers Akshara's trauma every other day and unfairly blames her for their mother's death. Their mother. Akshara had to point out that Sirat was her mother too. Right from when she was 1 year old, Sirat was Akshu's mother. She grew up believing that Sirat was her real mother and got to know the step mom truth later on.

Despite this, Arohi conveniently gaslights and tortures Akshara about their mother's accident, just to get something done out of Akshara. That's what a bully does. I don't think the sister's issues can ever be sorted out. Akshara is better off keeping a huge distance away from Arohi for her own sanity and peace.
