Star Plus' 'Saathiya' leads Boxing Day ratings

Hindi drama 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya' on Star Plus was the most watched show on UK Asian television on Boxing Day, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional.

The long-running show, which is aired at 19:00 grabbed a massive audience averaging at 253,600 and peaking at 302,900 .one of the biggest ever audiences for the channel.

'Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara' was the second most watched show on UK Asian TV last night. Its 22:00 broadcast got the channel an audience of 162,300, followed by 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' at number three with 160,500.

On rival, Rishtey, 'Bairi Piya' was the most watched show at 20:30 with 87,500, followed by 'Na Aana Is Des Laado' at 21:00 with an audience of 78,500. The third was 'Jeevan Saathi' with an audience of 65,300.

Above data is an overnight rating and may change slightly after consolidated figures become available in seven days from BARB.

Overnights: 'Yeh Rishta'' tops Star Plus ratings

Star Plus' 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' tops UK ratings

The twists and turns on 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' on Star Plus have got viewers gripped and has managed to climb up the chart to become the most watched Asian drama in the UK.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' won the ratings battle on Thursday night (27th December) with an audience of 275,600. It peaked further to 317,600. The festive break has certainly pushed the channel's viewership with record ratings.

'Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara' was the second most watched show on UK Asian TV with 262,000, followed by 'Veera' at 22:30 with 197,600. 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai' was in fourth with 188,100. Rounding up the top five at number five was 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' with 178,600.

'Kaali Ek PunarAvtar' continues to underperform on the channel with just 102,000 tuning in at 20:00.

On Rishtey, 'Bairi Piya' continues as the channel driver with the 20:30 episode grabbing 61,700. 'Jaane Kya Baat Hui' at 19:30 got an audience of 55,000. 'Na Aana Is Des Laado' at 21:00 delivered 51,100. In fourth was 'Jeevan Saatthi' at 20:00 with 50,500. In fifth was the movie at 21:00 with an audience of 47,000.

On Zing, 'World Of Bollywood' got a huge boost with 47,800 tuning in. In second place was film critic show 'Bollywood Business' at 18:30 with 21,300
