What I dont understand is what her problem really is?? why is she so against Akshara? its not like Akshara was Rituraj's choice. Why does she want to show herself better than Akshara?

I don't suspect it's Rituraj, but Bindiya's in-laws. Rituraj was so wanting a steretypical trophy wife. His family did too and they rejected Akshara only because she liked singing and was worried she may be a career girl. On the other hand, with time, Akshara has taken on the stereotypical old fasioned bahu role and Bindiya must have an inferiority complex. While Akshara types are rare in this world, it is quite common to hear one's in-laws praising someone else's bahu, much to the irritation of their own bahu.
