Its ok to close your room doors only at night or during the afternoon nap (which should come to an end before darling saasu wakes up obviously). If you oversleep, then hell breaks out. There is no problem as long as the son is unmarried, but once he gets married, then its wrong to close the doors. The biggest problem is for the bahu who has to come out of the closed doors and face others. This has happened to me and I am sure most of you married ones out there would agree with me.

i think i get where your coming from about the whole direspect if u close to room door in the day...but the fact that his mom just comes in the room is also disrespectful! she goes thru his closet and sets up his clothes and wants him to wear of her choice is somewhat ridiculous as well.

She should have the courtesy to knock at least!!!!!

She knocks and knocks and knocks continously till they open if the doors are closed LOL šŸ˜† (remember the headache and balm scene), so I guess its better to keep the doors open itself, she doesnt have to strain her knuckles and her throat šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†
Maybe mommy dear should move her kitchen upstairs right next to munna's room and knock off the wall in between, like that she can have a complete view of their room and also cook for munna at the same time.

🤣

i can understand..for all those living outside India will find this idiotic...but trust me, a few MIL's are more interfering than this... 🤣 there are issues with joint family, and if husband wife are living seperate, there are a completely diff. set of problems...yrkkh is showing a joint family , that too conservative and old fashioned..as i said, we have to deal with these problems, and biggers problems on day to day basis...it's OKAY....joint family has a lot of advantages as well...

Oh yes, living seperately has its own set of problems that crop up when you visit them on vacation, especially if your parental home and sasural are in the same city (simple things like with whom you travelled on the way home from the airport (your parents or mine) or whom did you hug first (your family or mine) can also be blown out of proportion)...life can be smooth only if in-laws are more open-minded, otherwise life is plain pure hell. But living seperately, I feel, is much smoother except during vacation. Atleast, you dont have to go through day-to-day torture.

this kind of things happen in any indian joint family..tta s wat they portray...the moms affectionate towards their sons feel the same as G feels aftr the son's marriage..they feel the insecurity wen a new girl comes into his life..
my mom was telling that my grand mom used to feel in the same way as gayathri wen my mom n dad go out 4 amovie..hav food out,etc...
moms shld understand that the new girl is also part of their life, she s also a part of their sons life..her happiness should also be taken into account...😊

after reading everyone's post about closed doors...i think that the whole family needs to understand and lighten up...if they see the two together then they should be left alone until their done talking or what ever

Great points...I agree with you...I think Gayatri's inability to let go of her son and just be a bystander in his life is primarily at fault here... Naitik was her whole life...she knew everything that was going on...now, as you point out, a girl comes into his life, and G ma is on the sidelines...she cannot handle this...I was very pleased last week when Daddaji actually understood the newlyweds and their need for some time alone...full marks to him...as for the open/shut doors, as others have indicated open doors during the day are the norm in India...so if the door is shut then, there should be some respect and common sense applied before knocking continuously: there is a reason why the door is closed. In time, I think G ma will clue into this as well...I do hope the creatives actively focus on these issues surrounding privacy...it would really help showcase the family's understanding and to some degree final acceptance of the fact that the newlyweds have their own lives, and should be allowed to live it...
