I thought about gayatri's relationship with Naitik .seeing from her POV,I realised that she also needed a person in the family who depended on her all the time and will also listen to her and support her POV in front of the family.
Point1-THe family head is Daddaji and naitik's dad is the perfect bharat for his dadaji.so gayatri's husband's support is out of question in controversial matters
Point2-Bhabhima controls the kitchen and the household as she is the badi of the house.so she becomes the saas figure,soall will do what she says.
Point3-In a conservative family like this having a son is prestige issue probably after Naitik was born,gayatri got some right to speak.That is one of the reason why gayatri feels she has to hold on to naitik.
Last but not the least is that Naitik by supporting his mom and viceversa developed an affection which is special,anybody will love to hold on to that relationship.
on the whole,gayatri is not bad but feels that the special bond she shared with naitik will be a thing of the past if akshara gets closer to naitik.she will understand and get used to the fact that her son is married and another person is close to her son as she is.But now all she needs is Reassurance.This is my take on how gayatri character has shaped up with my understanding of living with my saas

I agree with all your POVs. Gayatri is not a bad person and I feel that she also needs to adjust to the fact that there is someone else in Naitik's life also now. For her life will be the same but things and rishtas have changed for Naitik. It will take time since she takes pleasure in doing things for Naitik...mothers always have that special something for their sons anyways...and Naitik reciprocates that to her as well...in fact he himself has said na that no one understnads him except his mother....so that have that bond for all these years and it will take time...infact even for Naitik it will take some time...he is so used to his mom doing everything automatically that it will take time for him to ask Akshara or tell her what his needs are....its just human nature...

i totally agree wid u...
it wil definitely take time 4 both Gayatri n Naitik to be used to da new relation wid Akshara..as both of dem have given this shape to their mother-son relation......
Gayatri has ti n will understand dis dat now Naitik is now married n Akshara will be playing a more important part in Naitik's life....

n as time will pass everything will smoothen out.....as TIME is da only remedy....

I dont think gayatri needs to be insecure really.
Just because naitik is married doesn't mean that she isn't still naitik's mom. He will depend on her on some issues and on akshara on some issues. She is still a big part of naitik's life.
She shud stop making those faces.

I've said this so many times tht I like Gayitri...but I have doubts tht she doesn't have any authority in her house...except in front of Daddaji, she is the decision maker as far as home affairs go.......Bhabhi ma of course has the last say & Gayitri never questions her decisions (which is more out of respect) but she herself said that bhabhi ma is very naive..Gayitri is the smart one out there..don't underestimate her....

Her position is very low in the hierarchy ..first it's Daddaji, then bhabhi ma then her husband and then Gayitri...but when it comes to Akshara, Gayitri will have the last say.....nobody will be able to override her decision , except Naitik..

To me, she's a very mature and sensible lady and she knows what she's doing...but her weak point is Naitik...doobti rag...in future, she might act weird at times ..

Gayatri is the HIGH COMMAND of the house and everything happens on her wishes...bhabhi ma is just the nominal head 😆

Shrea- I agree with you 100%. I had stated a simliar point in another topic and yes you are right, after naitik was born it gave her a right to speak and be known in the house and she feels if that is let go she will have no identity. Also i think it will be a good contrast between naitk and askhi and his parents...The way gayatri and her hubby are with daddaji and badi ma vs how akshara and naitik will be. Naitik will not stay quiet and will stand up for akshi and himself if need be. I think askhara will make a place for herself as well in the house..I think over time gayatri will feel this difference to which will cause more bitter feelings for her...she is a nice person its just human tendency to feel this.
