Today's episode was an ode to one of the less known song from the film Blackmail (The one with the famous song "Pal pal dil ke paas tum rehte ho")

And a beautiful one at that too!

Superbly enacted!

Mile Mile Do Badan Khile Khile Do Chaman

(Note : the film is also a love story of a couple where the girl wants to leave the guy she has married and he is letting go of her for her sake)

For one, it is a film I have seen (Never missed any Vijay Anand film) and the song and it's taking was not forgettable. It was classic Goldy (Vijay Anand)!

And second, I have thought about this song and scenario and felt it will fit well in this story. (At Initial Lalji days, before he turned into the "Bhukha bacchha") :-D

(If I was a FF writer, I would have written on this scenario, but it is something which is classic example where film becomes a language itself. "Show and not tell" is a classic rule of film making)

Omg Cora... it's exactly the same. 😲
How on earth did you remember this?? 👏

Change the topic. I had no idea this song existed. I thought you were mentioning some song that suited this situation. But you have come up with the original... even holding hands. But of course Dharam Paaji goes the full length...😳 He's not as reserved as our Mukhiji and no TV censors for him as well 😳😆.

Mallika,

:-D I was referring to the original. It was a (pleasant) surprise that someone from the creative team knew of this.

It is a film by one of my most favourite directors , but one of his lesser known (and not one of the top rated) films.

Vijay Anand is famous for his portrayal of a different kind of romantic scenes. Physicality of of romance in his films is interesting and aesthetic. (Guide, Tere Ghar ke Saamne, Johny Mera Naam). His heroes are bold (not aggressive).

While the rest of the film is meh, the romance even in this one is really beautifully done. A married couple where the woman tells her husband she is not in love with him but someone else (For some this part mind remind of Mauna Ragaam). And the husband who is in love with her helping her with it.

And how proximity, affection and kindness plays a role in the love blossoming between the soon to be parted married couple.

Yes, "Pal pal" is my favourite song from the film too. But this was a hidden gem and the how both are picturised shows the command of director over the medium.
