Deb, first of all, let me give you a standing ovation for this post. 👏I do enjoy music and know a few raagams but not the level of detail that you have enlightened here. No wonder the song just captures the mood of the situation. Such soul reaching kind of a tune. And no wonder when ever it comes on, we feel nothing else will suit what they are trying to convey. That there is so much of science behind this is amazing.

Do you know of any south indian songs that we southerners can relate to?😳

And like you say, once again a warm forum response to your post. It seems obvious that this show is attracting a kind of audience that really really appreciates the finer points in life... like our story !👏

My dear Mallika...sending you a bear hug and lots of love for your kind words...I actually believe..that for appreciating good music a lot of knowledge about music is not required...the only thing that is needed is a genuine love for it. I am deeply attracted to a movie if it has good music. For this show as well, I remember the first promo...the screen presence of Eijaz Khan as a Kutchi village man, the enchanting Gujarat...his inspirational thoughts and the mesmerized young girl with the lilting melody of Yeh Moh Moh ke dhaage in the background drew me to the show...Music just elevates the overall narrative and the quality of performances as well...at times, I think, the contribution of music in providing a finer texture to the narrative is quite underrated...and that is the basic reason why I thought about writing on this topic...only to be pleasantly surprised by the warmth, talents and quality of this forum once again. I will surely send you some Telegu songs if I find in Raag Yaman...for you to understand it better...will need some time for that. But just for a basic understanding...u may listen to the Jagjeet Singh Ghazal..."Hothon se Chu Lo tum...mera geet amar kar do" I am sure u will understand the raaga a bit better. Thanks once again for your warmth!!
Also Thank You Wateva, Berrysweet and Kavmuks for your appreciation...trust me guys... I never expected it!! 😊😊
