I think Sameer should have told her the truth, may be she would have thought some way out, she should also talk to her Chachaji by taking him in confidence. He may get hurt and angry but he will surely guide them.

i felt she ignored him and his feelings when she was talking to him. Her worries with respect to her family overpowered it. Selfish may be a wrong word i think she is unknowingly doing things that is making sameer insecure. His moms words are ringing true to him with situations .
