I thought something else for the sangeet but it ended like this as I wrote after quite a long time.

Part-10

Next was the sangeet ceremony.

Whole house was already decorated while all brothers had already done with the special arrangements for the sangeet ceremony and prepared a perfect surprise for their princess. On the other hand, Preeta also prepared a surprise for her family. Everyone was ready with their performances and surprises.

In the evening, everyone gathered for the sangeet ceremony. Ishmi were dressed like full Punjabi girls, Patiala suit with paranda, accessories and everything giving a perfect Punjabi look. Everyone complimented both.

All the guests arrived. Raman told Preeta’s friends to bring her down. Preeta came all dressed looking beautiful but the way was blocked with something. Raman came and Preeta looked at him confused when he removed the cloth and she was surprised to see her favourite sports bike on which she wanted to take a ride.

R – Sorry, thoda late pta chala…

Preeta – Lekin pta chal gaya na. Aisa kabhi hua hai ki mere bhai ko meri wish pta na chale. Kaise pta chal jata hai aapko…

Kuldeep – Apni behan ki wish pta nhi chalegi to laalat hai bhai hone par.

Romi started the bike and asked her to sit, he would take her to her sitting place on bike. Preeta denied and felt shy. Their family asked her to go ahead and finally she sat. Romi took two three rounds in the ground and then took her to her seat. She sat there while others too took their seats around her.

Then the function started. First, local folk singers sang folk songs joined by everyone in singing and dancing. They danced and enjoyed folk songs and dhol. Then the performances by family and friends started. Senior couples danced one by one on old songs then all cousins danced on mashup of punjabi songs, Romika danced on “Sauda Khara khara” and at last, Ishita danced with Preeta’s friends on “Laung Laachi” song, Raman was surprised to see her this side.

Then Raman was the host for the night. Lights switched off and a projector started projecting pictures of a little baby girl. He introduced the princess of their house. Preeta and Ishmi were surprised. Raman showed her whole journey and their grandparents and parents danced too in between dedicating to Preeta. Everyone was emotional till the end. Kuldeep came in front and Ramann sang the song, “EK hazaron mein, meri behna hai”. Kuldeep danced with Preeta. Then Romi and Rajeev came and Raman sang “Taaron ka chamakta gehna ho”. At last, he came out, singing “Maahi Ve”, all brothers danced with her which later joined by their whole family and all shared an emotional moment, everyone has tears in their eyes but Raman was singing with all his strength. Ishmi hugged each other and adored Bhallas bonding. After some time, they became normal when lights switched off once again and a lady spoke.

I - Attention please. Hamari dulhan ko to uski family ne bhot hi beautiful surprise de dia. Ab waqt hai, hamari dulhan ki taraf se uski family ke liye ek chota sa surprise.

It was Ishita. She requested everyone to sit on their seats. They were looking for Preeta when Ishita announced that she was not there. Projector again started projecting photos while Ishita spoke,

I - Hamari dulhan ne apni family ke liye ek choti si kavita likhi hai…..

ishita started reading it while Preeta came and was expressing her emotions through signs and photos projected.

dadaji- dadiji, mummiji-papaji, tauji-taiji, chachaji-chachiji, bas naam anek hai,

mere liye to, ek hi rishte ke roop anek hai.

khushnaseeb hu main, jisse ek nhi bhai mile chaar,

bin maange hi, jo laga dete hai khushiyon ki kataar.

dosto ne kaha, behan bhi hoti to sone pe suhaga hota,

par jab bhai hi vo kami puri karde to bhala unse khas kon hota?

kehte hai duniya mein rishte humhe muft mein milte hai,

yeh to bhagwan ke diye phool hai, jo sada dil mein khilte hai….

sabki laadli, pyari, rajdulari aur princess hu…..

Then projector stopped at the photo, Preeta with all her mothers while song played, “aisa kyu maa” and Preeta started dancing. Then, it showed a photo, Preeta with all her fathers, while song “dilbaro” played and She danced dedicating to them. At last, there was photo in which she was sitting on the swing made by her brothers by joining hands and she was laughing. The song “Jhoola Baahon Ka” played and she danced, joined by her brothers and they lived their old times. All danced on a few punjabi songs and enjoyed it thoroughly. Soon the sangeet ceremony ends.

As usual, Ishra met in the garden before going to bed. They talked about the sangeet, performances and the surprises. Ishita even praised his singing skills to which he thanked her. Both were walking when he looked at her thinking if he should say or not. He was thinking when he heard her,

I - Kuch kehna hai kya?

R - Tumhe kaise pta?

I - Because main museum ka showpiece nhi hu na jisse aap ghoore ja rhe hai.

R - Kehna to tha but…. leave it. kuch nhi.

I - Arey aise kaise, kehna to keh dijiye, itna kya soch rhe ho.

R - Actually, I wanted to say ki…

I - Yes, tell me.

R - tum aaj bhot khubsurat kag rhi thi, ek dum patakha..

He said in a go taking deep breath while Ishita took few seconds to register his sentence. First, she didn’t say anything, stood without any emotion while Raman got scared thinking he made her angry but then she laughed at him making him confused.

I - Are you serious? Itni choti si bat bolne ke liye itna dar rhe the…

R - Tumhe gussa to nhi aaya na, thank god.

I - gussa kyu aayega?

R - Tum hamesha serious mood mein rehti ho, ha aaj akl thoda badalne lag gayi ho but still dar lag rha tha kahi tumhe bura lag gaya to..

I - aur agar mujhe sach mein bura lagta to?

R - Vhi to main keh rha hu, agar tumhe bura lagta to tum gussa ho jati aur vo main afford nhi kar sakta..

I - Kyu?

R - Kyu ka kya matlab hai, tum meri friend ho aur tum meri vajah se mujhse gussa ho jati to mujhe bura nhi lagega kya. Kahi tum friendship hi tod deti to. Ha vaise itni badi bat bhi nhi thi but possibility to thi..

He was saying casually while his words disturbed her from inside and she stopped walking. He was justifying himself when she asked slowly,

I - Itni important hai yeh friendship aapke liye.

She asked, making him stop, first he didn’t look back. He thought about what he should answer to her which would not hurt her or affect their friendship in any way. Then, he thought to give a try and turning to her, looking at her, said sincerely,

R - Tum nhi janti yeh friendship mere liye kitni important hai. It’s a part of my life now. Mere liye yeh friendship utni hi important hai jitna ki koi aur rishte naate hai.

Ishra shared an eye lock which Raman broke, he smiled and said,

R - It’s time to sleep now. Let’s go back. Kal bhot bada din hai.

Ishita just nodded still lost in his words. She was having mixed feelings.

ishita laid down to sleep but sleep was far away from her eyes. She was continuously thinking of Raman, their friendship and their growing bonding and when he said that this friendship was important for him. She thought that does it mean she was important to him. She was feeling happy for some unknown reason. She remembered him saying that she started changing and wondered if it was really true. She was thinking of him but then she tried to remove all those thoughts out of her mind thinking she shouldn’t think anything like that and shouldn't let herself change because of anyone, unknown to herself that now that's impossible. On the other side, Raman was happy seeing positive response from Ishita..

Brothers surprise to preeta was beautiful bike ride ramans singing song for her was lovely preetas surprise was also nice raman was amazed seeing Ishitas dance ishita compliments raman about his singing he said she was looking beautiful he was scared she will get angry she started laughing raman said he can't afford to risk their friendship she asked if it's that important for him he said yes ishita got happy she was thinking about raman and he was also thinking about her
