The next day, the rituals started and two days passed smoothly.

It was the day of Mahendi ceremomy. As it wasthe ladies function so all men were told either to go out or sit in the lawn outside the house, seniors decided to sit in the lawn and do something or talk which was usual for them from few days while mostly young boys went out to roam around, only Raman, Romi and their cousins were left. First they were arranging for the Mahendi ceremomy when Raman's aunt told him,

RA - Raman puttar, sab arrange Kar Diya na.

R - Ha Chachiji, sab ho gaya. See, baithne ka intezam Kar dia hai yaha sabka, Mahendi wali as gayi hai.l, Mahendi aap logo be prepare Kar li hai aur vaha sabke snacks bhi rakh diye hai, teen female staff hai aap logo ki help Karne ke liye. Ok.

RA - Changa puttar. Sab thik hai, Chalo ab tum sab jaao.

Romi - Wah chahiji. Aapka Kam ho gaya to humhe makkhi ki tarah bahar nikal rhi ho.

RA2 (pulling his ear) - Tum logo ki koi nautanki nhi chalne wali. Humne kaha tha na yeh ladies function hai aur isme tum logo ka koi Kam nhi hai to Chalo jaao.

Cousin - Arey Ma, hum aap logo ko pareshan Karne ke liye thodi ruk the hai, we will help you. Aap log aaram se function enjoy karna aur hum aapki Seva karenge.

Raman smiled at their nautanki to stay there only.

RA - Bilkul nhi. Hamari help me liye, female staff hai na. Chalo jao.. Raman puttar lekar ja inhe yahan se.

R (smiling) - Pareshan mat hoiye Chachiji, hum chale jaayenge bas ek par Preeto aa jaye, humhe bar ek pal apne Dil mein laid karna hai, usse dekhe, photos click karwa Kar chale jaayenge. Phir aap log apna program Kar sakte hai. Ok.

Raman's mother was about to say something but his dadiji came and said to let them stay for sometime, Preeta is their only sister. All brother's hugged her thanking her. Soon IshMi and two friends of Preeta brought her down, made her sit and her mother and aunts started making her wear flower jeweleries. All brother's were admiring her and Raman was clicking photos when his eyes stopped at Ishita who was smiling continuously and looking beautiful in suit salwar, this is the first she is wearing salwar suit. He clicked her photos too while Romi saw him and asked,

Romi - Bhai, Ishitaji ki Mahendi hai?

Raman looked away embarrassed and concentrated on Preeta. Soon brother's also went and clicked photos with her. At last, Raman went, gave compliments and wishes to her then get a photo clicked with her and then he took steps back where Ishita was sitting and said slowly to her goijg back,

R - Different lag rhi ho…

She looked at him who was now standing with his brothers. He made a sign that she is looking good, making her smile. Soon their mothers told the boys to go out as now they will start the main function. Raman were taking them out when they heard,

RA - Ha to kudiyon, Kya taiyari ki hai tum logo ne. Kuch kia bhi hai ya nhi.

RM - Hamare time mein to itni nautanki karte the hum, tum logo ne kuch kia hai..

Sapna (Preeta's friend) - Arey Chachiji, hum bhi koi Kam nhi hai,kyu Mihika. Mihika ne bhot acha program prepare kia hai kisi special ke nam.

She said and laughed while Romi got alert and stopped Raman.

Romi- Arey ruko na Bhai, suna aapne, Mihika ne mere liye kuch prepare kia hai.

R - Arey bewkoof, yeh ladies function hai, aur uska special person uski Akka hogi..

RC - Arey nhi Raman, he is right. Suna nhi tha tumne papaji ne kaha tha ki vo log chupke se ladies function mein jate the aur vha ladies hum mardo ka hi mazak udati hai.

Romi - Nhi, Meri Mihika Aisa nhi karegi.

RC - Vo to humhe pta nhi chalega, kyonki we are not invited.

They were talking when IshMi came and said,

Mihika - Abhi Tak yahi ho aap log, suna nhi sabne Kya kaha.. Boys are not allowed.

She said with attitude while boys turned to go, they were almost out when Raman heard that Ishita was also going to perform with Mihika and all. Soon the girls closed the door on their faces and they went out. Romi was saying continuously that he wanted to see the program while Raman's cousins were also supporting him but they were just looking at Raman for last permission who was thinking to go or not. The moment he heard that Ishita was going to perform, he was also interested and looked at his brothers. He smiled and said,

R - Sahi kaha tum logo ne, yeh function nhi dekha to shadi ka maza adhura reh jaayega.

They got excited and were thinking how to enter the function when they heard their fathers talking about their time, how they used to enter the function wearing ladies clothes. Brothers looked at each other and then said together, "Hum bhi kare Kya". All went and then wearing ladies clothes, entered the function hiding from their mothers and IshMi especially. They sat aside behind ladies, covering their faces with dupatta so that their family ladies could not see them. Soon the function started and first their mothers and other senior ladies danced on folk songs. IshMi and other girls were not there. Soon the real function started and a girl announced that girls are going to present a program over boys, making fun of them. Boys saw two girls coming dressed like Romi and Chirag (his cousin) making them shocked as they understood that they would be the “bakra” in their program. Raman and Kuldeep (their cousin) laughed at Romi and Chirag. Soon they saw Mihika and Preeta’s friend, Rajni came and the song started….

Mihika and Rajni started dancing around the reel Romi and Chirag (Rajni and Chirag used to fight with each other) while Romi and Chirag were making angry faces and were irritated. Even Chirag got up to beat Rajni but they held him and told him to sit silently and enjoy otherwise their mothers would beat them.

He was saying when Chirag said smiling,

Chirag - Beta, Tum dono ki to bina girlfriend ya enemy ke bhi band bajegi..

He said and turned their faces, making them shocked. Ishita and Sapna were coming and almost dragging reel Raman and Kuldeep holding their tie. Then they started dancing, making their fun.

Now it was Romi and Chirag’s turn to laugh at Raman and Kuldeep who were shocked but soon Raman was smiling seeing Ishita dancing for the first time and enjoying. Then all four girls danced together.

Kuldeep supported him and went with him. The song ended and Girls were going when Raman and Kuldeep blocked their way. All ladies and girls were confused as boys were still in lady attire. They were about to ask when the song played and they themselves removed the dupatta making all shocked, Ishita and Sapna got worried for their reaction.

Raman and Kuldeep started dancing while Ishita and Sapna tried to escape but they didn't let them go.

Song ended and the boys realized that they were exposed and everyone was looking at them angrily. Boys talked among themselves and then played the song. Raman brought their grandmother and started dancing with her making her smile while other brothers started dancing with their mothers.

Till the end of the song, everyone was dancing happily including Preeta. Romi was dancing with Mihika but her concentration was on Ishra who were dancing together. Romi noticed her and left her hand, he was going, making Mihika realise her mistake but his brothers stopped him and not wanting to hurt them, he started dancing with them.

It was evening. Everyone got to know about all that happened and it became a topic to discuss and laugh. Raman was sitting and doing some work when his brothers came and sat around him. They were giving a naughty smile to him making him suspicious. Ishmi and Preeta’a friends were sitting with Preeta. Ishita noticed the boys whispering something among themselves and the trio were looking excited, trying to make Raman agree for something. Ishita elbowed Mihika and other girls and signaled towards them.

Sapna - Kuch to khichdi pak rhi hai in logo ke beech.

Rajni - Chodo na humhe kya..

Sapna - Inki excitement dekh kar to lag rha hai ki yeh kuch karne wale hai..koi kand karne wale hai..

Ishita - May be Preeta ke liye kuch planning kar rhe ho..

Sapna - Arey Ishita ji, aap nhi janti yeh punjabi munde hai, arey humhe to aadat hai, sharafat aur shararat ke beech ka difference humhe pta hai.

Soon it was night. Ishita was walking in the garden as usual, Mihika, Rajni and Sapna were also there, they were talking randomly when boys came and were going towards a room outside the house in the corner of the garden. They saw the girls and tried to go silently but the girls noticed them and asked where they were going at that time.

R - Aap sab ek sath yaha?

I - Hum to bas aise hi.. walk kar rhe the.. Aaj aap nhi aaye walk ke liye? Aur kaha ja rhe ho aap log?

R - Ha… vo thoda kam tha isiliye hum vha ja rhe the..

Sapna - Itni rat ko kaisa kam?

Kuldeep (smiling) - Agar hum apne sare kam aap logo ko batane lage to mujhe nhi lagta ki koi kam ho paayega. Okay? Now we take your leave. Aur ha itni rat ko kahi koi bhoot na samajh le aap logo ko, jakar so jaaiye.

Saying so they went to the room and took a sigh of relief closing the door. Girls got suspicious. First they tried to ignore but then thought to check on them but how. They tried to hear them standing near the door but couldn’t, then they saw a window which was a little bit open. All looked inside and were shocked to see them having a small party, they were drinking and were happily talking. Girls looked out, IshMi were feeling disgusting,

I - Shame on them, ghar mein shadi hai, shadi ko ek festival mana jata hai aur yeh log yaha alcohol drink kar rhe hai.

Sapna - Punjabiyon mein yeh bhot common hai..

I - Par sahdi wale ghar mein. rituals start hone ke bad?

They were talking and were thinking to go to their rooms when Boys noticed their shadow on the window and got scared.

They slowly went to the window and saw outside only to see the girls.

Romi (shouted) - Aap log?

His brothers told him to talk slowly while girls looked at them. They started arguing while Ishita and Mihika were glaring at Raman and Romi respectively while they were just standing down casting their eyes for their own reasons. After some time, Raman tried to handle the situation and stopped them. He was about to say something when they heard his father,

Mr Bhalla - Kya ho rha hai yaha?

GIrls turned around while Mr Bhalla saw the boys and their one look was enough to tell him the truth. They looked down getting caught red handed.

Mr Bhalla (strictly to girls) - Tum sab apne apne room mein jao.

They nodded and left silently while he glared at the boys and left without saying anything. He went inside and closed the door while Ishita asked how will they come inside to which for the first time Ishmi heard his harsh voice,

Mr Bhalla - Ishita puttar, is ghar ke kuch niyam kanoon hai aur yeh har sadasya janta hai. Tumhe bhi dheere dheere pta chal jaayega. Bhot der ho gayi hai, jakar so jaao tum sab.

All left to their rooms.

Next morning, Ishita saw Raman and asked about Mr Bhalla’s reaction.

R - Actually, dadaji aur dadiji ko yeh sab pasand nhi, punjabi hai hum to persomal level par koi restrictions nhi hai par is ghar ka rule hai, sharab aur usko peekar ghar mein galti se bhi nhi aana chahiye, agar peeni hai to bahar piyo aur bahar hi raho.. puri rat. Actually festivals aur functions par jyada strict rules hai.

I - To isiliye uncle ne kal rat ko door close kar dia tha..

R - Ha. ek daru ke chakkar mein meri to halat hi khrab ho gai kal.

I - To aisi galti karni hi kyu? Acha hua.

R - excuse me. Hum roz roz nhi peete aur main to bhot kam peeta hu. Vo to un teeno ne itna request kia to maine ha kar di. Tumhe kya pta. subah panch baje uth kar dhandhe pani se bahar hi nahaya, phir unhe jagaya, un teeno ko to hosh hi nhi tha, maine un par pani dala phir kahi unhe thoda hosh aaya. Subah subah pared ho gai aaj to meri.

Ishita laughed at him but then composed herself and said,

I - I hate alcohol and those who drink it. Sochna padega hamari friendship ke bare mein.

R - Kya? Arey ek glass daru ki saza itni badi. I didn’t know about it otherwise ek boond bhi nhi peeta.

I - Itni important hai yeh friendship aapke liye?

R (smiling) - You don’t know Miss Ishita Iyer ki yeh friendship mere liye kitni important hai. Mauka milega to bta dunga kabhi..

He said smiling, making her surprised. Both looked at each other for some time, then Raman said,

R - And by the way, naraz to mujhe hona chahiye..

I - Kyu?

R - Kyu? Like really, bina galti ke, kal tumne mujhe apne us so called ladies function ke fun le liye bakra bna dia aur ab itni bholi ban rhi ho..

I - Arey aisa nhi hai. Vo to chachi ji ne challenge dia tha ki hum bhi aisa koi program kar sakti hai ya nhi aur phir Sapna ne btaya ki uski sister ki wedding mein bhi aise hi unhone sister ke brother in law ka.... so we started planning and ended up doing all that. Really sorry if I hurt you.

R (smiled) - It's okay. Punjabi puttar hu, aise chote mote pranks se humhe bura nhi lagta. It just I thought why me?

I - Actually, pehle sirf Mihika was about to present that on Romi then Rajni too joined her as Chirag used to make fun of her. Then Sapna told ki do bhai ho gaye aur do reh gaye aur phir un logo ne yeh sab plan kia aur mujhe bhi include kar dia...

He smiled and said,

R - It's good that they included you.. is bahane mujhe pta to chala ki tumhe bhi dance aata hai.

Both shared a sweet smile.

Here I'm ending this part. Hope you will like it. I will be taking all the rituals one by one presenting Ishra in it.

It was Mehandi function mans were not allowed romi and raman were just helping in arrangments after arrangements were done chachiji asked them to leave romi said it's not fair after doing all prepration she asking them to leave raman said they just want to take pic with preeta after that they will leave all were denying but dadiji asked let them be for sometime ishmi and preetas friend brought preeta raman notices ishita wearing salwar suit she was looking different he click preeta pics and was taking ishitas pic to romi teased him raman got embarrassed all brothers took pic with preeta they were going when they heard girl had planned something ishmi asked them to leave raman heard ishita is also participating girls closed the door on their faces boys wanted to attend the function they looked at raman he was also excited hearing Ishita is also taking part in function he said they should attend they got the idea hearing elders talk they dressed up as ladies and went inside hiding from their family ladies and ishmi function started two girls came dressed as romi and chirag mihika and rajini started dancing around them romi and chirag were angry raman and kuldeep were laughing kuldeep said they are safe romi said no they are not they showed them ishita and sapna dragging two girls dressed as raman and kuldeep raman was enjoying ishitas dance when song got over raman said they should also take fun they blocked girls way loved whole scene all were angry seeing boys but boys are so smart all enjoyed boys were planning something girls notices at night girls were taking walk in garden they saw boys going in out house they asked where they are going they made excuse and entered in room and closed the door girls got suspicious they saw from window boys were drinking and partying ishmi were disgusted boys got shocked seeing girls raman and romi were looking down ishmi were glaring at them all started arguing when mr.bhalla came he understood the matter he asked girls to in their room he looked boys angrily and went inside home and closed the door ishita asked why he closed the door he said this house have some specific rules she will understand slowly next morning ishita saw raman loved ishra scene that was beautiful
