'So... Mind telling me what really got you so upset... ' He said and she turned looking at him

'I don't...'' She began and for whatever reason he could see right through that

'You can trust me Ishita and I think you already know that...'' He said

'I mean you carried yourself pretty well if you ask me so the after reaction wasn't quite expected... What did he remind you of...'' He added

'The last time I saw him was the day my mother died...'' She said sighing as she became teary again

'Am so sorry for your loss...'' He said

'Thank you... I miss her so much... I mean I can't believe it has been 6 years... You know...'' Said Ishita

'I know what you mean...'' Said Raman understanding exactly what she was talking about

'I blame them all for her death, and I am going to make sure they pay for it...'' Said Ishita

'How... I thought she died of a cardiac arrest...'' Said Raman

'No... That is the...'' She said then she stopped again and turned looking at him

It was almost as if she was trying to figure out why she was even talking about this to him of all people. This was something she never told anyone not even Mihika knew that part. Raman who knew she needed to take her time just sat back and looked at her

'That is the story that they told the world... I mean she is a Shergill... Was a Shergill ... Reputation is everything... I had to learn that at a very early age...'' Said Ishita chuckling as if the pain would disappear

'Then what happened to her...'' Asked Raman

'Well Rajeev showed up at the house, I was asked to go to my room, I was 16 at that time and I was old enough to understand my parents, their marriage was ...'' Said Ishita standing up as she went sitting on the bonnet of the car

'Anyway, Rajeev showed up home with a bunch of nonsense and a couple of hours later my mother was blowing her brains out... She shot herself...'' She added thanking God that she was seated because she didn't have the strength to keep on her feet while she went back memory lane

'Oh My God...'' Said Raman looking at her

'You know what that cold hearted son of a bitch Mr. Iyer did when he heard, He showed up at the house with her... He didn't respect my mother at all... All of them didn't...They just ...'' Said Ishita scoffing as she added

'I think I should stop talking now... Girls with daddy issues aren't very attractive or sexy...'' And Raman knew she was just desperately trying to change topics because this was painful to hear, imagine who was going through it

He walked to where she was seated and stood in between her legs looking at her before he asked

'Can I just hug you?'' And she just looked at him

'I am going to hug you now...'' He added and he put his arms around her

He lost Shagun to an accident and his world turned upside down, he felt his heart had stopped because the most important person in his life was gone and he imagined how a 16 year old girl would have been like finding her mother dead after committing suicide. She was stronger that she lead on, and the hard exterior she put on he now understood was her way of dealing and not allowing people to see her weak or broken.

She let go because she knew if she kept in his hold she would begin crying again and she hated that

'Okay stop... I am going to start crying again...And I hate doing that'' She said and Raman let go looking at her and he could see she was still trying so hard not to cry and then it dawned on him

'Did you even grieve your mother...'' He said

'What...'' She said looking at him as if she didn't understand

'I didn't have time for all that... I had something important to do... Something I had promised her I would finish...'' She said

'Ishi...'' He said softly

'She would have wanted me to finish what she started other than sit around and cry...'' Said Ishita getting uncomfortable before she added

'Can we talk about something else... I don't want to talk about my mom anymore...''

'Okay... Fair enough ... ' Said Raman as he sat next to her

He of all people knew when not to push and also when someone needed their space. Maybe it wasn't a good thing that he wasn't asking her to talk about all this but it wasn't in his place to push. He hadn't earned that right yet and he knew that.

'Can I just tell you, I didn't know you were a bully...'' He said making light of the moment and she with an o-shaped expression turned and looked at him

'What the... Why would you think that...'' She said as she wiped the tears that had been forming in her eyes

'Are you kidding me? You almost made a grown woman cry a few hours ago... A grown woman Ishita and you didn't even flinch...'' He said and Ishita threw her head back laughing

'Hey you can't blame me there... She was impersonating me, she needed to have thicker skin otherwise she was just useless...'' Said Ishita

'Do you even know her...'' Said Raman

'No... I have never seen her before... Besides if I knew her I would probably be stuffing her with food...'' Said Ishita and Raman chuckled

'It really bothered you that she was that small...'' He said

'Raman... Did you really see that woman...? She was really skinny... In fact skeletal is the word I am looking for... It isn't normal for a grown woman to have the same weight as a toddler...'' Said Ishita and Raman smiled

'Yeah she really was tiny...'' He said

'Thank you... I wasn't being mean... I was helping her... It was humanitarian work...'' She said

'Oh is that so... You... Insulting her like that... That was humanitarian work...'' Said Raman laughing

'Of course...'' She said and she began laughing as well

'You're horrible...'' He said but she just continued to laugh

He sat back and watched her and it became a breath of fresh air. The sound of her laugh was so calming that he would never really understand how much he needed that until it was too late. She turned and looked at him and she could see he was staring at her with a smile on his face which caused her to say

'What...''

'Nothing...'' He replied

'Well... You're staring...'' She said

'Want me to stop...'' He said and she smiled saying

'Nope...'' And he smiled back as he pulled her closer to him kissing the tip of her nose

'You're a bigger flirt than I am...'' She said

'No... That I disagree with... You flirt with anyone who cares to give you attention...'' He said

'That is so not true...'' She said

'You were flirting with me the day you met my mother...'' He said

'That wasn't flirting... I had just gotten snacked in the face, I can't be responsible for what I said or did...'' Said Ishita

'Yeah Right...'' Said Raman smiling

'How about Romi... How do you explain that'' He added

'Romi I love teasing so I can't defend myself there... ' She said

'Teasing him... Why...'' Said Raman

'He has a huge crush on Mimi... You should see him around her... He blabbers... She makes him really nervous. It is kind of cute...'' Said Ishita

'Romi is interested in another person other than himself... Romi ...'' Said Raman

'Yeah... Why are you so surprised? Is he a bad boy...'' Said Ishita

'No of course not...'' Said Raman

'That was not very convincing...'' Said Ishita and Raman chuckled

'If he hurts her I will castrate him...'' She added

'Whoa... Calm down already... Crazy person ...'' Said Raman and Ishita laughed as wrapped her arms around herself

'Here...'' Said Raman as he took off his jumper and put it around her

'Thank you...'' Said Ishita as she took in his musky smell

'Buzz... Buzz...'' Off went Ishita's off

'Don't pick up...'' He said

'What... Why...'' She said

'Because... This is a nice evening... Interruptions just spoil it...'' He said

'That is ridiculous... Besides you never let your calls go... Regardless of what we are doing ...'' Said Ishita as she bent forward taking her phone from her pocket

'That is not...'' He said thinking again before he said

'Fair enough...'' Realizing she was right

'Hello...'' Said Ishita as she turned looking at Raman

'Hey... How have you been'' She said and Raman began looking at her critically because she had a naughty look in her eyes

'Hey Ishita... I have been alright... Sorry hadn't called...'' Said Jai

'That is fine... Better late than never right ...'' She said

'Right... I wanted to ask if you are busy right now...'' He said

'Uhh...'' She said smiling at Raman before she added

'Kind of... Why...''

At that point he began getting curious as to who she was talking to. He began mouthing asking her who it was but she wouldn't answer him

'Well I wanted to see if you could go out with me...'' Said Jai and Ishita smiled again naughtily grabbing Raman's attention even more

'Like out on a date kind of thing...'' Said Ishita

'Yeah... Exactly like that ...'' Said Jai

'What did you have in mind...'' She asked and Raman grabbed her phone and before Ishita could even do anything. He was holding it and putting on loud speaker

'Hey are you there...'' Said Jai

'Yeah Jai am here...'' Said Ishita

'Okay I was wondering if you could go to this event next week... It will be for a good cause plus there will be great food and some really good people...'' He said

'Say No...'' Mouthed Raman and Ishita smiled

'Uhh...'' She said

'Oh we can just go out to dinner... Whatever you want I just want to see you again'' Said Jai

'You said next week... For the event ...'' She said

'Yeah...'' He said

'Can I get back to you on that. I need to check my schedule first...'' Said Ishita

'Ouch... You're blowing me off...'' Said Jai

'No... I swear... I will get back to you...'' Said Ishita sweetly much to Raman's annoyance

'Alright... I am going to hold you to that...'' Said Jai

'Sure...'' Said Ishita

'I will talk to you later then...'' Said Jai

'Okay... Bye...'' Said Ishita and Jai hang up

'I can't believe you just made dinner plans with another man while I am right here... Like I am not relevant'' Said Raman

'Why... Are you jealous...'' Said Ishita clearly baiting him

'No... Of course I am not... Why would I be...? All I am saying is you could have at least spared me from listening to you talk to a man who clearly has the hots for you...'' He said

'I didn't want you to listen... You grabbed my phone...'' Said Ishita and Raman got down from the car

'Whatever let us just go. It is getting late anyway...'' He said getting upset

'Hey... Come on... Don't be mad...'' Said Ishita as she grabbed his hand
