Back in the living room, Raman was not prepared for the conversation that his mother was cooking up and he wasn't expecting it when he heard her say

'Don't get upset but I have set up a meeting for you with this family... For you to meet their daughter ''

'Am sorry what...'' Said Raman shocked to his wits

'They will get here in a while... I asked Neelu to come back make sure everything is prepared... Chef Rahul already took care of everything all Neelu and the Nanny have to do is serve... I also...'' Santosh went on and on but Raman was so shocked that he couldn't quite make out what his mom was even saying

'You what... I don't think I quite heard you right...'' Said Raman

'Which part didn't you get... I said...'' Santosh began again and Raman shut her down

'What the hell gave you the right to think it would be okay to do something like that...'' Said Raman angrily

'Oh God where do I start... Your kids... Even the biggest idiot knows these kids need a mother... I know you need someone in your life in order to move on... I have tried doing it the right way and talk to you about it but you always shut it down and avoid me so... Now as a mother I am going to intervene and do right by you and my grandbabies, it is my job...'' Said Santosh

'Ruhi... Adi... Come with me... I need to know all about this famous girlfriend of yours...'' Said Vishu who in all honestly wanted to avoid being in that conversation and also didn't want the kids to witness that. The children knowing they were not wanted there politely agreed

'Mama... Call them and ask them not to show up...'' Said Raman as he grabbed his phone and handed it to his mother

'No... Raman, I am sorry but you need to see this through...'' Said Santosh knowing she was treading on a very thin line

'I am not interested in anyone nor am I interested in getting married... My children are perfectly okay... They are more okay than most people with both parents... I have been taking care of them since Shagun died and have been doing a good job at that...'' Said Raman angrily

'I never said you weren't...'' Said Santosh

'So in which scenario does this plan of yours play out...I am not interested in getting married... I am never going to get married again... Just let me be and leave me alone...'' He shouted

'I can't do that Raman... As my mother I can't allow that...'' Said Santosh standing her ground

Raman wanted to curse her out for interfering so much in his life. This was the reason he moved away from them and settled in Delhi. His mother had a way of getting under his skin and because she knew how much he allowed her get away with, she always thought she was allowed to do what she wanted but this time she had crossed a line and there was no coming back from there. He looked at her wanting to yell but words just wouldn't come out.

The door went open and in came Neelu and Mihir who had been asked to come back by Santosh. They greeted them or so Raman thought because he was so taken up with rage that he couldn't quite make out what they were saying.

Back in the kitchen Rinky was still trying to get at Ishita as she continued hauling insults at her but Ishita was no fazed at all and just kept mocking her

'You really think you are all that don't you...'' Said Rinky

'Noo... But in comparison of you, yeah I am...'' Said Ishita

'Sooner or later my brother will not protect you so much because the only reason he allows you to stay given your incompetence is the fact you managed to dupe his kids into liking you... But I will fix that and I will show you your place ...'' Said Rinky

'Okay... Whatever you say ...'' Said Ishita disregarding her antics as she grabbed her glass of juice

'I am also going to tell him how you have been lying to him all this time about your family... There is no one who knows you in that small village you say you're from...'' Said Rinky and Ishita looked up at her

She added and Rinky stepped back a bit frightened

'I missed you the most...''Said Ishita teasing but Mihir knowing her just shook his head ignoring her antics

'Hell Mam...'' Said Mihir as he turned to Rinky but Rinky just stormed out

'Oh God what did you do this time...'' Said Neelu

'Mama... No you didn't...'' Said Rinky

'Ding Dong...'' Off went the door bell

'Now be at your best behavior, the guests are here...'' Said Santosh

There was a man and woman standing at the door way with a woman Raman assumed was supposed to be the so called match. Santosh greeted them and welcomed them inside expressing her excitement that they were finally there. All the while Raman was just staring at his mother given he was a bit at a loss of words.

'This is Rinky my youngest and this is Raman... As you all know... Everyone these are the Shergills and this is their Niece Ishita...'' Said Santosh

'Wait... What...'' Said Raman shocked

'Told you, you would like her...'' Said Santosh completely misunderstanding that reaction

'Pleeaasseee tell me this is actually happening and I am not imagining things...'' Said Raman and the woman who was with them smiled again misunderstanding

'With that reaction I am assuming you know her...'' Said the man

'Uhh no but I am fascinated to find out...'' Said a now calm slightly amused Raman

'She is Ishita Shergill Iyer, Daughter to Anjali Shergill and heiress to the Shergill and Iyer estate...'' Said Santosh

'Oh is she now...'' Said Raman and Rinky turned to look at her brother

'Dude what is the matter with you...'' She whispered but Raman just ignored

'Very nice to meet you...'' Raman smiled as he came forward extending his hand

'Excuse my earlier behavior... I am not used to having strangers in my house...'' He said

'It is fine... I understand... But I am sure once we get to know each other then we shall not be strangers anymore...'' She said

'Of course...'' Said Raman smiling and his mother smiled back her heart bursting with pride

Santosh always wanted a high class girl who she knew would not only be able to take care of her son and kids but also be able to carry her own. Marrying a middle class girl always came with complications of their own as there was always the possibility that one would only show up because of her son's wealth. If they got a girl from a well off family them she would have no reason to try and take her son's. Her heart was in the right place but she was nave to think the world worked like that.

Raman on the other hand was slowly understanding why Ishita hid this from people, I mean seriously how could they honestly stand in his house with straight faces and lie so easily like that.

'By the way the nanny of my kids is also called Ishita...'' He suddenly said

'Well Ishita is a good name...'' Said the daughter

'Indeed it is... She is Ishita Prem from Thiruvananthapuram...'' Said Raman still amused and excited that even the guests didn't quite know how to react

'Yeah... Yeah ... Of course ...'' Said Santosh as she got up and walked away pulling Rinky away as well as they headed upstairs

'Mom... He is going to do something crazy...'' Said Rinky

'No he won't... Besides this is the first time that he has allowed to sit down with anyone I have arranged. I knew ambushing him was a good idea... And your father thought I was crazy...'' Said Santosh smiling with pride as the disappeared upstairs

Raman turned to his visitors looking at them for a second or two before he said

'Will you excuse me just for a second...Please...''

'Yeah sure...'' Said the mother and Raman got up walking to the kitchen

Ishita was in the kitchen helping out Neelu with the specific instructions she had been given on how to arrange everything food wise. She had gathered the plates and was on her way to set up the table when Raman walked in

'Ishita...'' He called her

'Yeah...'' She said as she turned holding plates in her hands and looking at him

'Oh My God you won't believe who I have in my Livingroom...'' He said and she looked at him a bit surprised that he was acting this casual with her in front of Neelu and Mihir

'Uhhh Boss... Are you alright...'' She said almost reminding him

'Forget the boss nonsense... Okay come with me...'' He said removing the plates from her hands and handing them to Mihir

'Wait... Sir ...'' She said but he just grabbed her hand and walked out with her

'What just happened...'' Said Neelu but Mihir just shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to the dining table

'Sorry about that...'' Said Raman as he walked into the room again Ishita behind him

'No worries...'' Said the man and Ishita frowned a bit when she heard that voice that when Raman got out of her review she could see exactly who it was

'What the f**k...'' She murmured to herself but Raman had heard her

'Oh this is the nanny... I just thought it would be great if she got to meet her name sake...'' Said Raman as he turned to Ishita

'Ishita Prem... Meet Ishita Iyer...'' Said Raman as he sat back in his chair and waiting for whatever was about to unfold.

In all honesty Raman didn't know if Ishita even knew these people but he knew she would react if she heard someone lie about her mother or use her mother's name in vain but the way the conversation was about to turn, he didn't see this coming. But as much as he was about to be caught off guard, he was going to enjoy it.

The two people who were supposedly Uncle and Auntie almost fell from their seats when they saw her. It was like they were looking at a ghost given how much they seemed like the wind had been sucked from them.

'Oh My God... It really is you...'' Said the man as he looked at her

'Abhimanyu... You son of a bitch...'' Said Ishita shaking her head because as soon as she saw him, she recognized him

Santosh who was getting restless upstairs decided to come back down and see how everything was going and she was surprised when she saw Raman close the door as her guests left. She hurried back downstairs as she intercepted Raman who was walking to the Kitchen where Ishita had gone

Raman got to the kitchen and Ishita was standing her head down as she leaned on the counter as if using it for support. She seemed like a shadow of the person who was in the living room a few seconds ago and it was clear she had been shaken up by whatever had just happened in there because she wasn't doing anything to hide it now.

'Ishita are you okay...'' Neelu asked her but Ishita didn't answer

'Ishita... Come on what happened...'' Asked a concerned Mihir

'Neelu... Mihir... Get back to what you were doing and give us a minute...'' Said Raman and they obliged

'I don't know... I need to call Mimi... She needs to contact someone for me...'' Said Ishita as she looked up searching for her phone and that is when Raman saw her face and she was seriously scared

'Raman what...'' Rinky walked in and that is when she saw Raman and his concern for Ishita

'Look at me...'' Said Raman ignoring Rinky

'What happened to her...'' Said Rinky carelessly

'Ishita, I am talking to you...'' He said again

'Raman mom is calling you back in there...'' Said Rinky

'Okay this is counterproductive...'' Said Raman as he grabbed Ishita's hand and walked out with her

With his hand still in hers he walked back to the living room with his sister following suit not quite sure what was going on. Ishita tried to get away from his hold but Rama wouldn't let go and he just continued walking with her out

'Raman... Raman... Hold on... What is going on'' Said Santosh

'Nothing...'' He said as he began looking for his car keys

'What are you looking for...'' Santosh said

'Car Keys...'' He said

'Why... Where are you going'' Santosh asked again

'Office... Where the hell are my keys...'' He said

'Will you just hold on...'' Said Santosh as she held the keys in her hands and Raman turned to look at her mother with Ishita's hand still in his

'Can I at least know where the hell you're going or better yet where you are taking her...'' Said Santosh as she looked at Ishita who seemed a little out of it

'Oh I already told you, I am going to office and as far as she is concerned, I promoted her... She is my assistant/nanny...'' Said Raman taking the keys and walking out

'What the hell does that even mean...'' Said Santosh

'It means Ishita is now his assistant as well...'' Said Vishu

'Why... What could that girl possibly do in Raman's company...'' Said Santosh angrily

'Does this all seem a bit familiar to you...'' Said Vishu

'Yeah... This is Shagun all over again...'' Said Santosh

When Raman was at college her mother vehemently refused him to see Shagun, she didn't like her and she always thought her son could do better. Raman in retaliation began being withdrawn and a bit secretive where she was concerned and his mother had to quickly learn that if she still wanted her son in her life. She had to accept Shagun sooner or later.

Santosh was grateful that she was wrong about Shagun because she ended up being the best thing that ever happened to her son and they had a happy life but lightening does not strike in the same place twice.

'Maybe we should cut him some slack... His walking out with the nanny doesn't mean a thing and also he has proved to be a good judge of character in the past. Give him a benefit of doubt...'' Said Vishu

'Please... You just allow your sons to get away with anything'' Said Santosh

'Because I trust my upbringing and trust they will do the right thing...'' Said Vishu turning t Rinky as she said

'Rinky on the other hand... '

'Oh come on Papa... Why are you always on my case...'' Said Rinky

'Because you are still very much a child and still have a lot more to learn... After that debacle you pulled last time, I am not sure I trust you...'' Said Vishu

'But Papa she was the on chasing me around with the bat...'' Said Rinky

'You lucky she was just chasing you around. I would have slapped that stupidity from your head... Since when is drinking and being stupid a resume for fun...'' Said Vishu who clearly hadn't gotten over that

'How many times do I need to apologize for that...'' Said Rinky

'No more late hours... I do not care that you are older now; you are to do as I say... And you have a curfew as well... Until you prove tome that you can handle being alone... No going out...'' Said Vishu

'That is ridiculous I am a grown woman... I am allowed my freedom...'' Said Rinky

'True... But until you are under my care, spending my money, you do as I say...'' Said Vishu

'Vishu come on...'' Said Santosh

'You have your way of dealing with Raman and Romi, I have mine of dealing with Rinky...'' Said Vishu

'That is so not fair...'' Said Rinky teary

'Curfew starts today... I expect you in this house by 8; 00pm tonight any second more I am done with you...'' Said Vishu

'What... No... I have stuff to do... I just can't... No... Mama... Please talk to him...'' Said Rinky but even Santosh knew there was a lot more to this harshness and there was nothing she would say in that time for him to understand

'This is not fair...'' Said Rinky as she ran upstairs crying

Raman walked out with Ishita taking her to the car but she wouldn't get in and she was very angry. She just walked passed the car and out the gate visibly upset and he had a feeling he knew why

'Ishita...'' He called her

'What was the meaning of that...'' She said

'Okay before you start yelling at me as to why I took you out of their like that, allow me explain...'' He said and she stood

'I know something isn't right with you and you are worried especially after that idiot who just came in a while back... I wanted to talk to you and I knew there is no way you would talk to me freely with everyone there... I have noticed you never really talk to me when everyone is there... So I figured if I took you out then I will be able to talk to you freely... You are not okay Ishita I can see it, it is written all over you' He said

'You mom will cause trouble for me Raman... I can't have her cause trouble for me Raman ...I haven't stayed quiet and away for no reason'' She said worried

'Let me worry about her... Trust me you are safe with me...'' Said Raman and Ishita calmed down

'What was he even doing in your house?'' Said Ishita

'He was...'' Said Raman as he looked around before he said

'Can we just get out of here... We can find a quiet place to talk'' He added

'Fine... Where are you taking me anyway...'' She asked

'Just get in the car...'' He said and they walked back inside and got into the car

We will figure it out once I drive out...'' He said

'Fine... I get it... But I am fine now anyway why don't we just get back inside...'' she said desperately trying to hold back and change topics

'Oh no... You cannot possibly think I do not have questions after what just happened in there...'' Said Raman as he put the key in the ignition starting the car

'I do have questions as well but you don't see me asking anything...'' She said defensively and Raman knew what she was talking about

'He came in with that other woman because of my mother...'' Said Raman

'How does your mother know Rajeev...'' Said Ishita

'Long story...'' Said Raman

Well we are driving to nowhere, I think we have time...'' Said Ishita

He got out of the car and asked her to come out as well which she did. She looked around and she noticed they were pretty such in the middle of nowhere. Curious as to what he wanted to do, she went to him standing where he had asked her

'Scream...'' He said

'What...'' She said

'I am saying... Scream... Like Ahhh... Scream...'' He said

'Why... This is silly even for you...'' Said Ishita

'Since when is something being silly ever stopped you from doing it...'' He said

'Wha... Raman seriously...'' She said

'Come on... Until you screen we are not leaving...'' Said Raman standing his ground

'Arrrggghhh...''She yelled turned looked at him and did it again

There was a lot she wanted to say but just quite couldn't and also had a lot of anger in her that when she let go, it was like her father was standing right in front of her and he was right, all she wanted to do was just yell and scream at him.

'Arrrggrgghhh... Ahhh ...'' She said as she fell to her knees and began to cry

Raman went to where she was and knelt down as he held her in his arms and just let her cry. This was needed and as much as it was hard for him to see, she needed this more than anything. He was slowly beginning to learn that the snappy comments and her way of behaving was her dealing with a lot. He could only imagine what she had to go through to be where she was today

'It is okay... Just let go...'' He said but she just held on to him like her life depended on it

She cried some more as he confronted her and for whatever reason it felt right, it felt like she could be herself with him and not worry so much what he would think or even how he would feel. It was almost like she already knew and she didn't need for him to tell her again.

When Raman realized she was beginning to release herself from his hold he let her and tried to look at her but she couldn't allow him

'Hey look at me are you alright...'' He asked concerned

'Yeah...'' She said

'Well then look at me...'' He said

'I look horrible when I cry so give me a minute...'' She said and he chuckled

'I can tell you're feeling better...'' He said and she chuckled as she finally looked at him

'Thank you... I needed that...'' She said

'Always...'' He said and she just smiled as she tried looking away again

Her eyes were puffy and red from all the crying and he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable when she became vulnerable around him, she didn't have to. So he took a leaf from her book

'You know you do not have to feel so embarrassed around me just because you cried... I mean I cried like a little ball less bitch not so far ago so I say we are even...'' He said and she turned her mouth with an o-shaped expression as she said

'Wha... Oh God...'' And she began to laugh

'You are not allowed to talk like that ever again...'' She added

'Why... Too much ...'' He said smiling

'Yeah... It sounds strange when you talk like that...'' She said as she laughed some more

'Yeah it didn't sound quite right...'' He chuckled and she began relaxing

'Why do you curse so much anyway...'' He added

'It is not that I want to. I kind of just do... It is nor of those bad habits you pick up but can't shake of but I try to hold my tongue...'' She said

'Yeah you don't try hard enough... What if you are talking to someone say about a business deal of a software update he needs but he is shutting you down... How do you hold yourself ...'' Said Raman

'Oh that is why I have Mihika; she is my voice in situations like that. I am also short tempered so it doesn't help either...'' Said Ishita

'Oh really... I would have never guessed...'' He said sarcastically

'f**k off...'' She says again chuckling and he did the same

'So... Mind telling me what really got you so upset... ' He said and she turned looking at him

'I don't...'' She began and for whatever reason he could see right through that

'You can trust me Ishita and I think you already know that...'' He said and

'I mean you carried yourself pretty well if you ask me so the after reaction wasn't quite expected... What did he remind you of...'' He added

'The last time I saw him was the day my mother died...'' She said sighing as she became teary again
