FF Bailed Out

The conventional norms of our society govern our being. Our
parents set out a rulebook for us and we follow that blindly like obedient
little children. Does it matter that we brutally crush our dreams to satisfy
the prying eyes of our beloved' society; that which we love so much? [Note:
sarcasm intended]

If we decide to choose or even utter the thought of
considering an unconventional career path, our parents begin to shoot daggers
at us. It isn't fair!

However, the question lies, do we even dare to do anything
to break away from the chambers of our societal norms. Well the question to
that, very simply, is a big fat no! We become so comfortable with sadness that
happiness becomes of little importance. Happiness is a choice and if we only
choose to be unhappy... well... we aren't really helping our sorry state!!

This story is my little attempt to spread the message of
contentment and satisfaction.

Prologue

"Raman yeh sab chod and
have a look at this!!"

Raman's eyes were glued
to his laptop screen, diligently, creating a presentation to show to his
investors, the day after tomorrow. As he heard Mihir exclaim he lost his focus
and ended up screaming at the poor chap, half frustrated from the monotony of his
job

"Are you blind Mihir??
Dikh nahi raha tujhe that I'm doing my work?"

"I'm sorry Bhai! Woh ...
main..." Mihir struggled for words as he realised that Raman had become but a
robot at the hands of his own mother. "Main chalta hoon..."

Raman's heart was filling
up with guilt. How was Mihir to be blamed that he had such a miserable life?
His dreams, aspirations, wishes, none had any importance. He was fed up with
the routine that this life offered. He deserved better and who knew that his
happiness was just at his threshold

"May I come in sir?"
