It's been ages since I saw this show but off and on I do keep a track to see how much of a mess they can make of a bound novel and I am not surprised at all.

The show died for me during the Mani angle, it wasn't about the woman having a friend, a confidante of her own but the way it was used to create contriving angles and dumping down of both leads. I expected a lot from two educated individuals who both had their own share of angst yet their behaviour was so immature . He emotionally abusing her and she with her highly condescending.

I am sorry, i don't really see the outrage here because I have seen worse. Wife-beating her husband in the name of slap-stick comedy. Raman forcing himself on her. But what was far worse , the so called love making- the guy insulted her a in full view in a party, she was almost molested , drugged out in a room but nope , no sensitivity to a woman's plight or her despair at the "what ifs" of her condition but they conveniently made it about so called passion..huh? How can a woman be intimate with her husband so soon, after facing the possibilities of molestation and worse. So why should I lynch Raman for talking surrogacy when the woman never showed me a reaction even after drugged out/almost molested experience.

Not only that, i then saw this lady talk about her sex life with the whole family- his ex-wife. Woah, really? Slow clap. Because that is so progressive, why the heck would you need to rub it on your ex- it's your intimate, moment, special and private .

But then we saw the whole butchering of a young child, because for Ishita it became all about "Ruhi ke liye". Never about her wants, desires of experiencing motherhood. It was rather conveyed through Raman while it seemed Ishita was going through a chore.

Now coming back to this promo, I am not that outraged ..1) it;s a promo . 2) - It's a husband having a conversation with his wife about their need/want/desire of another baby - I like that communication, they might differ on it but atleast they are talking , getting to know where each one of them stands and do they need it really? 3) Because ultimately they both conveniently take out Ruhi ke liye card 4) Is it insensitive of him- well he is been like that since always, in his anger he used to remind her of her condition - funny, that was more insensitive because she took it all and pretended that it was merely a lovers' tiff. 5) they never really talked about family, kids , aspiration- there is a lot of assumption running here and we try to extrapolate instead. 6) Ishita's call- as a wife, she will have to talk about this, present her case. Simple. Rather than silly OTT crying and outrage behaviour, can she act real for once and sit him down and share why she wanted the baby and she doesn't need to have a child to feel the emotion of motherhood . Can this couple ever learn to communicate ?

Personally they both are immature and not ready for any relationship, because they never seem to grow or treat their thing as one unit. They are in it because Ruhi, family and hence they will never separate because story trope breaks down. But that doesn't make them ideal couple or this love story worth cherishing.

All we are left is with a character called Ishita who is Ekta template, all verb , never a noun and Raman , the one to err and err .

Thank you for making this post. You have put it so bluntly, one can't even counter it. I am one of those people who have tried to stick to this show as much as I can and yes we the viewers are guilty on several counts here..there were many things that can be termed as outrageous that were forced down our throats..and we have swallowed them all..some of us used what we call as tunnel vision..all in the name of the lead actors who have always portrayed Raman Ishita & Ruhi so well..but this surrogacy track is more like a final blow..and so we are reeling and reacting!! I don't know how else to put it.

Aani

Extremely well said! Portrays the disgust felt by loyal viewers who have watched since the beginning! This surrogacy is the end because there is not even a micro smidgen of realism in it..with absolutely no stretch of the imagination would any man woman or animal let an ex, who had an affair dumped a man abandoned her 6 month old daughter poisoned his son put the children in danger insulted his family and wife, be a surrogate!!!!! I mean the entire time invested in loving this show is TOTALLY WASTED with this track! THE PREMISE OF THE SHOW IS SLAUGHTERED BEYOND REPAIR AND RAMAN'S CHARACTERIZATION BUTCHERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF GLORIFYING SHAGUN (no offense to Anita who was more loveable and believable as a grey character)!

I, like others am done if this track is shown! This is utterly demeaning, the rush for surrogacy for a child just because Ishita can't have one or is too weak at the moment!!! As you said how is RKB any better than Subbu and the rest of the society that taunted Ishu for her being barren!

Damm the CVs for being barren in their heads!!!

I hope they shut it down before this crap is shown! JUST END IT AND PUT US LOYAL FANS OUT OF OUR MISERY!

"Why is Raman in his guilt, as per the new promo, not realizing that if he forces this surrogacy upon Ishita, is being no different than Subbu, as per whom a woman is only worth her fertilised eggs?"

This is one of the most absurd generalizations I've ever come across on this forum.

I don't post much here but I read your post's Aani and every time I read..I ll be like 'copy-paste' that's exactly how I feel.
It hurts when a show you once loved being butchered like this.
Going for surrogacy is not an option for a couple like Ishra. Why need a surrogate mother? Ishita wont ever be happy..and she won't feel complete after that. Because she's again gonna think that she can't give birth to their own child and they have to ask another woman to carry their baby.It ll be a terrible feeling. Cant even imagine how it wud feel being in Ishita's place.
Like you said it was Raman who wanted Ishita to experience motherhood then how on earth is she gonna experience it this way? She being pregnant is a different thing altogether.
And I said 'other woman' but imagine Shagun being the surrogate.
Aren't Adi-Ruhi Shagun's children? I mean coming from her womb to be precise. Then why do IshRa need another child with Shagun in the picture.

I dont hope or expect anything anymore. Wish someone could knock some sense into the maker's and Ekta maiyya's brains.
Sorry if I dint make any sense. M too bad with words. But Bang On post Aani.👏

i've stopped watching it already - i just watch an epi or a particular ishra scene if forum raves about it :/
but it sucks! it sucks big time 😭 the deteriorating quality of the show has been like a rehab for my yhm addiction 😔
i've been using my remote!

still come to the forum for the wonderful stories from talented writers (who by the way are thousand times better than our esteemed cvs and should actually have been on the writing team instead on our esteemed cvs!)

@Topic maker: Did you watch the episode where Ishita said "Ruhi hai toh hum hai"? She proved her words by eloping with Ruhi leaving all the family members. Ishita's words and actions were exactly like that of Subbu. At that point she just reverberated what Subbu had told her before " a marriage or love can not survive without children". Even when she was forced to comeback due to her injury, her behavior with Raman was indicating so. If Sujata and Subbu wouldn't have brought Ruhi back to her, there was every possibility that their marriage would not have lasted.

The point is the moment they will give us an intense ishra scene or a mere hug...everyone will forget about what happened today
As per surrogacy...I guess it's a hype...nothing major would happen..

This ekta Mata is an expert in twisting minds...but seriously who cares ...cvs had butchered show. And it's characters long back

We are here just for ishra ...divan and a little hope of something sensible but u know
