Chapter-2

SOUL SOMEWHERE

"I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine,
I've been searching but I just don't see the signs,
I know that it's out there,
There's gotta be something for my soul somewhere!"

She kept on looking at his fragile body through the glass. As his chest ebbed and flowed in intervals, her eyes popped out each time to see whether the process is being continued or not. Her heart came to her mouth giving an acridity in her tongue whenever he took more than needed time to inhale and exhale.

She caressed his face through the mirror forgetting everything. She didn't feel her amma's hands shaking her. She was mumbling incoherently. The taut headed BUSINESS HEX is fumbling and fiddling in nothingness to get a grip. Her jelly knees giving away without finding his strong arms around her to make her stand. A part of her was dying each passing second.

Ayyo...When did I fall this DEEPLY IN LOVE?

A series of past happiness blinked ahead of her blurry eyes as she looked on shattered at his friable features.

FLASHBACK

"Seems like it is gonna be a long drive...!" She hugged his left arm while he focused on driving and replied philosophically, "No one can say that..."

She freed his hand and looked at him bemused. Sighing dreamily she exclaimed, "But I want to be like this...Going on and on and on...without a destiny...!" Their eyes locked for a spark second when he hissed amorously, "We are destiny!"

Letting her lips form an unusual flushy smile, she raised the stereo volume a bit to escape his piercing gaze. Although he wasn't looking at her at all.

"Only know wherever I go
We're as close as two friends can be
There have been others
But never two lovers
Like music, music and me

Grab a song and come along
You can sing your melody
In your mind you will find
A world of sweet harmony"

He chuckled hearing the lines while driving and glanced sideways at her to grasp her reaction. She temptingly drew patterns on the stereo as if to tease him.

He mouthed in disbelief, "What? Don't do that...!"

Continuing to trace the shape of the volume controller, and asked grousely, "Do what...?"

Gulping in a nervous lump he voiced, "Hum...nothing...you...you are just crazy...!"

She sat sideways looking at him cuddling her legs. He qustioned her weird behaviour for which she hummed some lines hoarsely.

"Birds of a feather will fly together
Now music, music and me
Music and me"

She laughed at herself saying, "You made me poetic!"

Nodding his head "Me...?"

She poked his shoulder with her index finger saying, "You're amazing Raman..." Shrugging his shoulder he muttered proudly, "I know I am! Darting his eyes away from the busy road and busying in her eyes, "And it is just because you're with me...!"

Sternly, "Stop the car"

He got a little perturbed by her sudden change. However he know the woman sitting beside him is way too loving only towards him. So he reacted in his usual half-smile-half-angry-mode, "Hey...are you mad? On the middle of the road...! Just hang on...we 're reaching.."

"I need to kiss you" She said taking in the beauty of his expressions changing from irritation to shock to chuckle then to a naughty smirk.

"You should have told me directly..."

******END OF FLASHBACK******

Her eyes never left the direction where he laid lifelessly, even after being dragged away from there. The doctors rushed to him when his body rocked in the bed vigorously. He pulled the matress unable to hold his breathlessness. He was jumping up and falling down in a battle to catch hold of his life. She wanted to help him hold on, but was helpless. She looked on at the people around her talking and doing things like robots.

Punching hard on his chest, they tried their best to bring him back. After a third world war in the ICU they came out to inform that he is slowly getting back to life. She didn't utter a word but flew inside the ICU leaving behind the interrogating eyes.

His eyes were tight shut and hers wide shut! Both could see nothing but darkness. She sat beside him feeling so weak. Caressing his forehead she brushed her lips there to feel him. He was cold like dead. She was terrified. She looked at the monitor showing his breathing. He is alive!

Taking his hand in hers she again checked the machine. Is it lying to her? Why his body this cold and pale like a ghost? Like dead? His flabby hand slipped out from hers when she was in her own thought making her all the more sombre.

Stroking his chest for some time, she gently kept her head on his heart to make sure that he is really breathing. Her lips shaped up in a genuine smile to feel his chest raising and falling sonorously agaist her head.

I...please...open your eyes Raman...I can't bear this pain anymore. Everyone says that I'm a bad girl. But...you know me right? Please tell 'em...I'm not that...bad. If it was anyone else...I'd not have felt this piercing pain...but it's...you...I'm just a woman...when it comes to you Raman..."

As if her words sunk in, he began to wriggle under her. Shocked and concerned for his well-being, she called out for help. After what felt like a lifetime, the doctor informed them that he gained consciousness.

BREAKING NEWS

RAMAN BHALLA BASHED AT THE MEDIA

Raman Bhalla abashed the media for harassing his fiancee. The young virulent business magnet had been hospitalised in the last day after meeting with an accident with his own girlfriend and business partner. Interesting part of the incident is his complete denial of the accident making the paparazies conclude his weak try to protect Miss Iyer. He dinied of giving further explainations but lashed out at the press for gossiping about his younger brother with his fiancee. As far as our eyes reached, Mr Bhalla Jr is still bedridden and responded with his ever polite tight-lips to further enquiry. Well everyone is waiting for the time to unfold the actuality.

WITH THE DOCTOR

Mr and Mrs Bhalla along with Ishita were discussing about Raman's further treatments. An all worried and nervous Dr Varun informed them of Raman's complicated sitiuation.

"Look...It won't be easy for you to confront with...but you should hear me calmly"

Ishita getting impatient, "To hell with your intro Dr Varun...! Come straight to the point..."

"Listen...please calm down. Mr Bhalla will be fine within a month.There is no doubt in that...

Frowning her eyebrows, "Then what makes you fumble?"

"He won't be able to walk..."

The words made the confines an inferno of silence. Her dream world was fragmenting to form a netherworld of bitterness. When she opened her eyes, she saw the glucose drops flowing through the tube to course into her vain as part of giving her strength.

"RAMANNN..."

That was heard like a deep exhaling by an exhausted asthma patient. Her amma and appa ran to her while she tried to clear her blurred vision. Amma was saying something unmindfully "to leave everything. To leave him. She jerked open her eyes and rushed to the doctor after removing the needle hastily.

"What should I do to bring him back...? How can I make him walk? What should I do to get my Raman back...? She asked rather screamed and punched on the table with all her might.

"It will be up to his confidence and the care he gets..."

"He is confident...! And I'll take good care of him"

ISHITA WITH HER PARENTS

The shrewd business man in Mr Iyer saw no profit in approving Ishita and Raman anymore. Sometimes everyone prioritises health other than money. Now that a paralysed Raman Bhalla can only do business not family. He believed her daughter will step back. He believed the infamous flirt whom the public figured in his sole daughter will leave a useless man like Raman Bhalla. But he was so wrong. DAMN WRONG!

"I can't leave him like that appa...I need to take care of him. You better get us married ASAP. After all these, I can't think of staying away from him even for a second"

Getting agitated, "Are you out of your mind Ishu...! I can't let you live your life like a maiden."

Shrugging of his coldness, "Don't be so dramatic appa. You're the one who had chosen him for me. And I've told you that I won't marry anyone else!"

Sternly, "Then don't. Don't marry anyone. But I won't let you marry him at any cost!"

Feeling offended by her own appa's warning tone, she looks at him with fury, "You can't control Ishita Iyer...! You're not suppose to tame me. It is my life and my decisions. Don't try to dominate me appa..."

On top of his voice, "I'm your father and..."

Cutting him short, "And I am your daughter. Moreover I'm a free human being, not your so called employee or slave...you get that?"

Waving his index finger at her, "You're gonna repent for it..."

Making a face, "I'll apologise then..."

"All I wanna do is find a way back into love.
I can't make it through without a way back into love.
And if I open my heart again,
I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end!

There are moments when I don't know if it's real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation"

Poor Raman this accident cause him to be paralyzed and Ishu want to take further step and takecare of him and marry him but her dad not agree. I don't know whAt will happen when Raman wake up and know he can't walk do he will blame and hate Ishu or not. Or the marriage of both will happen. Oh fod what an interesting story. I don't know how could you made us glue with you and your story agian and again.👍🏼👍🏼
