This show thankfully has so much to keep it afloat as a trendsetter .. but sadly the writers seem to be taking easy routes rather than being true to their own content.

Hey Anku,

Superb post yaar, the magic that was YHM 1yr back is sadly missing now. I am watching it just as a loyal fan. Where before i never used to miss any episode and watch all the repeats now I dont feel anything even if I miss episodes.

U written all the valid points and questions...I liked the importance given to both male and female leads initially and not show them as near perfect wife and husband. There was some genuine, realistic feel to the show. And of course the main angst will be opening such good tracks which could have been used to give a message to the society but were handled so poorly.

Wish the Indian shows dont cater so much to the TRPs. They go haywire because of it.

I agree, the faith in that show we saw initially is what keeps us going Now the charm is seen only momentarily and is rare. Hope they can raise the bar of the show again.

Hi,
You have all the correct questions but wondering where to get all the answers.

I am still watching YHM in the hope it will come back to my original version but these days most of the time I fast forward it instead of watching it for more than couple of time like back in 2014.

Thanks for making this post. You did bring out all the question we loyal viewers have who started watching it for the different concept they showed in the beginning deviating from normal soaps but now I can't tell any difference between YHM and other soaps.

Bang on post 👏 Just hoping the cvs read this n actually do something instead of ignoring it.
They have a brilliant cast n I really hope they change certain things n go back to the old feel of the show. 😳 I love the cast n watch it for them but I don't know how long they too can keep us hooked on
Thanks for posting this 😃

Wonderful post Anku! You have covered everything that most of the long term viewers have been feeling about the change in the tone of the show. I fell in love with YhM because of its writing and the ensemble cast. In indian Telly a modern, urban storyline is such a rarity and add to that the subtle, undertones of scenes .. YHM 11 pm was al that ...

True, its rare to have a show with such a modern and mature story line. If you've dared to take such an initiative to touch on such a story, you should have the courage to stick to it, why compromise it in the race for numbers?

And then everything just changed .. For worse ...with the addition of 7:30 pm slot... YHM has become another run of the mill desi soap with all bells and whistles of everything grand, especially melodrama... Why am I still sticking to the show I keep on asking.. It's because of IsHRa and tge ensemble cast... I still somehow believe in the Ishra story .. Still believe the same team that gave us 1 year or awesomeness cannot just simply let everything go down drain( we still see their occasional glimpses in few episodes) and as crazy as the Bhallas and iyers are.. They have become a part of my daily routine.. Sometimes that's hard to break.. And that's why even though I complain. Skip through certain chunks of episodes.. I keep on watching.. With the hope.. The hope of old magic that was YHM ... With the hope that we'll see some uninterrupted romance of the couple who are so much in love and needs atleast one track dedicated , like you put so well' to their 'mohabbat'

Exactly. It's a habit to watch the show. The Bhalla's and Iyers and our IshRa are a daily part of our lives and it's not something I can wash my hands off easily. But that is not something the writers should take advantage of either. We deserve to watch this show go over every story they promised with the same dedication as before. They laid the base of the show, Raman's past, the kids issues so well initially. They formed IshRa beautifully too. Not that how they developed is my problem. But now a year or so into the show why have they suddenly become lazy to keep up with the same? Why is every important track rushed, unnecessary tracks dragged, and why is every serious situation concluded with comedy which takes away the very meaning of it? 😕

I wish the creatives truly read this.. We believe in their product .. The previous version .. They need to probably believe it too.. Not everything needs extra -decoration.. Some things are best left simple especially if they are already perfect the way it was.

Great post Anku !

Thanks so much Gan 🤗 I wish the creatives do not regard our constructive criticism as bashing and do take note of our feedback. And very well said - not every show or story needs that extra dose of drama. Somethings are good, simple, basic and standard.

Excellent post Anku.. You have pretty much summed up what made us fall in love with YHM and how different it is post the time slot change.. You have also highlighted the points which have been troubling us since long which includes lack of proper closure to crucial tracks which were introduced..

Thanks so much Shveta. I've been reading this views from a lot of time now. And I mirrored them as well. I've been enjoying episodes because of the comedy lately, but something triggered me to write my vent down finally.

Anku Word! You voiced every viewers question. The basis of what this show is about is slowly fading due to the race for trps. That's the sad part about the whole 7.30 slot. Illogical tracks and mindless drama have taken over this show.

This show was great because at one point in the show both the leads specially the female lead was shown making mistakes, shown with insecurities and shown that they both had darks pasts. Also at the 11 pm slot this show brought up issues that are tabbo to talk about in the desi society. They use to push boundaries. So why change that now and why are trp more important in the quality?

My biggest problem with the cvs at the 7.30 slot has to be that they bring up sensitive issues and do not treat is properly. They have literally take rape, harassment, suicidal tendency, even child labour, abuse (emotional abuse counts) so lightly. These are serious issues in our society yet they choose to show these issues are no big deal. Its a big slap in our faces and specially those have gone through those horrible experiences.

I dont mind parallel tracks in the show but like everyone else I wish their would one track that just focused on the couple themselves. I am maybe the minority in this but I actually was enjoying Simmi's parallel track until they brought the whole Subbu-Simmi marriage. It seemed so illiogical because they just rushed into the whole marriage when Simmi didnt get time to grieve. No matter how your spouse was, you need time to grieve because you were betrayed. Why couldn't they show Simmi doing something for herself and they bring her remarriage way after in the show. It would have more realistic.

I wish the cvs would realize that they have such an amazing cast. The supporting and the child casts that improves each and every track that is handed to them. The cast is their biggest assets, so give them tracks that bring out their best acting. Its kind of sad that the cvs don't believe in their own product like us fans do.

Sorry for the long post. Wonderful post 😊
