OS: Patch up while the night is bright

Hi all,

This is an OS based on last night's disturbing episode. I will be continuing from the scene where Raman asks Ishita to get out of his house and then he goes up to his room while she storms out in her wheelchair with mihika.

It is not spell checked so pls overlook errors.

This one is dedicated to my girl gang. I love you all very very much!

"Bhabhi Bhabhi rukiye, meri baat suniye" Mihir called out but Ishita and Mihika went into the Iyer house without listening to him. Mihir returned to talk to the Bhallas.

"Uncle-ji Aunty-ji, I'm sorry to have caused so much pain to you all. I have accepted this marriage wholeheartedly and I will do whatever it takes to convince Rinki that she is and will be my wife and noone else."

"Bhai is angry with me now so I will talk to him when he cools down. Right now I need to speak to Rinky and you both need to talk to Bhai and tell him that Ishita Bhabhi didn't do anything wrong in all this" said Mihir to Mr and Mrs Bhalla and proceeded towards Rinky's room.

Raman was in his room, sitting on the edge of his bed resting both his hands on each side, shaking his legs nervously deep in thought.

His legs shook more rocking the whole bed and he started to bite his nails also now. He was sweating profusely.

"Raman?"called out his father, breaking him out of the trance. He turned to notice his dad mom Simmi and Romi standing in front of him looking very worried.

"Puttar, yeh kya ho gaya hai tume...aise kaise kiya tumne?" asked Mr Bhalla

"Papa please mujhe kisi ko koyi safai nahi deni...jo hua aapke saamne hua"

Meri gal sun puttar...Toshiji started but he cut her short.

"Maa mujhe kuch nahi sunn na...please all of you leave me alone" he said walking out of his room and out of the house.

He stood at the parking lot and remembered the moment they shared just a while ago. He stood at the exact same spot where he stood just a couple of hours ago when he had told her...

Ab se tumhari feelings aur tumhari khushi mere liye sabse pehle aayegi.

He felt a sudden heaviness in his chest. He recalled how she never left his side all evening,he thought about their romantic dance and the auto ride. He remembered how beautiful she looked and realized that her fragrance was still lingering inside and around him. Tears filled his eyes choking him.

Just then Mihir came near him and said "Bhai" making him turn quickly to the side to wipe his tears and turn back looking angry.

"I told you not to show me your face Mihir...don't you understand what that means?" he said gritting his teeth.

"Bhai I know you're angry and its justified completely, but you know me for a long time and you know I would never do anything to betray your trust or bhabhi's. You must know that Rinky's outburst has Shagun's mastermind in it along with my ignorance. I am just coming back after explaining to Rinky that I will do everything that it takes to make this marriage work and love...well love will come in too and I'm sure about it...we have the biggest examples in you and bhabhi. I told her that we are already fond of each other and love is meant to happen and when it does I will cherish and nurture it forever".

"After alot of convincing, she said she will be ready tomorrow morning waiting for me to come and take her back to our house...hers and mine...and I promise to keep her happy for the rest of our lives", Mihir completed.

Raman smiled tears rolling down, and clasped Mihir's hands with his own. He tried to talk but since he couldnt get words out he just pulled Mihir to give him a tight hug.

Mihir not only relieved him of his worries about Rinky, but also reminded him what he should have done and should be doing as a responsible husband. His children, his parents, his siblings...always took priority and she didn't have a problem with that. Hell, she even put up with his ex-wife...something that no woman (including his sister) would ever tolerate. She has always stood by him in good times and bad times and even though he realizes this, he still gives her only pain.

"Bhai, bhabhi ke saath jo hua bahot galat hua. You should not have sent her out and you know it's not her fault. Kya ho jata hai bhai aapko. Gusse mein kya kya suna diya? I tried talking to her but she is too upset to listen. She seems very hurt by your words. Bhai please I'm begging you, talk to her and bring her back home."

Mihir galati meri hai. I don't know what happens to me when I'm upset. Instead of solving the problem by talking things out I reacted and that is not justified. I take out my anger on you and Ishita the most, while you both take the beating and keep forgiving me. Main gadha hoon. Like you, even I have to take care of my marriage and nurture it. Main toh tumse bhi bada bewakoof hoon jo usko pyar karke bhi ab tak apni dil ki baat bata nahi paaya. Pehla pyar bhool na mushkil hai, but like I tried to forget and move on, you are also trying and I appreciate you for that. I trust you Mihir. I'm sorry yaar. Chal ab tu ghar ja...kal subah wapas bhi toh aana hai" said Raman hugging him again.

<Ting>It was 11.30pm when Ishita's phone beeped signalling that she received a message.

"Can you pls come out?" It was from him. She was just staring at it for over a minute when he messaged again.

"I know you're online now come out". She closed her whatsapp and turned to the other side of the bed.

<Ting> <Ting> <Ting><Ting>

Four more messages. It made her very restless. She was too upset to reply to him but the beeping sound made her heart race.

"Akka, dekhlo na. He is as restless as you are. It is evident that he is trying to say sorry. Talk to him na. Please na akka en chella kutti la?" Mihika tried to convince her.

"Please Mihika...you're saying this after seeing what happened? Let him keep messaging I don't want to talk to him. Raavan Kumar. And for your kindest information I'm not restless...I'm just sleepy...sone dogi mujhe?"

"Ok you don't check but I hope you won't mind me looking at your phone" said Mihika taking Ishita's phone in her hand.

Ishita said nothing. Afterall, she did want to know what the other 4 messages said.

Mihika saw the messages and went out of the room leaving Ishita wondering. She was lying on the bed facing the wall and couldn't tell if Mihika read the messages or not.

Two minutes later, Ishita casually turned to face Mihika and noticed that Mihika had left the room. She noticed her phone on Mihika's pillow and quickly grabbed it to see the unopened messages on her screen. She pouted as she read them.

"Tadap raha hoon<sad emoticon>"

"Milo na Madrassan"

"Please yaar"

"Please<heart symbol>"

She put the phone back on Mihika's pillow and turned to the other side staring at the wall. Her heart felt more heavy now. Tears rolled from the corner of her eyes onto the pillow. He had hurt her many times in the past, said so many mean things, but never once has he asked her to leave the house and that too in such a demeaning way in front of the entire family. After doing all this, how can he say Tadap raha hoon so easily. Rubbish. Tadap raha hai toh tadap ne do. She said wiping her tears.

When Mihika opened the door, she saw an anxious Raman getting up from the sofa in the lobby. He thought it was Ishita who opened the door and once he saw that it was Mihika he tried to hide his expressions and attempted to look relaxed.

"Mihika...I'm...I'm...what i'm trying to say is..."

"No jiju...please don't say sorry. I'm the one who is sorry. This is all because of me"

"Please yaar Mihika...it's not because of you. You are also like Rinky to me. How could I...I'm really sorry yaar" said Raman holding her hands.

"Jiju ab bas bhi karo. Jis kaam se aaye ho usse poora karo. I saw your message and thought I will help you. Akka is inside the room."

"Ok thanks" said Raman, entering the house. "Oh by the way, andar koyi sharp instruments toh nahi hai na? Paagal madrassan aaj mera kya haal karegi pata nahi. If I scream in pain please come to save me ok?"

"Done jiju ab jao" said Mihika laughing.

He went into her room and locked the door behind him making no sound.

He stood near her feet and admired her for a second. He then noticed her wiping her eyes and nose, making him realize that she had been crying. He went and stood where she could see him and cleared his throat so she could hear him.

Without waiting for her to react, he held both his ears and started doing uthak baithak(super brain yoga).

"Aap...yahaan..kya..mihika...usko toh mein abhi dekhloongi" said Ishita getting up in one quick movement. She tried to move to the door when he blocked her way.

"Please Ishita. Uski galti nahi hai. Sab so rahe hain. I want to talk to you for 5 mins only. I will leave after that. Please maan jao."

"Why should I..kyun maan jaaoon? And why should I listen to you? Kabhi suni aapne meri baatein? Never!! You threw me out of the house right? You should be happy celebrating your victory now. Not waste your time here. Please leave."

"Ishita please I know I made a big mistake and no matter how much I try I can never apologize enough nor forgive myself for what I've done".

"Hmph you do what you want to do..say whatever comes out and then say such dialogues effortlessly. I'm not the kinds who you can walk all over Mr.Raman Kumar Bhalla."

"I'm sorry Mrs.Bhalla. I'm really really sorry Mrs.Ishita Raman Bhalla" he said walking close to her.

"Please. Stop it. Don't you dare come close. Kya samajh te ho aap apne aap ko? How dare you accuse me of spoiling Rinky's life. Anything wrong happening in someone's life is all my fault? Did you ever realize that Shagun could have done something to instigate Rinky. She hates mihika and me. She lives in the same house as Rinky and you bloody well know what that woman is capable of, but no...you choose to blame me because it's the easy thing to do. Well I'm done taking blames. I requested Mihir because it felt right and I have no regrets about it. And all of you were happy to give your consent and blessings. Any second you may start accusing that I coerced you all into agreeing. Tell me Raman is that why you married me? To blame me for everything? Tomorrow if your car gets punctured you can blame me. If there is traffic on the road, it has to be because of Ishita. Power cut hua toh Ishita's fault..."

"My family is complete because of Ishita...I'm happy because of Ishita and I could fall in love again...because of Ishita" he completed her sentence.

She was quiet for a few seconds. They just looked at each other, their eyes speaking volumes. He then lowered his head down not able to look her in the eye.

"It hurts Raman. I never expected this from you. Especially not after a lovely evening and those wonderful things you told me outside."

"I'm sorry Ishita. I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you and Mihika and sorry for the words I said. Mihika cannot spoil Rinky's life and I knew this in my heart, but I still went on and reacted. I came here to apologize to you but when I can't forgive myself for what I did, I cannot expect you to forgive me. I have fallen miserably in my own eyes and cannot bring myself to say anything more. I'll go now" he said walking towards the door.

"Ruko"

"100 Uthak baithak mein 99 baaki hai abhi. Abhi start karoge toh subah tak khatam hoga" she said making him smile.

He turned around and said manzoor hai...aur kuch?

"Rinky aur Mihir ka problem hum milke solve karenge. Mihir is a nice guy..give him the chance to speak to Rinky and we will make her understand too."

"Mihir has spoken to Rinky already and convinced her to go back with him tomorrow morning...anything else?"

"Really? That's great. I'm very happy to hear that. I hope that their life is filled with lots and lots of happiness"

"Hmmm...maang hi rahi ho toh humaare liye bhi kuch maang lo"

"I've asked many times but where such things are written in my head. I ask something and get something else. Even simple things that I wish for like wanting to go alone with my husband doesn't come true. My husband makes subbu tag along."

"oh acha? btw I saw that daanton ka carpenter leave our apartment with his dog...what what he doing here so late?"

"sniff sniff hmmm confirmed...jalan...waise knowing what you are capable of when you get jealous, it is better that I clarify right away that Subbu came because his dog Lisa was missing Muthu."

"If he is one case, his dog is another case...why does he have to live in our neighbourhood...aur koi jagah nahi mila use...well he and his dog better keep away because..."

"because?"

"I...I...I..."

"Ab toh bolo!!!"

"I love my neighbour!!" he grinned nudging her shoulder with his.

I loved that Raman was restless n not liking the things he said. Atleast he had some feelings😕

Puttar should have tadpaod more 😡 Bad boy tht he was 😡

But he came that night itself n apologised 😳 😳

My fav part -

Now that's what we should have seen. If he had to act abusive, then there should've been remorse. He needs to acknowledge that he acted like a total shithead. Instead from what I heard, he went to the gym and there was no remorse.

Power cut hua, toh Ishita ka fault. Yes, and global warming too. And the Gulf War. And the mouse in my flat.

Love your writing Anu. I prefer this version and I am going to pretend this was yesterday's episode.
