Awww! The scene at the restaurant is adorable, especially when Ishita crosses her arms, and Raman reaches out to her, yea totally loved that. Raman's phone call 🤣 was just hilarious! Lets just say his mom has at least made the two progress their relationship a bit, which is great. Oh boy to say hit it where it hurts, Ishita unknowingly called Raman a manwh**e, which I guess is out of her own observation of him, but can't wait to see how she will make it up to him!
A/N: I don't think this story is gonna end in 3 chapters, I guess I will take 1 or 2 more chapters to complete it. Please bear with me😳
Part 3
"Raman! Raman? RAMAN!" yelled Ishita after Raman who strode to his cabin angrily. Goddamn these heels' she cursed as her pumps made it difficult for her to keep up with him. Everyone in the office lobby looked up from their work curiously at a yelling Ishita and angry Raman; this will serve as office gossip for at least 3 days. Ishita didn't care. Ishita was a gentle soul, the thought that she could hurt someone albeit unintentionally did not settle well with her and on top of that she hurt the man who had always been nice to her, always. Ishita didn't care to knock and simply went inside to see an angry Raman glowering at something outside his window, at what exactly, she wasn't sure.
"Raman? Listen to me please? I am really sorr-" before she could apologize Raman got up agitatedly and was next to her in seconds, standing barely inches apart from her, "Sorry? You are sorry for saying that out loud to me or sorry for thinking like that Ishita?" he demanded, his lips tightened into a straight line, making his face look menacing. He was standing close enough to make out the dark brown flecks in his otherwise black eyes. She noticed his beautiful lashes that swept over his high cheekbones, making his eyes look hooded. He looked really sexy up close. Even otherwise, Ishita' her mind prompted her. She opened and closed her mouth like a fish thrice, unable to say anything as his proximity sent her senses into mayhem. She could smell musk on him. Musk and his own smell. Oh Murugan! She swallowed and realized her mouth had gone dry.
He noticed her shock and guilt and he couldn't understand why it hurt so much that she thought that way about him. He knew people judged him for his ways and he didn't give two hoots about them, but Ishita? What else is she supposed to think about you Raman when she has seen and heard everything that supports her thoughts about you?' he asked himself and his eyes softened just a little. Raman noticed Ishita's expression, was that desire that he saw in her eyes? He desperately wanted to mould her to himself and kiss her. Kiss her senseless, kiss her as if tomorrow didn't exist. Can he do that? Should he do that? Frustrated he turned on his heels to stalk his way to the large glass window; Delhi's sky was blue and clear, just opposite to his stormy eyes that held conflict between what he desired and what he ought to do.
That little softening of his eyes gave her encouragement, "Raman, I am really sorry. I never meant to hurt you, I can never hurt you, and you know that. I just, I don't know. It's just that you have always been like that and I never thought you would feel bad about something you never felt bad about accepting." She said softly. "I never meant to say that you are a manwh*re. EVER. You are an amazing person Raman, and that's all that matters." She told him slowly but with conviction in her voice that Raman didn't fail to notice. He felt better now but getting no response from him, she walked up to his stiff form standing with his back to her and lightly touched his arm. He did not turn to look at her. He didn't know what he would do if he did. He did not trust himself around her right now.
She felt slightly irritated at his stony stance. Itna bhi kya gussa' she grumbled and forcefully turned him around and noticed his stormy eyes that fell upon her lips, making her feel conscious. "Raman?" she half said half whispered. "Raman please?" her voice broke towards the end and that undid Raman Bhalla. His big hands cupped her face softly and he noticed Ishita's already big eyes getting bigger, like saucers. He waited for her to protest or say something, anything, but she didn't. He swooped down to touch her lips with his softly, waiting for her to respond. She stood shell shocked. When she did not respond he kissed her lightly, hoping she would say something or do something. He leaned back to look at her face, all he could see was shock and he guiltily turned his back to her. God! He hated this, hated the fact that she wasn't affected by him at all. Hated that the only woman he ever wanted didn't desire him back.
Ishita saw the light from eyes going away and guilt and sadness taking over, and her heart turned over in her chest. She felt as if someone had physically reached out grabbed her heart and squeezed it, as she noticed his expression. She did not want him to feel that way. EVER. She did not know what came over her but she forcefully turned him towards her and grabbed him by his lapels and kissed him, on her tiptoes.
To say Raman was shocked would be an understatement, but he wasn't shocked enough to not register her soft kiss. Before she could move away from him, his arms went around her waist and pulled her closer, moulding her soft pliant form to his hard one. She parted her mouth to breathe and Raman did not let go of that opportunity. His tongue slightly entered her mouth, lightly touching the insides of her soft lips, scraping his teeth against her bottom lips and slightly biting it, making her gasp and giving him leeway to enter further in the soft cavern of her mouth. Raman Bhalla tasted heaven, he had thought about this moment in infinitely different manner and this couldn't be more perfect. She sighed into his mouth, making him hold her closer.
Ishita did not know that a kiss could be like this. Never in her wildest fantasy did she imagine that someone could kiss her like this and she would reciprocate all the way. But, if she was honest to herself, those fantasies did have Raman in them sometimes. Times when she had first met him, when she had felt that weird tingling sensation in her stomach, the same feeling that comes when plane takes off or when a giant wheel suddenly goes down from a height. She ignored it and was successfully ignoring everything related to him until now. It was like 5 years with Subbu never existed. She tried to get closer to him, if it was possible and felt Raman hardening. Felt his arousal on her lower belly and Raman pulled her tighter still, plundering her mouth.
A knock on the door made them jump apart. Raman noticed her red plump lips, swollen from his kissing; his teeth marks on her lower lip, slightly dishelleved hair and Ishita had never looked prettier. Ishita looked at him a little shyly and apprehensively and looked away the moment he said- "come in" in a deep, husky voice.
Raman stood behind his chair, covering his embarrassing arousal as Mihir came in. Ishita was fixed at the same spot, her back towards Mihir.
"Bro, how did the meeting go? Did Mathur agree for mediation? Or for arbitration?" Mihir asked excitedly, hoping against hope it was mediation as it would have been simpler for them. "Arbitration" replied Raman, making Mihir roll his eyes. "Mathur is after the respondents to draw blood. I am surprised he even agreed for Arb. proceedings. Let's file for that now, shall we? Dude, there is so much work, I am going crazy. This other client chewed off my brain the moment I came in after lunch." He rambled on, not noticing Raman's eyes sparkling with mischief and something more and Ishita's rigid form, still fixated near the window. Mihir noticed Ishita looking out of the window and not acknowledging his presence.
"Oh hello Iyer! I know you can deflate the ego of the most egoistic man on this planet by not giving him any bhaav, but what have I done to deserve this silent treatment?" he joked. Ishita turned around to face him and gave him a watery smile. "Are you okay Iyer?" Mihir asked, making her conscious and her hand immediately shot up to smooth her hair and she blushed when she remembered how Raman's long fingers threaded through her soft tresses. She had let her hair open today. Mihir looked at her curiously, she looked disoriented for some reason. "Yes, Ishita, what's wrong, you look disoriented? Nahi Mihir?" asked Raman naughtily, making her look at him angrily. "I am fine" She said, as she arched her eyebrows and looked at Raman, challenging him almost say something else. He grinned. She noticed his heart melting dimples. She was a sucker for dimples. She closed her eyes and opened them slowly only to notice that Mihir was curiously looking at both of them. She cleared her throat instantly and said- "I have work to do. See you later Mihir." Before she could walk outside the door she heard Raman ask- "And me?" she could almost see his naughty smile and mischief in those eyes even when she was standing with her back to him, she made a noncommittal sound in her throat and left, making Raman grin ear to ear.
"Bro? I haven't seen you like this since very long. What did Iyer say to make you grin like this? Mihir asked smiling, but very curious to know what happened between his best friend and Ishita, he knew something happened but wasn't sure what exactly. He was club IshRa, like 50 percent of the office staff were, but he did understand the other 50 who were club SubIsh, cause Ishita and Subbu dated for quite long and everyone thought they would get married. No, subbu did not work in the same office as them but a lot of them had seen him coming to visit Ishita at times. He was good looking and a charmer no doubt, but he did not have what Raman Bhalla had. A strong character, which was more important than good looks any day. Subbu had cheated on Ishita with some girl in his office. And yes, their office was divided between these two clubs and neither Ishita nor Raman had any clue about any of this.
"Nothing much, I like riling her up you know that. So I just teased her and you know how she is, she got irritated." he smiled secretly at him, making Mihir wonder whether Raman was telling the truth. He was almost sure he wasn't.
"Accha alright! I have work, I am going, see you" Mihir left Raman's cabin, leaving him alone to wonder about their situation. Did she regret it?', was the first thing that came to his mind. He will have to find out and with that thought he decided to go to Ishita's cabin and as he knocked at her door her soft voice asked him to go in. He opened the door slightly to see few clients and Mr. Anand, senior partner of the firm seated there and they were involved in some serious discussion and as he entered everyone looked up at him, making him feel awkward. Shit.' He thought. Ishita could feel her cheeks go warm as she saw who came in but she very bravely looked him in the eye and asked him calmly- "Yes Raman? Did you have any work?" Raman looked at her, feeling awkward he was caught like this and said- "Uh! Nothing important actually, let me know when you are done, we need to discuss our...case" he finished and Ishita looked at him, scared he would say situation' in front of everyone and Raman knew what she was thinking. Stupid' thought Ishita. She couldn't ignore the cat got the cream' look on his face.
"Raman? Ishita? IS everything okay?" Mr. Anand asked them. "Oh yes Mr. Anand! No issue at all, just a small thing that we had failed to notice previously in our case, which recently cropped up." Raman informed him, smilingly and noticed Ishita's embarrassed face from the corner of his eyes. He left Ishita to work. They will talk about this later, thought Raman, his heart singing.
Ishita did not get out of her cabin the whole day after that incident. Scared, nervous, apprehensive, she was a mixture of all emotions and mostly she was scared to face the truth which had been staring at her face since past 2 years. She knew the attraction was always there but she also knew she could never act on it as she was involved with Subbu and she was content and satisfied with the stable relationship she shared with him since past 2 years only until she realized his true colors, his fear of commitment and never acknowledging where their relationship was going even after 5 years of relationship, their families were involved too, but he never paid any heed to any of that and was caught cheating by her, in his own cabin in his office. She had gone with takeout lunch boxes, his favourite Chinese food to surprise him, only to get the surprise of her life. Two tears rolled down her smooth cheeks.
No. She did not cry because he cheated on her, she cried because she let herself believe that their relationship meant something even after so many fights and disagreements and almost-break ups. She thought, maybe everything would get fine if they keep trying. She had never been this wrong. She cursed herself for being this foolish.
Then she remembered what took place in Raman's cabin today and she blushed in spite of herself. Subramaniam's 5 years vanished in thin air in the few seconds that she experienced heaven in Raman's arms. It was as if, her murugan wanted to mock her for suppressing that attraction for a fool like Subbu!
You should have been a bad girl Ishita!', she told herself angrily and then felt her cheeks warm up again, the thought running at the speed of 200 miles per hour, taking her in deep, dark area of her fantasies. She did not know exactly what she wanted, but she did know she never wanted to stop kissing him, if given a chance.
Her mother's phone call shook her out of her reverie and she realized it was 7:30 already and she needed to get home. She picked up her bags, locked her cabin and walked towards her car, smiling and wishing goodnight to everyone and her favourite security guard dada, the sound of her car opening echoed in the almost empty parking lot when she heard the voice of the man who, now, she will never forget in this lifetime, "Not so quickly Ishita. I waited really long for this, I won't let you go this easily now." Raman enveloped her in his arms from behind, hugging her close to himself.
