All that drama was to get into the good books of Raman... Only saving grace-- Puttar seemed more interested in Biwi and her situation than Shagun's Dramas, at least as per OLV. ( I hope I dont eat my words back when the epi is aired...Phew!)

@ blue that is my only hope from this track right now.. His feelings for Ishita is not affected by his blind love for Green lantern( thank you V) and once he figures out how to balance it, he'll re-emerge as our hero again ... But for that he has to essentially slay some dragons : first and foremost he has to stop this blind love for his son and learn to be a parent; the one that puts in some discipline and structure for his son...kids need that though they complain. And tough love may cure a lot of Adi's issues

Glad you got this post out!

Raman Kumar Bhalla - acting like a complete MCP - is not what irks me. Ishita not stopping him, is what does. When your husband chooses to shred your dignity to pieces, you don't stand by and allow him. You open your mouth and skin him alive. You leave his home and see how handles Ruhi leaving him for you just like Adi left him. You keep your head high and walk out of the room so that he finally understands that he has gone too far. You remind him all that you have done to earn the title of ISHIMA. And you tell him to go to hell and take His precious Adi and Shagun with him if he so desires but to leave you out of the picture if he cannot respect you.

Men, often will than not act as they please if you so allow them. Its you, who has to bear the responsibility of preserving your dignity. You cannot stand by and watch and then blame someone else for talking shit to you. YOU allowed it to happen BEC you stood by and watched. Raman behaviour is intolerable, but what makes it even more irritating is Ishita's mum response in front of Raman's accusations and Toshiji's OTT love for her GKC. I have a huge problem with Hindi serials glorifying this type of mum behaviour in their bahus. That she will bear everything and not say a word, is considered a mark of the ideal wife and DIL. My question to you is,

What kind of a message we are giving to the younger generation when their most loved TV serials propogate this kind of a behaviour and allow their male leads any kind of leavage without an appropriate redemption??? And Bringing ice-cream for your wife, isn't one.

LOVE,

Shal😊

😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

My heart goes out to Ishita...God!!! I decided to not watch the episode then I just did.

I agree Ishita is handling this very maturely...she is trying to the best of her ability to not make things worse especially because of her. But for how long? When will she react ? How much more is she willing to get insulted, screamed at and walked all over? I get Indian TV Bahu's have a will power than no-one can match (Even God's don't show so much patient) but this is the limit...Aur kya?

Loved ur point of view 👏 Whenever I go through Gan's threads, I realise how many empowered women there are here. And all of us love this show for our beloved Ishra. Unfortunately in Indian shows, only dutiful daughters and DILs are glorified. I mean seriously, do people like this still exist? We all fight for our rights. Expressing one's opinion is not a lack of respect!

I would never let a woman like Shagun into my home coz that's inviting a snake in. And where have u seen the current wife accepting the ex-wife in the same house?

And why should we let those we love take us for granted? Where is it written?

As much as I love this show, it seriously goes against my principles. It's my guilty pleasure and I comfort myself by telling myself that I don't contribute to the TRP. I think most of us are in the same boat - hanging on simply for Ishra and Ru 😊

I spent the last 30-45 mins making a post ..but IF crashed on me...so no post today...let me put the few quotes I worked on... as it is MLK's birthday today:
Moral of the story
"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
Martin Luther King Jr.
For Raman:
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Martin Luther King Jr.
More than anything it is his non-action-embracing Majboor baap avatar that hurts. Can our hero please emerge.? NOW!
For Toshijee
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
Martin Luther King Jr.
And woman to woman Ishita..sometimes more than "why...?" the need of the hour is protest against what's wrong...PERIOD.
And Mihir and Bhalla jee proves some men in YHM still are mature thinkers.

Based off this show, all I can say is love can lead to even the smartest of people making stupid decisions. Cases in point...

Ishita - Early on in this track, she truly bent over backwards to make Adi comfortable and feel at home all "Adi ke liye." However, when she realized Adi hated her, after story time, she could have nipped the issue in the bud & told Raman right there. But because she loves Raman and wants to see him happy - she kept her mouth shut, "Raman ke liye." At that point, she turned in tunnel vision and did not engage Raman in discussion about Adi's perceptions of her, ignoring the potential damage it could have on her, Raman, & Ruhi's life. Her eyes opened to the potential damage when Ruhi questioned her, but in her love, she again did not mention anything to Raman. Now things have escalated at the cost of her self respect.

Raman - for the first 2 weeks of this track, it looked like he had his brain and heart in the right place (just like the accident track..). All of a sudden, he's sort of seeing the situation but playing a silent spectator. In his love for both Adi & Ishita, he's putting off making an adult decision. He wants a perfect family of him, Ishita, Adi, & Ruhi because he thinks that will make him & Ishita complete. In his love for these 2 individuals, he's playing a passive role. ATM, he is not totally blind in love with Adi like before but he has turned off his sense of justice in his greed to have Adi with them. Now things have escalated at the cost of his happy marriage.

Ishita in her love for her husband has made mistakes and now Raman in his love for Ishita and more so, Adi is making mistakes. Both are not wrong to love - I mean you couldn't ask a wife/husband not to wish for their spouse's happiness, and no matter how craptastic the son, you can't ask a dad to totally stop loving his son. But due to their tunnel vision and desire to see the other party happy, things are escalating in a painful way!

As for Toshiji 🤢 - I cannot wait for someone to knock the realities of the modern world into her. This whole ghar ka chirag thing is giving me a headache. I get the CVs are trying to "show the mirror" to this type of thought process, but in the process - it's killing patience and tolerance of the original target viewers of the show - aka the "working, modern, urban folk."

If this is the accident track with possible elements of the 1st Param track rehashed for the new audience (& with Raman's character growth reversed) - Bhagvan, grant us patience because it seems we have just begun!

On one hand, I am fearful as to what event will push Ishita into her Kaali-Ma avtar, but on the other hand, I cannot wait for it to happen! In the accident track - it was thanks to Ashok's instigating that she saw her trust in Raman broken and her adopting her Kaali-Ma avatar.

Similar train of thought...in the accident track it was Adi who opened Raman's eyes - this time, who will it be - Ishita? Adi? Ruhi? Shagun? or my personal preference - Raman, himself reactivating some of those neural connections in his frontal lobe and making a decision on his own!
